which do you think that it is best?
Mostly its personal opinion but JellyTime has been around longer and was/is the original JellyBean ROM.

At this time, both are pretty unstable, crashing, freezing, rebooting. Just wait for JellyTime R17 or if you can find R14... R15 and R16 are unstable for any use. CodefireX is also rebooting and freezing in latest version.... (naturally when 2nd version of JellyTime was bad, I flashed CodefireX)

not sure how you figure that one, I ahve flashed and tested both CodefireX and Jellytime and both are more than ready as daily drivers on the DHD/inspire4G. Have you even tried either ROM? or are you just speculating?

im reading on jb forums that they have some problems with each releases...i had tested jellytime once and it was great rom but i had some freezes
but im sure that soon they will release the final GREAT JB rom...:good:
Have not tried CodefireX yet. Ran JellyTime 7.2 and 8. A few issues but more than good enough to be a daily driver. A did notice a lot of awake time when the screen was off. Not sure if this is really an issue. Battery life was decent. 16:43 minutes, 57% Voice calls (1 hour 30 minutes voice calls) and 27% display (1 hours 24 minutes screen time).

Just an FYI, you need to follow the ROM Dev's a little closer and test more than just one early release of a ROM. if everyone tested just one early release we (as DEV's) would never know what needs to be fixed or added or tweaked. I would recomend giving either of the current revisions a solid testing and I think you'll find that both are very good and stable on the desirehd/inspire4G

Guys just remember that codefirex gets released every night so naturally there will be some days that are problematic. Oct 8th and Oct 9th are known issue days due to new merges. Most has been sorted out but give it another day or two and it will be back to stable I'm sure.

Indeed both have their bugs.
But on my phone i prefer jellytime r14:good:

I agree. Jellytime is in my opinion, a bit smoother than codefireX, but both ROMs are good but unfortunately have problems in couple of last releases. Last one that works flawlessly for me is JT R14.

Which have you tried and which one works better for you?
Why do you prefer that one instead the others?
I'm looking for a stable and fluid ROM, the one with less issues, I don't care about appearance and graphic effects.
I found these interesting:
Virtuous Quattro RC3
CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0 BETA 10
Andromadus Audacity Beta 4
At the moment I'm for Andromadus but I'd like to have your feedback guys.
andromadus for the win, even the test builds aren't that crappy... i just flashed it, but i have an issue where any music app lags, so i'm reflashing another rom
I had tried Andromadus Audacity Beta 4, everything is working including camera. Very fast. Very rare lagging and font glitch than beta 3. Now I'm using it as daily ROM.

This is not a little problem, do you had it with Andromadus Audacity Beta 4 on HTC Desire Z or with an other ROM/device?
I have tried all 3 of these ROMS. No one seems to be working as hard as the Andromadus team. It may say beta, but this ROM is exceptionally stable for where it is in the development process.
I'm voting other: The one you find works best for you.
I posted in the other thread I found Andromodus had some small bugs like the clock freezing in sleep and the trackball backlight lighting up at weird times so I voted Cyanogen 9....have been finding it slightly cumbersome of late though, not sure whether to switch back again....I swear it was faster when I had beta 5!

I've been using andromadous since alpha, and in the current beta I find it works pretty well.
I'm using it daily and don't have any problems, except for sometimes there is a text corruption (letters whicn cannot be read, but with the icons I can operate the phone well).
I've been using the Virtuous Quattro RC3 build for a few weeks now on my T-mo G2. I was getting the screen artifacts that have plagued all of the ICS ROMs for this device but I chalked it up to the Trebuchet launcher, so I installed the Flex launcher instead with the same results.
Performance is better than my Cyanogen 7.1 (Gingerbread) build on the same device - particularly in terms of battery life and homescreen response time. Actual app performance has suffered a bit. That could be because I reduced the default clock speed to 1Ghz. For example, Angry Birds Space takes about a 40 seconds to load, then there is a good 20-30 second lag between when a level draws on the screen and when the app will start reacting to input.
I'm going to backup my install and try the Audacity ROM this weekend, then give that a couple of weeks as well. My T-Mo contract ends in September, so I'll keep playing with ROMs until then, then find a replacement phone with ICS native.

They're based on literally the same code. The only difference is Andromadus has a few more fixes/tweaks/features to fill in the gaps that the lack of official support from CyanogenMod leaves. The CM9 "Beta" rom does too, but they're kanged from Andromadus.
Also the kernel that both ROMs use is Fyodor's kernel (Andromadus dev).

Thanks for the explanation
Honestly, Cyanogenmod Beta 10 is probably the smoothest ics rom out there right now. Ive tried em all, and believe me, there's nothing better right now. For some reason the beta's after it (11 and 12) are alot choppier and slower overall, so don't bother with those for now.
Andromadous is the most popular because it was the first, but CM9 Beta 10 is the best. you'll be suprised how good it runs once you try it. Okay, now i'm done. i'm starting to sound like a living bill board.
I would say Andromadus is probably the best, but if you want some theming too, QuadraSense it as smooth if not smoother than andromadus

oops my bad thought i was in the forum >.<
Mods move this please
Whichever you choose, you won't be satisfied.lol
i offer to you install the revelotion roms ...
satiRM further
it really depends on what you want. lets say you want stock looking android GB so in that case your choice should "Android Revolution HD" 6.X.X I was personally using this rom for a while never had a single problem with it also battery life was very good. and also you might consider Cyanogen MOD 7.2 also GB rom with no HTC sense thats up to you Cyanogen is smooth and never had problems with it but ADW launcher which is used in Cyanogen is not that stable peace of software you would like it to be... anyway I think any GB based custom roms should be stable smooth and bugless... and its not that hard to try several custom roms and then choose your best...
now talking about ICS thats a bit different story there are lots to choose from and almost every ICS cutom rom states that its fully working but in reality I never found ICS rom which is really FULLY WORKING I would call them "almost fully working" because you can found small maybe not that important but still some glitches... Some camera effects may not work, some parts of HTC sense might be little bit buggy but of course nothing serious...
i did tried "blackout", "trickdroid", "sabsa prime" all of them was fine to use daily had some small glitches I mentioned before but no big problems keep in mind that memory "RAM" usage is a lot higher with ICS keep in mind if you multitasking alot but shouldn't be a big problem... actually tried to "break" my phone with intense usage like, listening to music, skyping, browsing web, runing games at the time, installing app from market but phone seemed able to handle all that just fine and thats good
and every ICS rom I tried had one annoying thing there was no "facebook for htc sense" so you must use that crappy facebook app to get your friend profiles synced... that really suck...
and you have an option to use "jellybean" i did tried "jellyTime" r16 had no problems with it but as much as I read about others expierence I would not consider "JT" to be stable and good choise for a new user who just wants to be sure his phone runs flawless...
I'm at moment using "sabsa prime 6.5" stayed with it because it was last rom I tried lol
sorry for my bad english
Now I need to figure out if I like sense or not I guess. thus far Jelly Bean has been my favorite on my play despite the fact that like half the stuff doesn't work >.< So we'll see...
Thx for all the places to start.
Sabsa prime best

Have you ever try CodefireX? The best ever!
iam using Cosmic Sandwich V2 after tersting Trickdroid and JellyTime. IMO its a solid experience for those who like a snappy UI (Miui) and some of the Sense goodies.
In my opinion, skip ICS and go to Jelly Bean. Google Now, some other fun things, you'll be glad you did.
Pick a flavor (there's many options these days). I'd go with CM10 - either codefireX or Jellytime with the KangBang-Kernel v0.1 (separate thread by synergye in the dev forum)
Try coredroid multy device sense 3.5 is the best rom everything works fine even the wifi ,camera are brilliant all rom is great

There appear to be a couple of ICS/sense roms on the forum for the DHD. Most appear to have bugs and issues for one reason or other. Is there a fairly stable ICS with sense rom good for every day use?
I've been loving JellyTime R19. Been up for days without any issues. It has been exceptional.
I have flashed quite a few roms till now and have had mixed experience. Among the ICS roms, I found Trickdroid, Blackout and Nik Project X to be the best. I loved all three of them and currently using Trickdroid. I did not try too many JB roms but like Jelly time.
If you are looking for a stable ROM I would recommend CyanogenMod 7 - it runs GB.
If you want to experiment and don't mind some quirks then I would say JellyTime - it runs JB.
I started on CM7 when I first got my HTC, tried LeeDroid, another one I don't remember, back to CM7 and most recently through several revisions of JellyTime.
Of course YMMV, if you ask 10 people you will get 10 different answers. So you just have to experiment - that's the reason I went through all those different ROMs. I found that I like the CM mods (JT is based on CM10).

My first rom after rooting was Blackout ICS Incredible v3.1.0 FULLY WORKING!!! [4.0.4][Sense 3.6] but my phone has frequent blackouts during calls and i tried IceColdSandwich. This ROM was stable but i did not like the camera - no touch focus, the zoom was strange.

ive found Trick Droid 3.0.0 to be the most stable and gives me decent battery life. im running it on the inspire 4g. i live in the US west cost and running the 12.69.60.29_26.17.14.11_M radio.
Rooted my DHD a month or so ago and havent looked back since,,,
Tried a few different roms but for me i feel ARHD is still the best quality ,, everything works well, camera, audio, battery, speed etc etc
I really want to use jellytime (or icecoldsandwich for that matter) but feel its not quite as stable or dependable YET,,, do you think the camera issues along with a few other niggles will ever be sorted ?
Ice cold is pretty much 100% stable. JellyTime does have problems at times but its nothing a battery pull can't fix
Sent from PACman'd Desire HD
hows the camera in ice cold ? the picture quality is great on ARHD
Me too
I'm in the same boat. Happy with ARHD but been looking at others like Trickdroid, Jellytime, Pacman, Cosmic Sandwich etc, they all seem to have niggles like wifi tether or MMS or little camera issues.
If only HTC would release the ICS source for our device so developers could work without their hands tied behind their backs.
I'd love to move to ICS but the "what do I gain?" question doesn't have a good answer really.
Personally I'm using Sabsa Prime and the only non-fully-feature I can pick out with little bugs are the camera, namely hdr and panorama features don't work. Every else about the rom is brilliant in my eyes and still being developed. I use a different camera apk so don't have any real issues at all. Some posts I've seem refer to arrows not showing on keyboard (even though it's an option in the installer) but I use SwiftKey keyboard which is much better and arrows work with that.

I was also on ARHD until about a week ago because, like you, I was looking for a fully functional Rom with no issues. I too enjoyed ARHD for a long time and it is a great rom indeed. Only thing better I found is XGS Série's. Somehow it manages to make battery life even greater than ARHD.
I do admit I like sense, tried TrickDroid too and loved it, but battery life takes priority... Still, both ARHD & TrickDroid are both great roms also :good:

Okay well I might give them a go. I have a Nandroid backup(Apps+Data) I made with EXT4 touch Recovery.
Just on that, if I use the restore backup function, will my exact setup be restored? So, ARHD with all my apps and and settings etc? Just like rolling a full system image back on?
I have copied the backup to my computer as well to be safe.

I think the two are comparable. It's a little hard to call, because I had ARHD on for a while and wasn't "playing" with it as much so battery seemed great, but since flashing Sabsa Prime 8.5, with it's Sense 4.1 lite and all the beautiful animations etc I tend to muck around on it a fair bit, even still battery life is great.
It's definitely the best ROM I have tried thus far. (Well for me anyway)
I'm curious as to what are your favorite ROMs for the Dinc2. I have flashed many and found some good GB ROMs, and (mostly) stable ICS based ROMs. Jellybean looks nice, just not stable enough for me yet. I have a short list of favs (in no particular order):
andyBONESTOCK ( ya its a stock rom but i still like it at times)
SkyRaider Zeus 3.1
CM7.2
CM9
UKB ll
Might seem like fairly bland list but i like stability. I have tried many others but I always seem to keep coming back to one of the 5 listed above. There are a lot of great ROMs for our Dinc2 and i was just curious, what are your favorites?

I ran paranoid android for the longest time. I recently got into miui and I love that one as well
Current: Kangdemnation v0.5 - great battery life and stable
MIUI 12.9
SRZ
Currently on MIUI v4 CDMA, and love it.
I guess you could say MIUI in general, because I ran GB MIUI until January due to the amazing customization and theming abilities.
Some of my other favorites...
GBS Sense 5 with Sense 3 patch - Everything worked and you got some of the nicer features of Sense 3
UKB - Love the work Nits is doing with Sense 4, and excited to try Viper when it releases
Aero's CM10 - This is actually quite stable and very fast/smooth. There were, of course, bugs that kept me from staying with it long term.
I usually look for stability (no hot-boots or FCs), good battery life, decent speed/fluid animations, high-end features/customization. So the absence of features like 720p recording on ICS or JB wasn't a problem. I switched from CM10 because I wanted to use Skype with the ffc, but I really loved the smoothness and JB features in that one.
Currently running AE's CM10 and I love it. Beyond that, his CM9 is good and UKB is the only Sense Rom that I actually enjoy using.

It sounds interesting that's for sure. But I'm on my last day or two of using the Inc2. Once I get my GNex activated, the Inc2 will become my WiFi home phone. For that, I'll likely go back to CM7, as it seems to play the nicest with WiFi settings and GrooveIP.
Arctic Ascension v2.02 has been the most stable ROM I've tried on the Dinc2. Everything works on it including cameras, camcorder, mms, rotating softkeys, etc. It'll even automatically switch to 3G mode when sending a MMS message (only ROM i know if that does that BTW). The only problems I've heard (but never actually experienced) has been it running slowly in some installations but running the DeSensed version will take care of that.

That's odd, for me the WiFi was why I left cm7. My girlfriend was out of state for a couple months a while back so we would chat through gtalk throughout the day, every day. When I flashed cm7 everything seemed awesome, but then I noticed that my WIFI would lose connection with gtalk many times a day. I had to check gtalk constantly all day long to see if I had lost connection with it or not, and had missed many messages throughout the day (a couple hours old at times and man would she get pissed). I dont know if its cm7s WIFI management or what it was but i got tired of it. So I started using andbonestock and good ole gb, with the 'best WIFI performance' setting on and never lost a WIFI connection with gtalk after that. It could also have something to do with my WIFI in my house though, as most the time the performance of it pretty much blows.
i like "TSM UKB II 1.3.1 (sense4 ics)" best overall so far.

Weird. I've never had that issue. My router is in my bedroom, so I've always had a great signal. I would go back to SkyRaider or AndyBoneStock, but I really just don't like GB Sense on this phone. Not sure why, I just prefer AOSP.
For the longest time I have been running my custom vivo sense 3 port (gb of course) because of stability until I recently tried the latest miui (cdma version) built from tazz's sense ics build.
It was very stable and everything worked. Since yesterday I've been running stunner's global cm9 build and I must say it is very stable so far. 720 recording works and all. The only issue with that one is an upside down ffc. For now that is my daily driver.
I recently had to move back to my desire after my newer ICS orange san diego developed an overheating problem.
It currently has CyanogenMod7 on it but I would like to put a similarly stable and performant ICS or JB ROM on it.
It seems there are a number of ROMs still under pretty active development and I'm having a hard time in choosing between them.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a stable ROM with reasonable performance that I could stick on the desire?
I do use the video camera from time to time so would preferably like a ROM where this was working to reasonable standard.
My phone is S-OFF, rooted, unlocked, 2GB sd-ext, CM7r2 HBOOT (will likely be swapping this back for stock HBOOT).
Thanks in advance for any replies!
These threads arent really allowed, but ill give you some info.
Go with JB over ICS. I dont think there are any ICS roms actively developed currently, and overall JB has better performance. I havent had video recording work in any JB rom (its not that important for me anyways), but i think a few ICS roms have it working.
You wont have the same stability and performance as GB, but there are still a few good options that i have used as daily drivers:
Paranoid Android 4.3 by WoH
ChromiumROM (CM10.1) by me
Evervolv by nikez
Thanks very much for the reply and apologies for posting a 'not allowed' thread. *slaps wrist*
I have already DLed Chromium so will give that a try first. It was failing to install but then I realised that's cos of my HBOOT so going to sort that first and then get Chromium installed.

Yep, most jb roms need stock hboot to fit their large system sizes, however you can generally slim them down yourself to get them running on data++ hboot. I'll probably release a slimmed version of chromium ROM soon.

I noticed that you released build 11 last night so I flashed that and all looks to be working really great so far. Very impressed with the ROM, appears to be stable from my limited testing. Had one issue where it got stuck on the widgets screen and wouldn't show homescreen but was fine after a restart and hasn't reoccurred since.
Another mod I made was to set the pixel density to 200 which works really well on the desire, can get a lot more on the screen.
Is the issue with the video camera pretty fundamental and unlikely to get resolved?
Still amazed that JB can run so well on such an old phone.
Thanks for the rom, sterling work!

It's my orange san diego that is overheating, although my desire has previously over-heated but that was fixed under warranty. I might try taking it apart and cleaning the contacts as that guide suggests though in the hope of getting it working again.
Been running chromium for a few days now and it's been very stable. Only issue I've had is the error 'google text to speech engine has stopped' keeping on popping up. It is a bit sluggish but I expected that really and I do have a lot of apps installed.
