Well that doesn't really help him lol. Just because something kuroikaze with gm kernel will melt your face from speed doesn't mean he wants to do that.
Advice would be to look at rooting and unlocking then for a stock ROM that's epic, flex reaper, or consider cm9 or for the fastest a cm10 build.
Outside of that, not much will help. Root and use build.prop tweaks might help a little.

You are already on ICS, you don't need the leak ICS, that was just for us before ICS came out. Proceed with rooting then unlocking then flashing a custom recovery then custom ROM. As you're rooted start with renaming /system/etc/install-recovery.sh to install-recovery.bak then run the boot loader unlock scripts, then recovery, and immediately perform a backup of your entire system. Then you can flash ROMs.

if u want to stay on ICS use flex reaper relix or i think the other is called Green mod.
although Jellybean runs better on our A100 and i find you don't need the build.prop mods with it. they kinda screw with the interface a lil too much for my liking. although those can be fixed as well.
but acer stock ICS is crap.
sorry i wasn't helpful before. i couldnt help but giggle at the first reply.
also use ezterry kernel with any of your ICS flavors you choose. and as pio said don't flash a leak. youd actually be going backwards by doing that.
listen to pio, he is uber god like with thd a100. i suggest reading the "everything iconia a100 " guide before you proceed further.

I agree, CM10 is very smooth. I would suggest using the latest CM10 ROM along with twrp 2.2.2.1recovery from linuxsociety and his godmachine kernel, all in the development forum. Also installing apex launcher after you get it up and running, it is much smoother and more customizable to the tablet ui.
Actually, apex kill led my tab, made it sooooooooooo slow. If you use apex, use titanium backup and remove the stock launcher, same so much memory! Its crazy...

What bugs does it have you can't live with? Anyways you're asking for advice and its being given, if you just want to fight it then we'll stop offering advice.
ICS is faster then HC, period. Modded ICS faster still. Godmachine on modded stock faster then that. Cm9+ godmachine faster then that but iffy on games. Cm10 and godmachine kernel is as fast as you get without losing a lot of working hardware.

yes yes i know what a noobie question. i just got the epic 4g. i came from evo4g. yes i love this phone its so awesome. i just rooted it with qbking77 tutorial. shout out qbking77 your the best man your such a great help. so back to what i was saying im looking for a stock rom that has tweaks to it for battery and performance. i want to keep everything stock tho i love it!! im really digging the touchwiz launcher its awesome but it can lag. well for me it can. if you guys can help me out i would really appreciate it. thanks guys.
-Ninja25
btw here are my stuff:
firmware v: 2.3.6
kernal v:2.6.35.7
build #:GINGERBREAD.EL30
im still getting used to things with the epic.
Clean gb is a good choice Also there is an mtd version which is a different partition map and will open up your internal storage to 676mb .
Anyways clean is as stock as it gets a good kernel would be in order as well so shadow kernel or the samurai kernel will be sufficient I run the samurai kernel because of the awesome tweaks hut shadow is just as smooth.

oh man. im sorry. i meant stock as in the touchwiz ui. im so sorry man. im running the basic stock rom it comes with before you root it. and man my battery is so horrible. and performance is ok but i think it could be better. i tried uninstalling apps and everything.
im so completely lost between mtd and rom?
Is there a kernel i can just flash right over the normal stock rom? maybe for battery tweaks and performance??
I recommend cm7 or cm9. Cm7 is more stable and has more mods but cm9 is on android 4.0.

Not really there aren't really any stock kernels like that besides you need to root anyways to even access any undervolting abilities.

How far do you want to go with you phone?
Are you interesting in just adding a rooted kernel and leaving everything else stock?
Or are you looking to go all out and get the best setup possible to get all that you can out of your phone?
Or are you looking for something in between?
If you are looking just to add the basics, install Clockworkmod recovery, and a stock rooted kernel
If you are looking for the bleeding edge (will require frequent updates) install CM9 and the latest Samurai kernel
If you are looking for something inbetween, I LOVE the Legendary ROM, as it has been superb for me, before I made the move to CM9
I'm basically looking for a stock kernel that will give me good performance and long lasting battery. I was basically looking for a rom that has everything stock just little tweaks to the system and a stable kernel. I love the touchwiz interface I came from sense and I'm not trying to get rid of it.

Install clockworkmod recovery 5 (if you already have it, don't worry) because it wont work with ACS recovery. Then you can get touchwiz launcher as a flashable from the CleanGB rom's thread. You also have to search my rom's (marcusantROM) thread and look for the GPS fix. It is setting permissions to a file.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812078 (AOSP Jelly Bean)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810315&highlight=alpha5 (CM10)
They're both in the alpha development phase, but I want to know which is "smoother" (i.e. which has fewer bugs, and can be better used as a daily driver).
Any help would be appreciated.
I personally like the AOSP jelly bean better
And don't let the Alpha tag fool you.. It surely doesn't run as an alpha
I would recommend to make sure you do a CLEAN wipe and get a gps lock before you flash it though.. Helps makes things a lot smoother

From my experiences I remember the meaning of the "CUSTOM" rom.
It's MUCH BETTER THAN stock ! Come one dude "Cyanogen", "MIUI" etc.
I felt the difference before and after on many phones.
With N2 everything has changed a bit.
I agree the stock rom are better now than most of custom roms here.
Example: Im using Stock Wanam Deodex Rom (almost out touch rom.) What I did I just maximum deblaoted it.
And this stock rom working MUCH more better and faster and smoother than many custom roms here. Example OMEGA. (No offence ! this is purely my opinion)
Why it happening ?
So many developers love to add 3 years old build prop lines. Too old tweaks also are here. Come one why using stuff from HTC ? WTF was that "Enabled GPU UI rendering"???? JellyB has it from birth that !
And Im fine with that ! But NO DIFFERENCE BRO! not smoother, not faster. Ok maybe benchs is better ? But no it's lower ! Windows animation lags more than on stock rom.
And is nothing to explain about. People will get pissed.(when you tell the truth) If you just got your first android device and you have no experiences (NO CLUE) with that you will say it's faster ! But when you coming from G1 and you got 2-N2. 2-GS3 than you will see the difference between before and after and is nothing to talk about it.
Samsung did sick job with the N2 JB firmware. It's been optimized up to normal and we filling that from ANY corner !
Stop implanting stupid lines like "scrolling catch disabled" if you say yourself that it does not work.
Only best regards

You should stay on cm10. Cm9 /ics has waaayyyy more app compatibility issues than cm10.
But if you want ics flex repear is your best bet. And its awful.lol just because it is ics.

ICS was always stable for me. Its all app dependent.

I don't have a running list, because I normally just find an alternative. But the ones I still use that are glitchy are dolphin, HDR camera, and my bank app. But its pretty hard to determine if any app issues are OS/rom related or app/app update related. Unless you want to load to roms several times and several app revisions. But I do recall, not having these apps cause me any problems before cm10. But the geek in me wants the newest and fastest customizations out. We know how that is.

which version should i use
and from where can i download it
is there a cm7 for galaxy w?
if you want a stable, smooth for gaming, and good battery life, use cm9.
if you want the latest with all new features, smooth as butter, but have some minor bugs, use cm10.1
