What's easiest way to get root back ???
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Right. Sorry for loads of posts. But have updated boot loader still has unlocked symbol and su app is still there but don't think its working.
CWM is gone along with root.
So do I need to use root toolbox again and start as if it was fresh again
Cheers for help

When you flash the OTA manually, you will lose your temporary CWM and your bootloader will still be unlocked (you want this).
Just follow the guides to re-root.
Have tried flashing via recovery with no luck I end up getting stuck on white htc screen then tried through ROM manager and no luck I got the 7.2 release from cm website not sure what went wrong I'm rooted on android 2.3.4 and was not on any other ROM before trying this.

Might be better off with goo manager and installing twrp. Also when you have an issue, give as much detail so people can be more helpful

Well okay what more detail needed ?

Trying Goo manager although when I try to load twrp it forces close, someone help me I want to ROM this up. I'm rooted and have clockwork but have no luck flashing
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda app-developers app
Check the md5 sum and see if it matches up, or if ur lazy re-download the rom, just make sure its for incredible 2. It could be a bad download. Also I believe you have to flash the kernel after the rom as well

Okay some help here I know it was right ROM, how do I get right kernal ?
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda app-developers app
Roms have the kernel included no reason to flash different kernel unless you are wanting to change clock settings or voltages or fix problems such as volumes.

Thank you, okay so can anyone link me with a ROM reliable one ?

ClockworkMod is the recovery I started out with, it should work just fine and will not affect flashing a ROM. After a few weeks I switched over to 4ext recovery. But I would get a little more familiar before jumping around to much. Have you successfully flashed a custom rom yet? One other thing you may check is the radio version, I recommend upgrading to the .312 or .320 radio.
Not on this phone done rooting on nook color and my first Android so I need to flash a radio and a ROM ?

Download condemned cm.7.2 on your PC and put it in the root of your SD card. I hope you made a backup of your old ROM before you tried this seeing as you're not booting atm

I haven't seen this answered (or I'm blind)...Are you S-Off, or HTC Unlocked?
I am s off help me
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Okay sorry correction I am only unlocked do I need to s off ?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Now everything makes more sense...The preferred method for flashing roms here is s-off. It can be done without. I believe the method involves extracting the boot.img from a rom then after flashing the rom, flash the boot.img with fast boot. I haven't done it, so I can't give you better details on that, however it is covered at length in many of the rom threads, so I think a search for "boot.img" should get you on your way quickly. You'll probably want to search with the desktop version of xda.
Edit: However, I think the consensus is that getting s-off isn't terribly hard and saves a lot of headache down the road, so I would recommend that. Again, there are threads with all the info you need.
Thank you, looked at s off method and going to try that tonight then I should be churning through Roms thank you !

No problem. I do have one more suggestion. When you are s-off and comfortable with things, find the twrp thread in development. It's my opinion, and I can't say I've tried all the options, but twrp is way easier to use than the normal CWM. There are other options you could consider; 4ext and CWM touch. It's all about the research around here.
Is it okay if I update if I'm rooted and is there any reason not to?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
If you update with kies you will loose your root. You will hate to root it again.
Also, if you have a custom recovery the update will set the stock recovery.
But for the update, the multi windows is nice but not all app are compatible.
That's why I went to a custom rom with unlimited multi window.

So ota ill keep root? I also read the update caused weird battery life
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I don't know for ota because my status was modified and I was not able to get the update. I had a custom recovery, that's why.
For the battery life, I can't help you for this. I kept this rom for about one day and now I run the international "custom" rom with unlimited multi window.

I've tried millions of time to install super user.. But it keeps telling me error when it tries to update... Is it the mdl build or something else
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
If you're running stock, MDL blocks root access. Flash any of the custom kernels to get around the restriction and try updating again.
Thank you so much... I was wondering why it didn't work..... Yeah I was running a stock rom but now I'm using infamous S4 build

If you are on TWRP you are not still on stock recovery which should mean that you can install SuperSU from within TWRP.

Im trying to odin my phone back to stock because I want to sell it. Ive tried many times using the latest odin version and the android 4.0.4 file. I read somewhere about something like the bootloader being on 4.3 or higher while the software is still on 4.0 and that is a reason why it is not booting past the glowing samsung logo.
Anyways im just looking for a file that contains The Bootloader and PDA file to go into Odin
Thank You
Was your phone ever running a stock AT&T 4.3 ROM? If it was, you can't just Odin back to stock 4.3 because AT&T never released a complete 4.3 ROM. AT&T updated the ROM to 4.3 via OTA updates.

I was running a custom 4.4.2 rom. If that helps at all
Is there an Odin file for the stock 4.0.4 boot loader at all?
To avoid bricking you must verify you don't have the 4.3 bootloader. If you're on a lower version, stock FW is I747UCDLK3 4.1.1

When trying to flash 4.04 via Odin, what error message do you get? Are you able to boot your phone into the existing OS?
It cannot boot past the samsung logo so I cannot check root checked.
@aidit13 I do not get am error. After it says "Pass" it reboots and doesn't go past the blinking Samsung logo

Flash again with Odin but do not check auto reboot. When the firmware has been flashed and you see the word reset, wait about 30 seconds, pull the battery, disconnect the USB cable, boot into recovery, do a factory reset, wipe cache, and reboot.
+1 audit13's advice. If 4.0.4 won't work that way, can you reflash the custom 4.4.2 Rom?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
All you need is a factory reset from recovery. It's a common problem going from aosp to tw roms. Also, check your gps after it boots. If it doesn't work, Google "alternate gps fix xda" and that will fix you up
