[Q] Boot loop/screen issue - HTC One X

After replacing old screen at official service my One X started to work badly, at first it were constant messages about system process crashes, then a boot loop occured. I tried to erase cache, but it take no effect. I've made factory reset and all started to work normally, but after 2 days I spotted that my screen doesn't respond. I can switch it on/off, control volume, but buttons or screen don't work at all. Reboot sometimes fixes this issue, but more often a boot loop occures. Again. I have no customize at all, everything is default and phone is unrooted. Need some advice how to fix it.

I have a similar issue. My phone started rebooting, getting to the point where it displayed the HTC logo, and then starting over again. Later, I got it to boot normally, but the touch screen won't respond to touch anymore.
I should note that the troubles first started after I found my phone lying in a puddle of water.
Good thing this happened now, so that I at least have a proper excuse to spend way too much money on the new X+.

Weird problem

Hi guys, I'm having this WEIRD WEIRD problem after messing around with the phone.
Here's what happened:
2 days ago, I received the phone. After unboxing it and playing with it for like 10 minutes, turning it on and off often, messing round with the features. Then, the phone rebooted by itself. After that, boot loop. It'd get stuck at the green HTC screen forever. I have no idea what happened, so I tried factory reset. Didn't work. Recovery, also stuck. So I brought it home and looked into rooting/flashing.
Now, the phone is running RUU_Bravo_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.19.707.7_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126179_signed. SOMETIMES, the phone would boot in and I would be able to use it, but most often it'd just keep restarting and then hang at the green HTC screen, or maybe get the quietly brilliant and then restart.
What should I do? I have the RUU for 1.19.707.6, but with that RUU, it keeps saying that it can't see my phone. Sigh.
I can get into fastboot, but no guarantee after that. What should I do? Can't bloody swap it, coz I imported it

sounds like a h/w problem to be honest
Is it possible that this is a firmware problem? I'd hate to have to send it back for repairs, cost a lot.
I did the heap-test command, and everything is ok. So where could the problem be?. Can't even boot using fastboot oem boot. Any ideas?
PS: I think I have the correct RUU for my phone. Always complete without a hitch.

Random Reboots GSM GN 4.1.1 All Stock

Hi, I have a completely stock GSM GN on 4.1.1 and just since two days ago I have been getting random reboots. Only reason I can even tell is because I have my phone encrypted (lost phone and my data is in a strangers hands? No thanks) so every time it happens it sits at the prompt for me to input the password.
I initially tried clearing the dalvik-cache and that didn't work. So, I did a complete wipe and reflashed the stock images via the GN Toolkit. That also didn't work. Finally, I went through and uninstalled all apps that were installed or updated within the last week of August and it still didn't work.
I am at wits end here. I've owned my GNexus since the beginning of July and never had a problem like this. Any suggestions would be recommended.
EDIT:
I have also noticed that while I am using the device the screen sometimes flickers black for a second and then comes back on. Its not like the CRT Off animation you get when you hit the power button, just simply the screen goes black and then a second later comes back
Just bumping because I changed the issue from a hot restart to a proper reboot since I just got it doing a full at "Google" image reboot. Once it did just do a "Nexus Logo" reboot though.

Galaxy S3 wont boot

So I had my Galaxy S3 since it came out. A few months ago I noticed it shut off and wouldn't turn back on. (it would vibrate when the battery was inserted, goto samsung boot screen and never go anywhere from there) I noticed this site and a lot of others having the same problem so I began to trouble shoot.
I cleared my cache by getting into the boot screen and that seemed to fix my problem.
Now about 2-3 months later it started doing the same thing! This time clearing the cache did nothing, heck sometimes I can't even get a chance to clear the cache without it restarting on me again. Sometimes (if I'm lucky) i'll get it to boot up and it will go to home screen without a problem. Little to know it shuts off without warning and I'm stuck at the beginning.
This phone has never been rooted. Please help! I'm using a mytouch 4g now and this thing is slow as molasses! Do I have any chance to recover my s3 or is it sudden death syndrome?
Also I had alot of pictures/videos on the internal hard drive of this phone, is there anyway to retrieve those since my phone can't even boot up?

I am currently having the same exact issue. I suspect it is a faulty power switch. I will be replacing it, if it works i will update and let you know

I've heard of that too, I took apart my s3 and removed the power button as well as blew some compressed air through it. Still didnt work but yes keep me updated!
I ripped my power switch from the motherboard. To turn it on you plug it in and hold home and volume down to go to the odin screen. click volume down to reboot the phone. I am waiting for a new switch to come in the mail which I will attempt to solder onto the board.

reboots and corrupt display -intermittent

Ok, just want to know if anyone has any experience with any of these tabs exhibiting this behavior. I bought my wife a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 (SM-T310) WiFi only. Soon as I got it I updated it to the latest factory version (4.4.2 I believe). Then when rebooting I noticed it would just keep going through the initial boot logo, black, and then the boot logo again. So I presed the power button 10 seconds then it booted fine. When using the unit sometimes it would randomly reboot. SEEMS like when turning the unit back on from sleep mode often. I did a factory reset on it via the settings the first time, but same problem. I did a second factory reset this time via the recovery menu, first wiping the cache partition then factory reset. I THOUGHT I figured it out that it was just the power button getting stuck because I was able to reproduce that behavior if I held in the power button when I though I just pressed it briefly normally. So I thought OK, this is ok I don't have to send it in for repair because it's just that the power button gets stuck sometimes. But then another issue appears. The display will get all lines in it without being able to read ANYTHING at all. Like there's a problem with the LVDS connection to it. I bought this from Newegg refurbished, but kept it away for over 30 days and gave it to my wife on her birthday. Now I'm going to try to send it in for repair/exchange via the 90 day refurbished product company support to some other company (http://www.consumerservicerefurbish.com/) but I was just wondering if anyone could chime in. I search here and google but couldn't find any mention of a corrupt display issue like the one that popped up last night. Really weird.
Mine from NewEgg works great. Definitely send it back. It has a hardware issue.

It froze, went black, and now it is weird.

Hello,
This is what have happened:
I was browsing via Chrome, when phone froze. Well, no big deal. It went black, and I couldn't power it back on. I was on rehersal, so I left it on the table for an hour.
Came back to it, tried to power it on, and after 20sec or so of holding Power button, Google appeared. And it disapeared again.
And that is it.
I can access bootloader, and recovery.
From there I tried to flash fresh img, but my device is locked. Went the other way. I downloaded latest OTA and went to adb sideload, and it downloaded it all to phone, but same thing with booting. It stops.
Sometimes it even goes to those circle animations on booting, but than it freezes again, and turns off.
Any hope for my 2 years friend now
Thanks.
@Nuuq: by searching for 'brick' 'bootloop' you find for example this thread Hope, it helps.
Exact same thing happened to me this morning. I was playing Clash Royale, and it froze. Rebooted, and it just went to Google screen and nothing else. I let it sit for an hour, and it started to boot, but froze mid-boot-animation. I can get into bootloader and recovery, so I'm going to flash the Bootloop fix this afternoon and see if it fixes it.
Odd......
I thought this was a CPU bootloop issue, so I flashed the 4-core TWRP, wiped everything, and installed the stock OPR4.170623.006 system, vendor, and thne 4-core boot.img I found in the bootloop thread. I got a little farther, say 5 minutes instead of 5 seconds, but it was still crashing and bootlooping! I couldn't activate the phone, cuz it was rebooting while waiting for my 2-factor authentication text, and when I tried wiping it again, it was rebooting while in TWRP while re-flashing the system. The more I try to fix it, the worse it gets...
I may just give up on the phone, and contact Project Fi support to see if they'll give me a new one.
Same here guys...put inside the the fridge for about an hour and it started, just in time to save my photos on Google photo...but as soon as I start to use it, it freeze, turn off, no reboot. If I reboot, it freezes on circles Google animation...i can enter in bootloader and recovery too...any suggestion?
Same problem - merrily browsing -> crashed and now bootlooping - can get to the bootloader menu but can't get into recovery mode
Running Oreo 8.0
I flashed the 4-core TWRP, and it was crashing even in that. Last night, it sat for 3 hours on the activation page, and never froze, but anytime I try to use it, it freezes. It sometimes turns on, but most of the time it just crashes while booting.
I already use Google Photos, and my texts are synced through Fi hangouts, so I'm not worried about losing anything. I've wiped my phone and started over maybe a dozen times over the past year. Different ROMs, kernels, etc. I just want a working device.
I called Google, and they said nope. They want me to call LG, but my brother has had 2 bootlooping 5x, and LG didn't help with either of his. I doubt LG will help me here, cuz I bought it from the Google Store. I think I have 3 options:
1) pay to gave the CPU reflowed. If I went this route, I would want to upgrade to 3GB or 4GB of RAM at the same time. If I do this, I still have to deal with my battery only holding a 70% of it's charge, and not wanting to spend $50 on a 2 year old OEM batter.
2) Upgrade to a used Pixel. I'm sure with the Pixel 2 coming out, lots of people are going to be upgrading, and I'm sure there will be a bunch of used Pixels showing up. But, you're still buying a used phone that's been out for a year now...
3) Upgrade to the Android One Moto X4. The word "upgrade' is used loosely, as it's VERY similar to our 5Xs. Similar benchmarks, similar screens, similar primary cameras, almost the exact same dimensions, etc. It would be an upgrade with 3GB RAM, bigger storage, SD card slot, 2nd rear camera, better GPS, bigger battery, new (not used), and a few other minor tweaks. Con is that it's so new, there are no ROM/kernels for it yet
I think I just talked myself into a X4 while writing this. We'll see what the wife says.
it happen for me but me i can boot to bootloder but the phone become very slow i just escape from bootloop i turn it on and after 2 week he bootloop again now only fastboot no recovery and no system how i do

Hmm, putting it in the freezer gets it to boot but rapidly crashes again - looks like it is the hardware rather than software
