You might want to look in the Nexus S forums, not the Galaxy Nexus forums

About the ICS stock boot animation

Hi folks,
I just got my galaxy nexus 3 days ago and today I flashed wit one rom which is AOKP.
This rom is really impressive in terms of the performance in browsing and overall.
But I miss the ICS stock boot animation. Could anybody help me to find the boot animation?
And I'm not a developer so I have very little knowledge about how to apply it.
Please let me know how to.
Hope somebody can kindly help me out

Here's the optimized version for deeper blacks and more vibrant colors. Be sure to get the January 8th one. Flashable through CMW (just like you did with AOKP rom). Or you could just unzip the package, and push the bootanimation.zip to /system/media using terminal or root explorer.
Link
Thank you so much I'll try it out now!

I tried this version but it's not smooth towards the end
hi there
I tried this version. It's full screen on my galaxy nexus but it's not smooth towards the end of the animation where the device is getting close to being booted.
I've flashed my galaxy nexus a few hours after the launch of Jelly Bean and whilst Jelly BEan is really good, I hate its bootanimation.
Still prefer the stock ICS one.
Can someone please post the stock standard ICS bootanimation.zip file here please?

CM 7 for Galaxy Nexus?

I don't know if it may be possible... but is there a way to have a cm7 running on the gn cdma? I'm pretty sure there's not. But maybe there's a small chance there is a way to get it running...I just want to know if there's a cm7 that can run off this phone. I have cm9 nightly running but I want to use gingerbread. .too? Any ideas, thoughts, or a definite answer? Than in advance

Why would you want that..?! Millions of android users are never going to even see what we've got since yesterday (4.0.4) and you want to go back to gingerbread?
heh I wanted to run 1.0 on my nexus one...
Most likely NO. I cant imagine any developer (unless you want to take a crack at it yourself) that would want to waste their time on trying to make "MS Dos 3.1" run on a Windows 8 device
No. And seriously.... wtf?
Wow...! This is what they call evolution? I can exchange my nexus one for your gnex... Lots of gingerbread rooms!

I just thought it be pretty cool to run cm 7 on the gn...just to have it stable and it being faster I guess.....nit saying going back in evolution and or technology...maybe just for cm7 to run faster off the gn..I had it on my nexus one and nexus s...

Faster as in ics needs a certain amount of memory for it to run properly. But I'm guessing cm7 don't need allll the memory available on gn therefore it would run much faster....just like a windows 7 computer having g now like 8gb of ram available and new processors....and if u install windows xp it will run very smooth and super fast..since that system never saw 8gb of ram in the past on a regular desktop....that's what I meant...but yeah it will never happen anyways

It has nothing to do with the ram.
Or maybe even symbian! From the 5110 with the original snake.... ya, THAT would be fast!!!
It won't necessarily run smoother as it wouldn't be optimised for running on the GN. Also gingerbread lacks hardware acceleration so that would make things ever so slightly laggier and not to mention possible bugs.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
There is not (that I am aware of) any device that would run smooth at 720p on Gingerbread unless the OEM added a hardware accelerated UI (for example, the Note).

Just because you may not like an idea doesn't mean that everybody else has to feel the same way. If you're not interested in helping then feel free to ignore the thread, but do NOT reply just to give some smartass answer or harass others.
I think everyone here has been pretty lighthearted with each other so far but this is getting real old real quick.
OP instead of making comments and making fun of your curiosities I will simply explain:
There are no driver binaries for G Nex hardware that work on Gingerbread, and that's the main reason this won't work. Just like you couldn't really build Froyo for the Nexus S. The hardware drivers are typically coded to work with specific versions of Android.

If you disconnect your phone while flashing, then yes you can brick your phone.
If you follow the steps in the guides to the letter then you will be fine.

Lock Icon At Startup Screen

I did a search for this so forgive me if this has been posted already, but is there a way to eliminate the lock icon at the Google startup screen for a Sprint GNex with an unlocked bootloader? It's obviously not a big deal, but I remember someone figuring out how to remove the yellow triangle on my Galaxy S2 so I was wondering if someone had figured this one out, too. If it matters, I am running the latest nightly of CM9.
This is what you want.

Thanks! I didn't even know this existed...I'll give it a try!
I just wish someone offered a free app for this. I don't wanna buy an app just to change my boot logo one time, especially since I'm only going to remove the unlocked image.

I'm assuming it wasn't easy to create what he did, so I have no problem supporting the dev.
And the added security features are nice.

[Q] How can I install ICS on my Galaxy Ace 2?

Straight to the point; there are millions of guides on how to install ICS and Jelly Bean on the Galaxy Ace first version but not for the Galaxy Ace 2. I must be doing something wrong, because I can't even find one guide...
Heck, I don't even need a guide, just the image/ROM/whatever itself and to know it works. maclaw.pl/?page_id=180 seems to only be for the Galaxy Ace not the Ace 2. Am I overlooking something?
Please point me in the right direction!
Oh, yes and I don't care if it's ICS or Jelly Bean. Whichever works; just don't want a non-functional camera.
There is no 4.0 ICS for ace 2
JB 4.1 will come in January.

I know there is no official way to upgrade to ICS and Jelly Bean is coming 'soon' but surely there is a way to install Cyanogenmod 9 or 10 on the ace 2. It's sad that mclaw is only developing for the older ace rather than our ace.

No there isn't a way.
Maybe the cause is, that he has no ACE 2. Buy him one, and I'm sure he develop for us

I barely just afforded my Ace 2, being a 15 year old off my job with a hosting provider. Only to find there is no ICS. Kinda annoying..
But surely, surely there could be some ROM which could work, like one from another Samsung phone etc. I was going to buy a HTC Explorer but chose the Ace 2 because of the bigger screen, even the Explorer has ICS ROMS and stuff..
Someone out there must have ICS on their Ace 2.
I doubt Samsung will ever release Jelly Bean for the Ace 2, I guess we shall see, January is up in a few hours.

1stly, No there is nobody out there with ICS on their Ace 2 and there won't be for a simple reason. Becuase Jelly bean exists.
And what makes me say that? Since there are rumors about jb coming on our phone, and since it is newer than ICS I doubt anyone will bother developing cm9/ICS, the devs are only looking forward for cm10/JB.
P.S: After all, since building JB has the same success rate as ICS I see no reason in developing ICS, it is inferior.

Well, as it seems he bricked his Ace 2, so he has to post with another phone
@jayesh: If you tried to flash the ICS for the Galaxy ACE (5830) on the Ace 2 its propably tricked. Try to get into download mode and reflash stock rom with odin. If that doesnt work you can still try the USB jig.
Imho that are your only 2 options.
