[Q] Thin dark line permanently across screen - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Got my Note 2 on Wednesday and last night I noticed a thin, dark, horizontal line running across the screen about an inch away from the bottom. It's present on all colours and doesn't seem to be dead pixels, it's more like there's just a row of very dim pixels.
I've attached a few images showing it.
Any ideas?

I have the exact same problem. Is this a faulty display or do all N7100's have it but people just don't notice it?

It must be a faulty display

There's a similar picture that has been on the Google Play Store listing since the watch became available. Not sure if this is a different color, or different lighting on the same band.

Welp, either way, this is not a new picture.
Looks like the light gray/purple one to me.

My sentiments exactly. I'm chomping at the bit over here, waiting to get the official metal one as soon as it's released.

Reaplaced screen, now its turning white.

Hey, so i replaced my screen the other day and it worked fine until today when it suddenly started turning white. When i turn the screen on my it looks completely fine, after about 5 seconds a white shadow starts to appear in the background and slowly starts to make certain parts of my screen white. I opened the phone again and looked at all the cables to see if something was loose, but did not see anything wrong. Do any of you know what could be wrong?

Before you replace the screen the phone was normal? It can be LCD itself, someone with more accurate knowledge can help you with this. Better luck!

Yeah, well the screen was shattered but not white. I put on a screen protector and maybe pressed to hard... :/? and suddenly there was some white lines that got worse and worse kind of similar to this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DI64Bcf8OiE

Is this backlight bleed, and can it be fixed?

Hi everyone,
The blue streaks have actually been there a few weeks now, but the red one just appeared. Can something like this be fixed; aside from lcd replacement?
Thank you

Okay perhaps not backlight bleed, more like stuck pixels. I've run the various stuck pixel tools for a couple days now, to no avail. Guess I just have to put up with it. Cheapest replacement lcd I've found is $40.
Has no one else experienced this with their Nexus 7?
Nope, looks like a damaged lcd. I expect there has been pressure applied to it or something. My best bet is that you cannot fit this with any software.

Yeah that appears to be the case. Well it's def out of warranty, guess I'll just nurse it along till the Nexus 7 2016 (assuming it actually is) comes out.

Help! Vertical lines on the screen

Hey guys, so I recently have a problem with my Mi Max 3 and that is there are vertical lines appearing on the screen. Long story short, it fell off my bed when I was sleeping. I found the phone beside the floor of my bed, the screen was facing the floor. Everything seems functional. But for some reason, when I press the “middle” of the screen or lock the screen (press the power button) the vertical lines almost disappear. Now I have researched the problem but I’m not sure. My question is, is something loose or broken? Or something else, comment down below, any kind of help is appreciated

Either the display cable popped off the board or the display ribbon tore off the display. One is fixable without parts the other needs a new LCD.

Do you have something open that shows the bottom dock ?
If my keyboard is opened this arrow shows and when clicked it hides it.
Looks more like the remnant of a software bug
That's the 'hide keyboard' icon. No idea why it's stuck though.

I'd be more concerned about the seven dead white pixels (seventh directly below phone icon) that have ended up on your screenshot, lol. However that happened. Screenshots don't capture dead pixels. Odd.
At first, I was going crazy and thought it's my OLED TV, but no, it's your screenshot. Odd.
