[Q] /emmc problem!!! - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Guys, I think I'm in trouble...
Don't know how big this may be (since it hanven't EVER happened for me before...)
While full wipping my Wonder to flash CM9 Beta 2 and gapps, I was clicking EVERY wipe/format option in the CWM 5... including the format /emmc.
Now, I can't read my SD card!!!!!!!! (SD brick??! For real???)
How can I get back to normal?

Try formatting the memory again using the pc

[Q] SD card format

Hi,
Don't know weather or not this has been discussed before but i'm hoping for a reply.
I installed opendesire ROM and after some time my phone kept on rebooting, so I wanted to do a full wipe of the phone and reinstall a new ROM. I was also using A2SD so I have partitioned my SD card. Thing is, I wanted to wipe that as well so I had no remains of anything old before I put another ROM on. So I plugged the phone in reformatted the SD card as FAT32, Went into recovery done a full wipe of cache and factory restore and then flashed a new ROM. When the phone booted up though All my old apps were there. I don't want this to happen I just want the phone to be back with nothing on but the new ROM.
Could someone please explain to me how to do this?
Cheers
Ian
anybody?
Can anybody help?
You only formated the Fat32 partition. Ext3 is not visible under windows (ask m$ why). You can either:
1. format ext3 trough recovery
2. get linux and format it trough there
3. install software on your pc which can read ext3 partitions, I don't seem to recall its name
Cheers buddy. Your a gud'un!

Help: Can't install custom ROM

So i had MIUI and i used it with my 8gb sd card, than i bought a 32 gb card and decided to test WajkIUI, but than i didn't like bcause imo its slower than MIUI. So i wiped data/cache and tried to install MIUI.zip from sd card a message appeared :
E: Can't open / sdcard / miuiandroid_Defy1.11.25.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
Than i tried to wipe stock data and flash again with rsd, and after i did it i still have the same problem. Can anyone help me ?
Thanks
Maybe you got a bad zip, try to download it again. Or maybe your SD card is damaged, try to format or another one.

i agree with gazm4n .. maybe it's a bad zip or a bad SD Card
try another Custom ROM like MIUI... if you can install it without problems...
the problem was the bad zip, if you can not .. consider create again the partitions of ur SD Card (the FAT32 one, and the Ext one) ...
Also You can try different bootmenu. I had same problem with MS2Ginger 2.1 on 0.6.1 2nd Inint and it works on 1.0.7.

Accidentally formatted ex sd card in cmw !!

Hello All,
This is my first thread! I recently rooted my tmo sgs2 in order to get the full potential out of my phone. I loved it and was going flash crazy. Everything seemed to be going well until i accidentally formatted my external sd card in CMW. I was on Jug 5.0 Ultimate ICS edition and now im on the blackedition. Now all my backups are gone and some things on the phone dont seem to be working properly. Any suggestions? I tried looking through other threads but none seemed to help. Any feedback would help.
Thank you

how important is recovering the data? typically a 'deletion'/'format' just dereferences the blocks from the memory allocation table so the data is still there. and thus you can use recovery software to get most of it back. but i'm basing this off experience with hdds and ntfs not flash memory (and probably fat32).
and formatting it shouldn't affect how your phone runs unless you moved app installations to it...
Either don't copy anything to the SD, and use a program like undelete I think is the name, wouldnt flash anythig from this method anyways, or dl a new ROM to the SD card and reflash, wiping he SD is wiping the SD, that's ur own bad and no way to actually "restore"
OK well i didnt move any of my apps to my sd so im guessing the rom is just kind of buggy then. But now when im in the process of wiping dalvik code it says
E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext] ?!?!?

Did a little googling,
/sd-ext is the mount point for Linux EXT-type partitions used with Apps2SD. It was a clever gludge from before Android supported moving apps natively; supported ROMs moved all installed apps to this new partition and symlinked them back to /data/app, so tricking the OS. Subsequent installations went to this partition also. The error is perfectly normal on devices with no EXT partition and is simply a result of the CWM code supporting a huge range of devices.

[Q] Internal SD Card Storage I/O Error in CM10, but Works in Recovery Mode

Hi guys,
Searched the forums high and low, no answer from what I can find fixes my problem. Here's the situation:
In my build of CM10 I used to have /storage/sdcard0 and /storage/sdcard1, the system points /sdcard to /storage/sdcard0 and /external_sdcard to /storage/sdcard1. Currently. I can only access /sdcard from Recovery mode, I see all the files that should be on the internal sdcard and it appears to work perfectly. When I load CM10, I am unable to access /sdcard, I continually get "Failed: I/O Error" as the returned message when I try to enter the directory in ADB.
No matter what I do, I get "Failed: I/O Error" when I try to do anything on the internal sdcard at /storage/sdcard0. I've tried re-flashing ROMs, formatting the internal sdcard in Windows, going back to stock, accessing the internal sdcard in ADB etc. Nothing works. Interestingly, I restored a NANDROID backup I had of CM9 and It restored the /emmc directory, which I believe was my internal sdcard. I tried to then flash from CM9 to CM10, hoping the sdcard would fix itself, but again when I logged into CM10 I get "Failed: I/O Error".
Does anyone know how to remedy this situation and fix the input output errors I receive when I try to access my sdcard (internal storage) from CM10? As I said before, reflashing doesn't help, and it's a strange problem as the sdcard does function in recovery mode.
Advice is much appreciated!
Any ideas? I'm running cm9 with no problems at all. Very strange.

Same issue here
Once you remove the external SD card, sdcard0 is visible again.
your build of cm10? did u compile it yourself?
also could u Odin back stock GB 2.3.6 and then tel me if you have access to SD?

Is there really a10.1 build for the Hercules? Get.cm doesn't have it.

I have this same problem, albeit with the international version of the SII
Anyone found a solution to this? It's driving me nuts... How could it be that CM10 worked perfectly, then all the sudden, no internal sdcard. Restoring CM9 fixes the internal sdcard, but reflashing to CM10 causes the internal sdcard to be unreadable with an I/O Error. This is driving me mad. Windows can read the internal sdcard and format it fine, the internal sdcard can be read from Recovery Mode fine, but it can never be read in CM10.0.0.0, the release version...
Ideas?
what format is your memory stick ? If it's exfat CM won't see it because it's a closed format by Micro****.

Fat32, CM9 recognizes it fine...
than I'm very surprised. I have a 64gb working fine, but I'm on the nightly from get.cm.
Yea... very weird... I've tried running nightly builds too.

[Q]What could be wrong with my SD card if it can't mount the ext partition?

I've been trying to install the cronmod INT2EXT4+ mod, but the phone kept on getting stuck on the bootanimation screen. Then I realised that my phone couldn't mount the sd-ext partition. When I try con cwm recovery , it says:
"Error mounting /sd-ext"
Can somebody tell me what's causing this problem, and how I can fix it?
Thanks in advance

which rom you are using? int2ext4+ mostly working with cm9/cm10
second did you wipe everything correctly?
third did you flash int2ext4+ after flashing rom correctly? (silly but some people do that so)
fourth after flashing int2ext4+ ,did you format /sd-ext in mounts and storage?
Don everything, still doesn't work

I've done all of that. At first I thought the problem was because I missed a step or something, but then I discovered that when I try to do a factory reset/format sd-ext, CWM says: "error mounting /sd-ext!"
Thanks for the help, btw!

Also, I used to use INT2EXT+ before, with an ext3 partition, do you think that has anything to do with this?
My previous ROM was Jelly King.
Again, thanks for the help!

Just re format ext partition... using mini partition tool wizard... make it ext 4 with no Linux swap as its not required... & then flash any cm9/10 ..after flashing.. it flash scrip & again wipe it using recovery...

There's a few really good SD card formatting utils about, I have been using one produced by SD™ themselves, solved issues a few times with messed up ext-2, 3, 4 mount points etc...
Worth a factory standard format to know there's no issues, as cwm doesn't always format the ext thoroughly.
HTC Wildfire S - Rooted 806mhz - 4gb internal mem - sturdy old brick
Galaxy Y - rooted - Hyperion 7 tweaked - low resolution, uugghh
Galaxy S2 i9100 - Rooted - playing as we speak....
WM8850 - Rooted - 4.0.3 ICS
HTC One X 16gb - very soon upgrade hurry up

How did u get 4 gb internal
Sent from my Marvelc using Tapatalk 2
Root, used a Rom with tweaked kernal and A2SD installed from zip.
Using clockwork mod - partition my SD to ext 2 or 4 in the size of 4038mb (or there about) I forget the Rom I'm using at the mo... The One X has taken centre stage but it's a variant on JB based on cyanogen mod 10.1 with kernal optimized for Rom and the version of A2SD is specific to the kernal. I'll pm you the details proper from work - and yep it's nice having uber internal storage... No more nagging, and low storage warnings.
Get a good quality SD card to - it makes a big difference on read write speed and less loss of corrupt sectors resulting in size reduction over time.
