I'm using Sabsa Prime(ICS) and Movie app is still not open.. on my devices.
(Friends have Galaxy S3, S2, and Nexus downloaded that from Android Market without any obstacles)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.videos
forcibly open that link on DHD(on Search it doesn't appear), it still says incompatible.
it's weird.. Evo 4G+ user review exists. Nexus S user also does. but DHD.
However, that's fine. I got an apk. installed 2.1.9(October 3, 2012) to watch a movie I bought.
After allowing access to my Google Account, movies I bought listed on app.
I pushed play button loading a while then ended with crap; It just says "Couldn't fetch license. ( 43 )"
Googled there's a problem with rooted device so I unroot it.
Disabled Root SuperSU and reboot : "Couldn't fetch license. ( 43 )"
Clean Unroot and reboot : "Couldn't fetch license. ( 43 )"
Anybody watching videos Google Play Movie on DHD without problems?

It is still marked as incompatible by Google so You have to spoof yours as Galaxy S2 to install app from market(have apk you'll be fine) and to open Movie category in Market.
There's one problem is you have to uninstall then re-install(from apk file, Market saying incompatible and.. Google Movie App doesn't have button "Clear Data" on App info) to watch movie.
Watch it from first is MUST. otherwise, "There was a problem while playing" or Error 31
Adblock? seems they aren't affected.
Try using Lucky Patcher and remove license checking from the app.
You need root for the app though.
- hit my thanks button if i helped you -
I have a way. I dunno this moderate way will work but I'll try it.

On Galaxy S2, working very fine AND can watch movie OR pin it.
On DHD, still error 43. Why this happens.??
Google Play Movie minimum requires is Froyo.
DHD have GingerBread officially, and have WVGA screen as SGS2!
+YouTube HQ works very fine. (no HD and it is same on SGS2).
also, found new user review from SGS1, says "Why could not get license."
from users have Galaxy Note 1, Optimus LTE 1 said the same.
seems Google Play Movie REALLY ONLY WORKS ON GalaxyNexus or newer Nexus or Galaxy S2, S3.
Try deleting data and cache for the app. Check the sd storage for folders beginning with a dot, example .android secure etc. And delete any that might be related to the issue, the app will recreate the folder after you delete it.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
still 43.

deleted /mnt/sdcard/Android/data/com.google.android.video and com.google.android.video. then I force closed it.
There was a button "Manage Spaces", instead "Delete Data". so I uninstalled it and installed it again.
It re-loads my purchased movies list and I allowed its access, but still 43.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a Market button on Action Bar. However, it doesn't open "Movies",
just opens Market home after few 'loading's and gray-outs.
(Apps, Books, and Movies are available in my country. not music, magazines yet.)
I forgot, no Movies in Android Market home on my device. (both on 3.8.17 and 3.9.16)
Checking user reviews frequently,
found Wildfire S(positive user review) can watch Movies.
Evo 4G, Sensation 4G also reported not working.
I think this app and actions Google taken are just crap.
Missing, incomplete or broken drm files in custom roms seem to be the culprit. Rooted devices do work, google lifted the restriction earlier this year. Try disabling any adblockers and restore a real hosts file, should only contain 1 entry 127.0.0.1 localhost. Might be blocking the license server. If it is still broken then the rom is the issue.

10 days ago from you replied to me, I have figured out with other conditions (including you recommended) concluded not to pay Google for Playable things.
(wrote in CAPS.. Sorry this makes me no way out)
NEITHER
Busybox 1.18.0 and 1.20.2-Stericson installed
ROOTed and UNrooted
WITH and withOUT Ad-Blocker (real host file with entry 127.0.0.1 localhost only)
on Sabsa Prime(4.0~8.0) and Stock Gingerbread ROM-3.13.1010.2
CAN PLAY MOVIE. It's just saying 43.
First of all, DHD has been set incompatible by Google on Android Market.
Maybe this is a Huge Point. I have no idea Why Google did this. even it's not 720p, 1080p. Same as Youtube HQ, 360p on mobile or 480p Web.

Would it be possible with the current Marketplace restrictions to develop a streaming client for Grooveshark?
Nanogroove and GrooveFish did that on Windows Mobile, it would be great to have such a client on Windows Phone 7, i would definitely pay for such an app.
Also there is a thread going on, on the official Grooveshark forums but there is no official answer till now.
The official clients on iPhone and Android are coded really well and add a great value to the platform.
If you like Grooveshark help us put some pressure on them

I had a quick glance at the source for one of the Windows Mobile grooveshark applications. Looks like it just uses basic HTTP JSON requests to post/receive data, so it shouldn't really be an issue.
The only problem would be, what would you do while listening to Grooveshark? Because as soon as you want to do something else it has to stop
I know that there is no multitasking on WP7 and that only Zune can play in background. But as long you are in the app you can lock the screen an continue to listen to music, which would be totally enough for me.
Otherwise would there be a way to play the songs directly in the Zune player?
There is some kind of interaction with Zune and 3rd party apps, at least i can see some youtube videos and radio streams in my Zune player history.

This could well be possible. I may have a look into doing this this weekend. There are too many differences in the old .NET Compact source code for a direct port, but it should be easy enough to get a proof of concept pretty quickly (assuming the device supports the data received from Grooveshark).
but i would have thought zune pass is good enough? Then again, if youre in a country without zune pass that might be a problem (i dont have access to zune pass and am waiting )

It is, but it's also £86 for the year. Grooveshark (via the internal APIs) is free.
edit: I managed to write a quick library to query Grooveshark and pull back some results. Unfortunately the MediaElement is having some trouble playing the MP3 stream when it really should be fine.
If anybody has any ideas why this isn't working, we would basically have a fully functional Grooveshark app

Wow, thanks. The playing fails because of AG_E_NETWORK_ERROR error. After some searching:
I found a suggestion to add &.mp3 to the end of the stream URL, but that didn't work for me.
I've also tried it on my HTC Mozart (with unplugged cable, since I've read that media streaming on the device doesn't work while it's connected to the PC), but that didn't work too.
I've tried to compare Grooveshark MP3 file/codec info with some other MP3 that I can play without any problems using MediaElement. I did it because WP7 supports only specific codecs. Unfortunately I haven't found any differences.
I've tried to extract Location header from the stream to get exact location to the file. Header doesn't exist.
Now I'm scared that it might be impossible to create Grooveshark player until we get update for WP7 API.
Anyhow, if you find anything to make it work, please let me know. I'm really interested into that.

I don't think it has anything to do with the encoding, but I did notice that these don't work:
http://download.linnrecords.com/test/mp3/recit.aspx (MP3)
http://download.linnrecords.com/test/wma/recit24bit.aspx (WMA, should work no matter what)
While this does:
http://wahiduddin.net/troubleshooting/testing.wma
http://wahiduddin.net/troubleshooting/testing.mp3
Something to do with the way the content is served. Maybe the web server is adding extra headers before sending the WMA/MP3 headers?

There's no surprise two first ones aren't working. Even the browser tries to download them instead of streaming, while the next two ones streams in the browser. The GrooveShark urls also streams in the browser (like the second ones in your post), therefore you shouldn't take first to links in your post as an example since they are forced to be downloaded.
Maybe the web server is adding extra headers before sending the WMA/MP3 headers?

As for headers, here's GrooveShark stream response headers:
Code:
HTTP/1.1 206 Partial Content
X-Powered-By: PHP/5.1.6
Cache-Control: no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate
Pragma: no-cache
Expires: Sat, 26 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT
Content-Type: audio/mpeg
Etag: "403963618"
Accept-Ranges: bytes
Last-Modified: Wed, 29 Sep 2010 11:57:11 GMT
Content-Range: bytes 0-4617321/4617322
Content-Length: 4617322
Connection: close
Date: Sun, 02 Jan 2011 14:00:40 GMT
Server: lighttpd/1.5.0
And this is some other MP3 stream that WP7 loads correctly:
Code:
HTTP/1.1 206 Partial Content
Date: Sun, 02 Jan 2011 14:02:03 GMT
Server: Apache
Last-Modified: Sun, 07 Feb 2010 18:06:12 GMT
Etag: "443d05d-15180-4b6f0114"
Accept-Ranges: bytes
Content-Length: 86400
Content-Range: bytes 0-86399/86400
Keep-Alive: timeout=15, max=100
Connection: Keep-Alive
Content-Type: audio/mpeg
There are some extra headers, but I don't think that it should make any difference.
EDITED:
Just right after posting those headers here and reading my post I've noticed this header in GrooveShark's response:
Code:
Connection: close
I think that might cause the problem.

I was thinking the same thing, probably causing the Stream to read all in one go. Problem here is that Silverlight restricts pretty much all HTTP headers so we can't override them
I did manage to get the stream to play by writing it to the Isolated Storage, then passing it onto the MediaElement:
Code:
void gf_CompleteStream(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
GroovesharkAPI.GroovesharkFunctionsEventArgs<GroovesharkAPI.ResponseObjects.Stream> gea =
e as GroovesharkAPI.GroovesharkFunctionsEventArgs<GroovesharkAPI.ResponseObjects.Stream>;
WebClient wc = new WebClient();
wc.OpenReadCompleted += new OpenReadCompletedEventHandler(wc_OpenReadCompleted);
wc.OpenReadAsync(new Uri(gea.ResponseObject.result.url));
this.txtStatus.Text = "Downloading MP3";
}
void wc_OpenReadCompleted(object sender, OpenReadCompletedEventArgs e)
{
using (var store = System.IO.IsolatedStorage.IsolatedStorageFile.GetUserStoreForApplication())
{
if (store.FileExists("output.mp3"))
{
store.DeleteFile("output.mp3");
}
using (var fs = new System.IO.IsolatedStorage.IsolatedStorageFileStream("output.mp3", System.IO.FileMode.Create, store))
{
byte[] bytesInStream = new byte[e.Result.Length];
e.Result.Read(bytesInStream, 0, (int)bytesInStream.Length);
fs.Write(bytesInStream, 0, bytesInStream.Length);
fs.Flush();
this.mediaElement1.SetSource(fs);
}
}
}
So it's definitely something to do with the way MediaElement handles the stream from the server. Another oddity in the API DLL is that the "getStreamUrlEx" method is returning the wrong song!

Could you check this app source? Maybe there's some problem with GrooveShark API in your test app.
I can suggest a little tricky solution (I've used to "hack" Google's TTS API). Yes, MediaElement can't play mp3 stream not ended by extension ".mp3". Not sophisticated design of course...
But you may create and use an URL redirector! You just need your own site running Apache with URL rewrite module installed.
Create directory, for example, "stream" and create inside a file ".htaccess" with content:
RewriteEngine on
Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^.mp3$ http://download.linnrecords.com/test/mp3/recit.aspx[NE]
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
So, you should use the following url for ME Source property:
http://yoursite.com/streaming/file.mp3
MediaElement will determine the opened stream type as mp3 but real data will came from recit.aspx.
It's just an example; your implementation may differ. But I hope you've got my point.

Thats the problem with Zune Pass in most countries it's not available right now. Also, Blade0rz mentioned it already earlier, Zune Pass is not that cheap.
I like Grooveshark better because i can use it with almost any platform, Win, Linux, MacOS, iOS, Android and maybe in near future with WP7 ^^
And you can upload your songs if Grooveshark don't have them, which i use a lot because I'm not listening to common music that much.

Great! Looking forward to this
FYI, the "random song" thing seems to have fixed itself today. URLs are coming back just fine, so there shouldn't be any barriers any more
Sorry guys, but I guess I won't be able to do the app because of lack of time. Anyhow, if anyone have enough time and skills to do the app, there's some stuff that might come in handy:
.htaccess file:
Code:
Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule ^(.*?)/(.*?).mp3$ http://$1.grooveshark.com/stream.php?streamKey=$2 [NC]
Stream URL:
Yes, I know, there are more nicer ways to do that. This is just to understand how to do the redirect and use your host as a proxy:
Code:
var newUrl = "http://www.yourhost.net/groove/" + url.Host.Replace(".grooveshark.com", "") + "/" + url.Query.Replace("?streamKey=", "") + ".mp3";
Refactored API:
I've made some refactoring to the API (comments, split classes, code optimizations etc). You can download refactored API (source + binaries) here. I hope Blade0rz won't be mind.
Suggestions:
I was planning to make the app to look very similar to Zune player on WP7. I would make a panorama app. In the first page, for starters, "Search", "Radio" and "Playlists" menu items could be added. The second page would display history (album cover) and would open "Now playing" page when clicked. In the third page, by using WP7 toolkit top/new songs/albums could be should if that is possible by the API.
Notes:
Please be aware that it's unlikely that that sort of GrooveShark app would make it to the MarketPlace since using this API is against GrooveShark TOS, therefore it's a great chance they will comply.

Technically we should be OK as long as we don't use the Grooveshark trademarks (name/logo), but MS aren't likely to be very co-operative there, so everyone should be prepared to sideload this project! Shouldn't be a problem for anyone though given the relative ease of using Chevron.
Here is even a chance to make some money.

So it's definitely worth a shot.
I had a Galaxy S Fascinate (Verizon) - after I rooted it, I discovered I could not rent movies from the Android Market. I "un" rooted it, (return to stock) - and found I was still unable to rent movies because it still considered the to be rooted.
Now I have a Galaxy Nexus - I would love to Root it and try some ROMs, but want to avoid this issue.
Has anyone successfully returned their Galaxy Nexus to Stock,and rented movies from the Android Market (Play)
thanks,
gw
I know how to fix this since i've been in a situation the other way around (wanted to get us possibilities in market from europe)
Clear cache, appdata and forceclose the following apps from settings/apps/all apps:
Download manager
Google account manager
Google services framework
Network location
Package installer
Google play store
Then reboot your phone, open play store and accept the terms and conditions again. Now Google will re-pinpoint your device location based on your sim-cards company and your position in the network. Good luck!

An easier method is using OTA Root Keeper to temporarily unroot your phone. It should work for renting movies.
The question that I have is does anyone know where if you rent a movie and download it for viewing offline what directory it is stored in on internal memory or the file extension?
Thanks,
Ok I finally figured out where it is stored. So I temp unrooted my phone made purchase and then selected download for offline viewing. So in the directory there is a file
application_4jSa8szMNjs.wvm
so i brought my root back to get into that directory then where i was stumped i figured it would be wmv mp4 3gp or whatever with drm protection but no its wvm I have never heard of wvm. so anyways I moved the wvm file to a different directly. Temporarily unrooted my phone . Then went into the google play movie app and it said that the download was missing. so i know I have the proper file. Now my question is does anyone here know anything about a .wvm file ?
What are you trying to do with it? if you're trying to keep it beyond the rental period or copy it off the phone then this probably applies to any answer you would find useful:

i second this
Wait?,There is a Flappy Bird for Fire TV?!?
Is gameplay in landscape?
The app itself has to be in landscape orientation on Fire TV,otherwise it could be simulating portrait by not using the entire screen-width,which would be as torturous as the original Flappy Bird when played on a tablet that could use landscape.
Although,portrait mode sometimes works on Fire TV for some reason.
Tip:XDA Forums supports attachments,and also supports the apk format directly.
Your limit is 20.00MB for an apk.
If it is larger than 20.00MB,try compressing it into a zip.
Zip files are also limited to a whopping 20.00MB of space.
If you have access to a Windows PC like Win7,you can take advantage of
its "Send To> Compressed (zipped) folder" a most powerful compression tool.

Yes there is. Its was specifically built for fire tv by the original creator. Not even fire tabs or phone can download it.
Got the apk file.
View attachment com.dotgears.flapfire-1.apk
Edit:Alright,can someone mod this so I don't need gamecircle or the Amazon Appstore
so I can actually testrun it?
My Fire TV's current condition with Flappy is improperly trying to open an action list instead of doing the normally assigned action. (whatever that is)
It keeps spamming me with the gamecircle after I touch the "no thanks" option.
I only caught a glimpse of the in-game portion where you select a bird.
Fire Phone good to Go!
The apk works perfectly on the Amazon Fire Phone! Wonder why they would exclude it from their own newly launched device? As for other android devices? Yea I get it, they paid Nguyen (developer) a sick amount of loot for exclusivity! Probably 6 figures?

Same thing happened with me. I had Amazon App store installed. Once the app finished installing and opened, I was immediately greeted with a screen that I do not own the app.
I tried messing around with some of the files contained in the APK, but no luck yet. Experienced modders, where you at?!?

the app it self will install and "work" on mostly any device just it wont let you play the game till it verifies some bs with the Amazon App store and also check your default mobile internet browser it might have opened some amazon pages
Report the annoying gamecircle/amazon issue to the developer as a legitimate Fire TV owner.
In a normal circumstance,you would only have the Amazon controller and the remote,meaning you can't
complete the spammed gamecircle bs.
Or maybe I botched something in post-root,and I even have the bueller IME enabled now,but not set as the
default because of the original issue. (null keyboard is my default IME)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251719 your free to follow this apk decompile and recompile guide to make this app work with everyone else i personally don't have enough storage in my 80GB laptop i know very little space so take a crack at it
Download lucky patcher apk on Google not play store. It's mainly for cracking apps but I don't condone warez. BUT it does allow for removing parts of an app. I removed some stuff and got the Amazon game circle removed but then force closed. Maybe you guys can try with it.
Also since its for fire tv, how do we know it will have touch support?

I believe it has to do with the "com.amazon.identity.auth.device.authorization" lines in the manifest.xml, but I'm having trouble parsing my signed APK. Will work on it later tonight. Let me know if anyone makes any progress.
I did not say anything before,but I can confirm pressing basically any button on my Logitech K400r Keyboard made the bird flap.
(at least when not frozen in place from the EFFIN gamecircle crap)
I really want this fixed since I feel that it is much easier than the torturous portrait-oriented version,and would be tons more fun.
I've seen a video of somebody already setting major records like 300+ points.
I am making my own clone of Flappy Birds family with basic split screen multiplayer (using modded sprites to avoid copyright of course). Should be done in a day or 2 but I may make it $.99 since it took a bit to make.
I give up. I tried several modifications to the XML manifest and various different compiling/signing tools but the furthest I've gotten is the opening screen on my Nexus 7.
On my Galaxy S5, the FBF APKs (even the original) will no longer even install. Android is mad at me.
It appears that this website has someone working on it: thedroid.net/flappy-birds-family-android-apk/
Not sure if I'm allowed to post that. I apologize if that's against the rules.

The preventrunning latest updated xposed app, is now furious, the app on blacklist, will be killed and prevented for running in any kind of intent, WITH OR WITHOUT GOOGLE AUTHORIZATIONS, OR LICENCES, the mediascanner NOW (no fakerism of perapphacking that "SAYS" that prevent "only services"), is being rreally stopped and forbidded to run again until the preventRunning authorize.
After i downloaded this app, aparently, an evident prefacy i THINKED:
(Google is burning on fury and send an attack for the site).
piebridge.me us a chinese site, xposed apps are hosted on a subdomain named "repo.xposed.info", that redirects the installer for piebridge.me

It's apparent that it is a log file for an app on the phone.
Could your phone be hacked? if you truly were then you wouldn't see a log file. Let alone a log file saying that something couldn't connect to a samsung server.
If in doubt perform a full factory data reset and set the phone back up without using a backup. Do not install anything on the phone other then updates to what was on the phone originally. Use it like this for half a week to a week... if the log fle appears then it's probly from one of the apps on the phone.
Your issues are probably (80-90% likely until you make a proper new thread asking for help) entirely seperate from this.
Chances are either you have outdated firmware/software, hardware failures/problems, expectation/reality matters, or just need to do a factory data reset. If you choose to do the factory data reset then avoid using a backup to restore apps and settings (cuz if the issue was from an app or setting then the issue is most likely included with the backup).
I found some weird things in Hidden Sys apps as well: "Circular ver1.0" five instances of it 0.0B, "Filled" - also 5 instances, "Gestural Navigation Bar" - 10 times, "Rounded" x4 and some other 0.0 B apps., does anyone know what for are they and why they propagate in so many instances? Thanks in advance.
It was really bothering me that I couldn't find solid information on this. I went pretty deep down the rabbit hole this morning. So far, this is what I've found out:
Worth Noting;
-- If you crawl the subdomains for the logged domain samsungapps,com it's related to Samsung Galaxy Apps.
-- ureca subdomain was registered in 2009 (first Galaxy phone release)
-- "Growth" seems to be related to marketing via the Galaxy Store.
-- There seems to be Knox relations as well. I will speculate further down below.
After sorting through a ton of data, as if it couldn't be safely assumed by the domain, the ureca URL is embedded in the Samsung Apps, Theme Store, and Game Launcher, that I've found so far. Take a look at some interesting strings I found in the APKs;
Package Name
com.samsung.android.themestore
Internal Version
520110303
Displayed Version
5.2.01.10303
]https://ureca.samsungapps.com/collect/billing_usage_log
]https://ureca.samsungapps.com/collect/theme_sa_log
]https://cn-ureca.galaxyappstore.com/collect/theme_sa_log
Package Name
com.sec.android.app.samsungapps
Main Activity
com.sec.android.app.samsungapps.SamsungAppsMainActivity
Internal Version
450509140
Displayed Version
4.5.05.9
]https://ureca.samsungapps.com/collect/iap_usage_log
(There are also iap subdomains @ samsungapps too, fwiw)
BUT, I have no idea what devices these are coming off of. Some APKs are varying wildly. Some report spyware, trojans, etc, too. Most by only 1 AV vendor though. If anyone has more time than me, take a look. Not sure if Knox is the "backdoor", the 'diamond' and 'zirconia' subdomains looked interesting. Or if it's a false hit, the Chinese govt, or if the APKs are from a repo and they're malicious. Didn't look into it in the slightest.
