CM10+ncx v8 - Deep sleep and Reboot issues - HTC One X

Hey guys
since i dont have enough privileges to post in the development page i had to post here. Ive flashed the latest cm10 nightly (7th Oct) along with ncx's v8 aokp kernal. Now with the latest nightly my phone doesnt go into deep sleep without ncxs kernal. After flashing the kernal (normal img and repacked img) the phone still doesnt go into deep sleep mode. also my phone has been experiencing random boots every 15-20 mins after flashing the kernal. tremendous battery drain due this issue.
Any help would be much appreciated.
P.S - i wiped data and re flashed the ROM and kernal - same issue.

Did you also flash the modules?

yeah man..

For the battery drain/deep sleep issue: Install BetterBatteryStats, hopefully this will show where the problem lies. Check kernel wakelocks etc.

[Q] MIUI causing desire to reboot?

I would like to know if anyone else has experienced similar issues using any of the MIUI roms?
If you have experienced this how did you remedy the situation?
So here is the story:
I was never keen on using MIUI roms as i am a fan of sense, but lately i have been growing tired of sense and have been looking for greener pastures.
My device is rooted(S-On, pvt-3, 0.93 hboot) and i have been running plenty of custom(sense based) roms with no trouble. Last night i flashed Pays MIUI rom and the phone was rebooting evey few minutes ... so i decided to call it a night and went to bed ... then this morning i went to the MIUI site and downloaded the latest 0.12.24(or something) and the phone was running smoothly the whole day without any hicups ... or reboots ... yes you guessed it ... now its rebooting again!
I dont think its the hardware on my device as i havnt experienced any problems with any other roms, and i perform a full wipe each time i flash.
Any advice would be greatly appretiated, thanx in advance!
Try flashing this kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=472705&d=1293232742
it could be that the HAVS kernel is causing your problems. This is a SVS kernel and should be more stable for some people.
Wipe dalvik cache after you flashed the kernel (same way as flashing rom). Disable verfication before flashing.

Thank you for the reply ... i also thought it might have something to do with the kernal, will flash after the phone has charged ... will post results!

[Q] EVO Reboots on its own running CM7

I am running CM7 on my EVO and for some reason every now and then the phone decides to reboot on its own. Is it something within CM7? DId the fix it if others were experiencing the same problem? I haven't d/l the newest one as of yet. Thanks in advance.
You can get the random reboots if you didn't flash correctly, or over clocking too high. So I would suggest to:
-Download the latest version
-perform a full wipe [factory/data, cache, dalvik]
-flash latest gapps
And you should be good to go.
It's great

What kernel are you running? Some kernels are undervolted quite a bit, and some phone's don't tolerate undervolting well. Reboots can possibly result. I had flashed the 3.3.7 Tiamat kernel the other day, running salvage mod. I was getting major and constant reboots. I used ViperBoy's overvolt script, and I've had no reboots since. My phone simply doesn't like to be undervolted, and getting rid of the the undervolt fixed it. So possibly if your kernel is undervolted a lot, your phone may not agree. So consider flashing viperboy's over volt script. His thread is in the dev section.

[Q] [Help] Random Reboots

Hi, I've been suffering some random reboots (about 3 per battery cycle) and after every reboot battery goes down drastically. I've changed the ROM and kernel and it still happens. I attach a photo of the battery life (you can see when the 3 reboots happened in the interruptions of the graphic) and a catlog (it's my first catlog so I'm not sure what to do). If you need any more info or the previous part of the log just tell me and I'll provide it.
Mine is a GSM gNEx and now I'm on Rootbox ROM (31/01/13 version) with ak 670.42 dummy kernel but as I said, it also happened in CM 10.1, AOKP, PA and with ak purity, leankernel and franco kernel.
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english.
it could very well be the phone itself. i had something similar happen on my toroplus and havent had the problem since i replaced it.
It could be your chip, but let's look at a couple of things first.
1) Are you dirty flashing by any chance?
2) Have you gone 100% stock and see if it happens there?
Nope, I haven't tried 100% stock, will try tomorrow (after doing my last exam of my degree). Also I've just had a reboot at 82% battery and the first one yesterday was at 82-81%. Is it a coincidence or can it be a hint? Maybe it's the battery...
Also I've been doing a full wipe between ROMS, no dirty flashing except for upgrades on the same ROM (just upgraded rootbox to latest JOP40G)

Well I would do 100% stock boot, recovery, ROM etc... and see what it does.
I doubt it's your battery.
My random reboots stopped after I stopped flashing custom kernels. Try a clean install and keep the kernel that came with the ROM and see if you still get them.
Thanks, then tomorrow I'll try going back to stock ROM + kernel and see if it gets solved, if not I'll try with full stock.

[Q] Random reboots on Galaxy Nexus running JB 4.2.2

Hello. I'm running Cyanogenmod 10.1.0-RC5 on my maguro device, and franco-kernel r378. I've been experiencing random reboots, sometimes as often as 2-3 per hour. The phone doesn't even feel warm when it happens. Sometimes I'm using it, but sometimes it's just sitting there doing nothing and it reboots anyway. I've uploaded the last lines of my last_kmsg here, to see if any of you can help me figure out how to solve this annoying issue.
Thank you very much in advance!
Ivan.
I have the same setup no reboots. Do a clean install. Fix per, missions after installing Franco kernel. I have on demand and bfq. Stock speed' and don't use trickster mod
I did a clean install. I'm running the on-demand governor too, and 'deadline' instead of 'bfq' scheduler. I fixed permissions as well, I didn't change the CPU speeds, and I have no idea what the trickster mod is
I might add that i was having this same random reboot problem even with the CM stock kernel.
Any info from the last_kmsg file uploaded?
Thank you!
Best regards,
Ivan.
Small update: I did a fresh ROM install, again. I'm running the stock CM kernel, with the default parameters for CPU speed, scheduler and governor. The problem remains.
Please see an updated version of last_kmsg here.
Try to reflash stock. If the problem remains I am afraid it can even go worse. I mean reboots can become more frequent.
Did u changed your radio?
Had the same problem when I was on AOKP+Franco combo. Actually it was the radio for me which caused the problem.
Reflash everything, including radio, while returning to stock, it worked for me.
good luck :good:

Stock Rom with Devil Kernel & Scripts

I'm running the stock rooted odex rom from a user in the forum here. I also have devil kernel with mat9v mid_uv stock clocks scripts. amazing battery life. i'll run it tomorrow and post a screen shot.
1) odin rooted stock odex mk9
2) odin mj4 bootloader
3) odin twrp (t0lteatt)
I was happy i got that far and then decided to do the following:
4) twrp flash devil kernel .0.1.4 i think is the latest
5) flash mat9v mid_uv_stock_clocks
6) edit script for 200mhz clock to 800mv to fix screen of death.
Hope others try it. I love stock 4.3 but need it rooted for xposed and titanium.
so far 3 hours on screen time with 72% remaining.
i had to up 200mhz to 825mv and add 25mv to every setting up to 1000mhz due to fc's. other than that running great.
these pics will speak for themselves. i didn't use my phone much today but i kept the screen on as long as i could with the 10 minute timer. i made a few calls, have gmail and outlook sync turned on, 3g, bluetooth, and wifi all day.
