What's it do?
It makes your phone FAST... super snappy with better multitasking!
It rearranges and fixes the OOM Groupings and Priorites and lowmemorykiller values.
So basically, it's a COMPLETE MEMORY MANAGEMENT FIX!
It's the ONLY one of it's kind
NO LAUNCHER REDRAWS, faster than ever, multitasking is better... why?
Because it works with the lowmemorykiller and letting it work the way it's meant to work.
Also, because of the rearrangement, it works the same on all roms!
The problem with using minfree tweakers like AMM or AKMO is that it doesn't work the same on all roms.
Secondary apps may be in slot 3 on some roms but in slot 5 in others!
That's why you hear people comment "I tried AKMO but it didn't do anything..."
Most likely it didn't do anything because the apps weren't sitting where they were expected to be.
So fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride! quote zepplinrox

First time being first after the OP in any rom thread. Anyway I'm on BeastMade 2.666 on my other GSII and it's never had any SOD or RR. Going to flash this later today.

I always use to use a widget called media widget on my homescreen but it dont seem to work on this rom
If i use v6 100% will my battery die quicker? Thanks in advance

Mileage may vary as there are lots of ways to set up v6. I'd give it a go. My phone is kicking ass

Yo what's up man, thanks for test driving. Where is "media widget" from? Try a reboot. And note that the phone will be settling down allot after building cache. And the device will keep apps running in background.. Again no worries its supposed to keep your last apps opened open for a while, this is for speed, multitasking and great battery. I suggest gsam Batt monitor if you want to see what's going on with battery use.. But really you should pay it no mind cause your phone is going to be more snappy than ever which will cut down on how long tasks take thus reducing screen time.

Battery is yet to be determined if it is better than BeastMade, as I have not extensively tested for battery or remained on any of the last twenty builds I've built lately. Been super crack flashing...this one is the most developed as of yet though and is tested for function and absolutely quick.... if you are doing any work at all and or want to come back to a page, app and have it likely be where you left off...this is it...
This is a final build for the SUperBeast ROM..
however I have others to be released (not more SUperBeast ROM s though) already tested just got to get time to upload. But Beastmade is amazing to me as well and will be hard to beat by any standard other than bench scores of course... It is probably about 50% super charged with adrenaline engine.. Tough call

I've used V6 SuperCharger on underpowered devices and its always helped. While I don't feel like the Herc is underpowered, by any means, I may have to run it just for kicks.

Thats a good post...Thats a question I've been meaning to ask as well... Which ROM is the best.. I have the Sprint Lovers Rom bc I all I wanted was to be able to use the phone for its wifi ability instead of paying Sprint $30 for that garbage...
Although it seems my sense based ROM is old (so to speak) bc the Cyn mods deliver really great themes etc... But as you said how is it on the battery, when the evo already has a battery issue and I def dont want to take away from it anymore than I have too...
Do other ROMs use the ability to have other devices connect to it? Is the feature not available? Are there any good sense based themes.. IF so can someone point me to a thread.. ( when using a link please be sure it actually had what im asking) I know how to search havent found much..
So far Ive kept the sprint lovers rom..I have add a custom splash.. but i want to change my dial pad..diff boot animations.. not really seeming any that jump out here.. I would love to create some... Just a lot of questions...
I like the smooth, clean, modern look of some mods Ive seen but afraid to change bc of what i'd lose...
Ideas?

Well, there's no perfect answer to this question. The best 2.3 ROM is the one that works best on your phone. Every ROM performs just a bit differently on each person's phone. Apps added and other changes made can also effect this. Our Epics can be like a second girlfriend...one minute giving you all kinds of love and happiness and the next minute can be a real pain in the ass...wait maybe I need a new girlfriend!

Yup, its all about trial and error. I can't tell you how many times I have tried a ROM and its worked perfect only for other users to report constant force closes. When you do find the ROMs that work perfect you will be a very happy camper. It pains me to run a stock setup now.

CM7.
jk. But I'd check out acs bamboozled...best gb rom I've used so far.
I've tried two (or three) 2.3 based roms and there has been a couple of things that have always caused me to go back to SRF 1.2:
No custom kernels = no overclock - I'm not a huge overclocking type of guy, but I always like to have it clocked at 1.12 or 1.2 ghz, just enough to keep it smooth but not high enough to run it hot or drain my battery.
No custom kernels = Cannot use Galaxy Tuner - I use Google Music as my primary source of car music, which means I needed to find an external app to use as an equalizer. Voodoo sound didn't work and Tuner froze on me every time I tried to use it.
Still Very buggy - I've run into a few bugs that have always irritated me, no matter how small they were. Whether it's something that freezes my phone or just kills the frame rate, I've just always been bugged (get it?) by bugs.
But where there is bad things, there have been a lot of good things that I absolutely loved about 2.3, almost enough to stay with it:
Live Backgrounds - For me, they've seem to have gotten better (stock ones anyways) and, as far as I could tell, they don't murder my battery or frame rate. The one I loved the most was this awesome looking clock that was a bunch of circles. It's hard to explain...
Screen off Animation - More eye candy, but awesome eye candy. Not much to say other then I love watching my phone turn off
Everything just seemed so smooth - Scrolling, opening apps up, etc, just seemed so fluid and clean, even if the frame rate was dropping for some reasons.
------
Those are some of my personal pro's and con's on deciding whether to run 2.3 at this time or not. For me, the con's on top were more important then the pro's on the bottom. Needs are different for each person so I'm sticking with 2.2 for now until either the official release of 2.3 is out or we can start adding kernels and themes (etc etc).

You know there can be no custom kernels until source code is released. But as for overclocking, many have had success with Tegrak from the market that has allowed overclocking on the GB leaked ROMS.

Yea, I'm slowly learning all that, I just didn't know at the time. As for Tegrak, I heard it's a major drain on the battery for some reason, but maybe results vary from user to user. Overclocking wasn't a huge concern for me, it was the other two on there that kind of got to me. I'm still happy with 2.2 so that's why I've decided to wait it out
Install acs updater and try them all

hmm i never tried compkid's regeneration or inception roms. How are they?
as for the topic we are on now, i left acs1.2 the day eg22 came out and yeah al though for some things i would love to go back to acs1.2 but the scale is heavier for me on the gb side.
I used go green, team era's scrambled eggs and tried all the randomrom 2.3 versions (eagle, egret, osprey). The most stable rom for me is randomrom osprey. It is fast enough, great on battery and everything works well with it (other lauchers, apps, etc). As for scrambled eggs, man i loved how snappy that rom was. It was extremely quick upon the click but unfortunately it wasnt working that good with a few launcher and apps and way too many force closes but still fast. Even though i feel scrambled eggs was snappier than osprey, i did receive much higher quadrant scores with osprey (not that quadrant actally matters to me, just for the sake of seeing the scores).
GoGreen was meh for me and i am definitely anticipating an update for scrambled eggs..
I first went with Bamboozle, and it was good. Then one day there are 3 EG22 Roms here it seemed.
So I tried RandomRom and I was having an awful time after 2 days with FC's and reboots.
I then loaded Scrabmled Eggs yesterday and I have been clean (other than google Nav). I am checking battery life now, but I am doing better now than I was with RandomRom. I have to think I was doing something wrong with RandomRom cuz my battery life was terrible and the FC's. I did the same thing each time I installed them, but as said before, each phone is different.
Good luck!

Curious, how did you go about flashing RandomROM? It was the first EG22 rom i tried when it initially came out and all the updates since have worked flawlessly for me.

I was running the scrambled eg22v4, just installed v7 this morning and so far it seems a little better. Only complaint is my battery seems to be going down a little faster, but it could be cuz I've been messing with loading stuff and resetting everything up. I'll give more feedback when I've had it a few days. ACS Go Green wasn't bad either.

[Q] Which is the best ROM to install? why?

I just got my s2x and looked at the rom section and they all seem good but cant tell which one is the best.
Looked at beastmode, bomba and juggar. Which one do you guys think is the best?
Only one way to find is try them all out for yourself. Me personally, I use juggernaut and love it. But that's just me haha. It won't hurt try em out.
Sent from my Galaxy S II
I've been trying them all for the past week. I think Bombaridier V.2.0 is the one to keep: very fast and has amazing data speeds. Still trying out the battery life.
I doesn't have Google Talk Video cooked in though.
Ive been using stock (bought the phone last thursday) and its been amazing. Especially after disabling TW and most of the tmobile bs, this phone has been flying.
And my battery life has been phenomenal. unplugged yesterday, at like 6:00am when i got up for work, and went on all day until 11pm at night and still had 15% left.
That sounds like mine! I love the battery life on this thing
Completely stock - not rooted yet - 1d15h battery life every day, and I charge at 10%. Moderate use through the day.
I switch ROMs daily, I still haven't found my daily driver. I have been most happy with Bombaridier because of the speeds. I'm back to Juggernaut now to test out the 1.6 release. Definitely invest in something like Titanium backup if you're going to be switching ROMs a lot, it'll save you a ton of headaches.
Try Hyperdroid with one of the sergions.Batterylife rocks!
Im using pongsters transparent sergion atm.
Uplugged the phone this morning at 7:00am receiving exchange email via push the whole day.
Listening to music for an hour.
Some calls, whatsapp, facebook etc and now at 00:30 at 58%
Moved arround allot too like cm7,darky rom, villain but this one seems to be stable and battery life is good.

Honestly all the roms we have are all good. It comes down to personal preferences.
I like how BeastMod is themed so that's what I rock.

Glad I saw this thread. I'm new to messing around with Android, but I'm always eager to read and learn. Right now, I'm using a stock debloated ROM and just playing with themes. The stock ROM had been perfectly suitable for me and I'm not left wanting...but I do get curious about the other ROMs.
I understand that its a matter of personal preference and the only way to know which is "best"for a person is to try them out.
However, could you educate a beginner on what sort of practical differences to look for in each ROM? That is to say, if one of you experienced members were to flash a new ROM, what things do you pay particular attention to?
I've always found that it helps in the learning process to know what you're supposed to be learning, so I'd like to have an organized mind as I explore.

There are lots of things to look for such as..
Battery, smoothness, simplicity, mods, tweaks, themes, and I'm sure I'm missing some more.
For the most part Juggernaut has all the above along with BeastMod.
But again ALL the roms we have are GOOD. All the devs we have are amazing at what they do and my best tip for you is to try them all.
Stay at least 3 days with each one and from there you'll be able to decide which one fits you more.
I hope this helps.

heres how it is, ive only tried beastmod and juggernaut, so far beastmod was good, but once i tried juggernaut i was sold, its snappier, specially with the new bullet kernel, its speedy!
Beast Mod consistently holds me down no bugs reboots a lot nicer on the eyes without being excessive... I'm downloading 2.5 to give it a full shot
---------- Post added at 12:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:17 PM ----------
But I agree the best way to really know what you like is try em all and use it as you would normally some people love speed but don't care about battery and some do etc;
Like everyone says, kindof a preference thing....
In my opinion, juggernaut is the best rom atm, it has the most dev support and has the most advanced options right now.
I'm rocking the following and am quite happy:
ROM: juggernaut 2.6
Kernel: bullet 1.8
Theme: ICS theme (without installing system apps, just want blue taskbar and themes and not the somewhat crappy ICS launcher)
Launcher: LauncherPro with Custom made ICS buttons. (see my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19247803#post19247803)
That said, bombaridier is smooth and clean, beastmod is unique and has an enthusiastic following.

Different processors.
This is my first android phone and i jumped in head first and rooted it the second day i had it and have since tried all versions of every rom so far. personally i think juggs has tons of potential but atm they are ironing out the bugs, good for customizing but dont post about a bug without a log of the error. bomba is stable and fast and lacks bugs, best daily driver at the moment. beast just feels like a kang of jugg. kernels to go with are all good right now. seems like jugg (or beast) works best with their accompanying rom, jugs. and bomba rocks with synergy, gonna try it with bullet today.

Getting my phone tomorrow.. What tips or tricks do you all recommend..??

Finally get off Sprints lies of 4G.. I was there from the beginning when they promised me Wimax would be everywhere..
Realizing the HSPA with T-mobile is definitely different then at&t's HSPA.. Its very fast in my area..
So I'm doing it!!!
I plan to root it first thing.. Then put on the newest Juggernaut Rom..
It seems very stable from what many are saying..
I assume there are themes and such for this Rom as well?
Any other tips or tricks you guys can recommend that would be great..

Congrats on the phone. I'm still running juggernaut 3.7. I haven't really felt the need to try another Rom. I have looked at the macnut. It seems like it's still jugs with little changes.
Same here man, I left Sprint after being a customer since 2006...
I was pleasantly shocked at my coverage with T-Mobile and the HSPA+ speeds here, everything is so much better than Sprint. Congrats on the move, I got out because of a material change in the contract.
I recommend reading up on the rooting guides as well as watching this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfA1KKzXkFU. This video is pretty much is fool-proof and if you're a veteran to rooting, then this phone is EZ PZ.
Wow.. thanks all.. Thanks for the heads up on the rom..
This Macnut rom.. It's super stable? Sense rom I assume?
First of all..
First of all, you must root and install a custom ROM if possible. Definitely makes the experience more enjoyable

The most up to date roms in our forum are macnut and darkside.
Also, they use touchwiz... Sense is for htc phones.

heheh.. ok... Touchwiz it is..
I'm gonna put Macnut as it seems the most popular..
Anything else?
Whats some other goodies I should know about?
Camera tricks?
themes I assume are all included in the rom topic post ?
if you want something that will have everything working, even have apps work that sometimes somehow it doesnt in other roms. Just root and stock and if you want something that doesnt update a lot, root and stock.
Yeah I was reading that some custom roms use up a lot of battery when using Bluetooth. So I have been reading a great deal before I actually do anything. I can deal with the bloatware for now till I get a good grasp of everything.

stock and root, then remove bloatwares.. thats all you need. all custom rom add is the 14 toggle statusbar, maybe custom kernel... to support BLN or however ( top of of my head ) seen it around but doesnt phase me... other than that, its just themes.. everything is based on 2.3.6 + themes, especially eugenes rom, it seems nothing but theme and LG hack... same ol same.... and people gave him money for a " theme ROM" from him.. wow... give me 350, we will have AOSP them.. with tweaks...
Wife got her SGS2 yesterday and I rooted it with Juggernaut. As a rom, it was fairly disappointing at first as it looked nearly exactly stock, but it did have some good UI tweaks built in as well as an app to toggle bloat on and off. Using titanium to get rid of some of the extra bloat, and launcher pro to ditch TouchWiz UI it's running pretty smooth.
Today is the first day of real use and I have high hopes for it.
Try a few roms, You'll spend more time waiting for them to download than to install and configure with all the upload sites now, but at least you can get a feel for what's out there.
Then just bookmark and stalk the forums for a AOSP ICS build.

The modded versions of 2.3.6 are much better than stock. try macnut or darkside warfare. those are currently the most up to date roms available for our phone.

I tried darkside's ROM; and honestly I don't like touchwiz and I wasn't impressed by the rom because it still had samsung and T-mobile crap on it. Don't get me wrong its a great job with the kernel and I can tell that a lot of hard work went into it, but I'm not looking for just no bloat and system customization. I guess I'm spoiled coming from latest support and development for Cyanogenmod on my Nexus phones, but I loaded the abandoned CM7 mod and Da_G's kernel for the Skyrocket S2 as some other people have used. Some issues...but its expected since it was abandoned in its alpha stage. I'll just be patiently waiting until CM9 rolls around .

Who said CM9 is coming to this phone?
I got the phone today.. And all I can say is WOW!!
It's unreal!!
Whats touchwiz exactly ??
I rooted the phone first thing, but as of now, I'm not putting a rom into it.. I will just play with it as it is now..
I hate the fact though I cannot change the drawer task bar... The bottom buttons...
I don't use the stock messaging program (I use handcet) and I cannot remove it..
Sucks..
as for the speed..
Holy ****!!!
I cannot believe this glorified 3g system is this fast.. I guess it doesn't matter LTE, Wimax or what.. I'm getting download speeds of 20 down and 3-4 up..
Average.. lowest I've seen 5 down so far.
This thing is awesome!!
Touchwiz is the launcher. If you want to change your drawer apps go to your apps menu and hit the menu button them edit. Then just drag whatever you want to change in your dock.
And not to bust your bubbles, have you checked your display on low brightness in a dark room and noticed the blobs and vertical lines on your phone.? I'm pretty sure you'll begin to notice it very soon. Thought id give you a heads up. This is am overall bad ass phone except for that flaw.

You know you can just add the flag -notw to the Darkside file name and that will get rid of TouchWiz and most of the T-mobile/Samsung apps right? I'm guessing you didn't read the "flags" area in the first post of the DARKSIDE DIGITAL WARFARE thread.

Went with my dad to get these phones today..
I went through about 3 of them, before I found two that had ZERO lines or issues..
I checked the best I could.. Went into the back room, which was dark and opened a bunch of dark pictures from the web..
I saw some lines on 3 of them.. before I found the next two that didn't look like they had them..
so if it does have them, its so minor, you will never be able to tell..
At least not enough that I have to TRY and see them..

well, i forgot about that... thanks remembering me...
Honestly my ROM is lack for battery performance
While I'm to focus on performance & stability
If you wanna more features you can pick it
Anyway, i will figure it out again
BWT there is new XXLB4 firmware,
i assume it will have good battery life and performance for STOCK
It will be good as a base custom ROM
Regards

well, I currently downloading Your ROM
but thanks for advice, I'll try that new firmware... I'm tired for this bootloop
BTW, how many hours is it?
i'm using KP's optimised V2 rom....tried V4 but had problems with with the mobile data connection, went back to V2 and no problems....been using V2 since launch and i cant recommend it highly enough...
COW Rom
COW Rom v6 is the best atm in my opinion. Had lots of problems with Kerza when I installed it. COW Rom runs stable and VERY fast.
I'm using Black Notes Chapter 3. I did not have any problem up to now.
Although I did not apply V6 Supercharger yet, it is already faster than stock ROM.
I also like it's ICS look
KP v4 non OC so far best stable and fast.

Btw, I made this poll just because I'm still confuse about stable custom ROM, because I hate to wipe data, because to test a custom ROM, for me it took 2-3 weeks, then it will be a review... if it just 1-2 day, I think it cannot be an opinion/review, so I need help from members about this custom ROM so I just took 1 ROM and use it till update comes
Again, I'm NOT telling about which one is the best or vilifying another ROM, thanks
Cow v5 drain my juice at 2 days...currently testing v6...
No problem so far except buddies now fc problem...

I flashed black notes 3 yesterday. My first custom on this device so i dont have much to compare with except stock.
Supercharged it, installed juice defender ultimate, turned it of for 100% charge.
Since this morning ive used it for some calls and texts, a little bit of facebook and mail, messed around with some market, widgets and apps to get things as i want it.
Been on constant wifi for thee last five hours, and now im down on 62%.
Been using it for 14 hours now. Not bad imo
Using bionic cow v6 for two days now.. Super fast and smooth.. Not sure bout da battery life yet..

I am using Black Chap 3 now. So far I haven't seen any significant improvement on my W as I had customized my previous stock rom quite a lot (Antutu: 3857).
Trying to discharge the battery to test how it affects battery performance now.
You forgotten qzem's GingerIce
N TuxBrother's
Stable Rom for Galaxy Wonder
Speed and Performance of Black Notes Chapter roms are best to me. while cowithgun roms gives you slightly better battery performance
Been using cows V6 Bionic Cow OC rom for 24 hrs now everythings stable and fast.

You still judge the ROM performance based on antutu score
Actually benchmarking doesn't mean the ROM have good performance for overall
Black Notes Chapter 3 maybe just same point with antutu
Have you try with "Quadrant Advance" yet ?
If you have 2 phone to testing you will know the performance differences
That's the real benchmarking test for developer..

Ya, you are right. Good benchmarking doesn't mean good overall performance. I wish I could have two SGWs for testing, but I am poort
I would try Quadrant Advance later.
Btw, Black note rom is really good and stable that suits my usage after using for 2 days. Thanks a lot.
