EDIT: Probably fixed. Looks like switching to the "on demand" scheduler (or something else I did) has restored performance, at least after playing with it for a couple of minutes. Leaving this here for now in case it helps someone slightly.
Hey guys, I apologize in advance if this has been discussed, but I haven't found anything through doing some searches.
I started noticing intermittent slowdowns during gameplay on my Xperia Play during FPSE. I figured it was something to do with performance being sketchy on Final Fantasy IX anyway.
Then the weird part - I started noticing this same slowdown playing Pokemon Silver on GBA A.D. I have never experienced any lag even playing on my old Optimus V. So I'm thinking this is kind of strange.
The interesting thing is that I'm able to end the slowdown by pressing the menu key and then going back to the game.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had problems like this. I believe I didn't have the problem when I was on GB.
Currently, this is my setup:
ICS++
DoomKernel
OC to 1.6 Ghz (I reverted it to stock levels when I noticed this problem to see if there was instability - it hasn't helped).
brazillianwax scheduler (I'm going to play around with this and see what happens)
I've uninstalled some nasty background-sucking apps like Facebook to see if that will help, but it looks like that didn't do anything. I also cleared the current running programs, again not doing much of anything.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I might go try some other ROMS perhaps, like Darkforest or even going back to GB. I would prefer not to go back to GB because of how N64oid has analog touch controls working in ICS only. If anyone knows if it's possible to go back to GB while preserving analog touch controls in N64oid and FPSE that would be really good.
The FPSE forum seems to be moving at a pretty slow pace so I'm hopeful that I may be able to find some assistance here more quickly.
For a while I've had the FPSE Playstation emulator on my Samsung Epic 4G Touch and it has worked pretty well for me thus far. I have recently decided to try getting Final Fantasy VII to work and the game will start up as normal bringing me to the opening credits video. This is where my problem becomes apparent. Any key input doesn't get registered. If anything messing around with the settings has only made it worse as originally the screen would still vibrate when pressed, but now it doesn't even do that. (For other games the vibration seems to be missing now regardless of the feedback setting, though key input is still registered.) As a result I'm left unable to reach the screen where you start a new game as the opening video will continue to loop until any key input is registered. Essentially the game is unplayable while this issue persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Ive played that game not to long ago but stopped because when tifa gets her "break" skill the game goes like 1 fps so i gave up afterwards. But from what ur experiencing maybe its fpse update ? I havent tried it since ive stopped but i know fpse has been updating.

Sorry friend, this sounds more like a App problem so you probably aren't going to be able to get much help here. Have you tried emailing the developer?
Yes, I do understand that desire has issues with multitouch, but this is something else. Example: When playing pewpew 2 and tapping both sticks, they both go crazy and get pulled up. Btw, this isn't axis crossing issue, because one stick is in upper left and other stick is in lower right corner. Also, everything works fine on gingerbread rom. This issue happens in other games too and it happens with every ics/jb rom i tried so far. Is there a way to fix this?
O Anyway, i've tried to play vice city on nikez ics rom and it works great, much better than on gingerbread. However, there is one issue: when pressing two buttons at once, controls disappear! After that, i have to quit the game and run it again for controls to get back. And no, game doesnt freeze. I can still move the camera, open map etc. But everything else is impossible. This issue doesn't happen on gta 3 or on gingerbread roms, so i wonder, is there a way to fix it?
Hello,
Just a couple of quick questions regarding Netflix, maybe it only involves a simple fix. Went through and got cm11 running very smooth on the ouya. No hiccups, bugs, or major setbacks with anything. Everything that I use seems to be working fine, except for Netflix.
It loads properly and seems to work, but ever since I hit the "expand" button in the lower right corner, it won't back out of full screen. It would pull any controls whether I click on screen or press any buttons on my keyboard. The only way to back out is by pressing ESC on my keyboard.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app, rebooting after logging in, deleting the data/cache from the app, also tried installing a couple of older apk's(3.0 & 2.4?) And the problem is still there. Granted its such a minor setback in a huge breakthrough overall, but I was just wondering how to fix that.
Factory reset? Maybe just a bug with Netflix for android? I don't have any other means of trying this out. Regardless, cm11 has brought new life into this console, thanks !!

Yeah, apparently that's normal behavior for us CM11 folks.. (Actually not sure if it's the same in stock ROM because I didn't try it on stock)
I get the same thing no matter what controller or remote I try. It seems like Netflix doesn't recognize or acknowledge player control / commands on the device or ROM. It does respond to 'left' and 'right' arrow commands for rewind a scene/chapter and skip, respectively, however... But to pause you have to hit 'Back' or 'Esc' and hope it actually picks up in the same spot you exited out of the video stream... I don't seem to mind it so much compared to the other issue I'm seeing: Sometimes the video gets stuck or freezes on a frame, but the audio will continue. The video will eventually catch up, but apparently it occurs most often when another device is using just a bit of Internet bandwidth... However, my WDTV box seems to handle that much better. I'm assuming because I never see Netflix do any buffering on the Ouya, and I don't see any setting that helps with that.
I managed to get netflix on a stockplus ROM. I honest don't remember how the controls were, didn't use it much. I also don't remember which apk it was, other than it had a black loading screen.
Overall, its not a deal breaker, since I mainly use xbmc, but having netflix would be a plus. Are all netflix apk's responding that way? On the cm11, I mean.

You can just go to the Play Store and install the "regular" Netflix app on CM11. Works like any tablet version would with a controller.

Click to collapse
I've tried that and it seems to retain the full screen setting, which is the problem in question. Even after uninstalling it & reinstalling it, from the play store.
Plus, how do you sync an ouya controller to cm11? That's not that important since I've been using the k400, but to play gta it would be nice to know.
Thanks dude
If you've flashed the zip with all the button layouts, pairing the controller is as simple accessing the Input and Controllers menu, and holding down the U on the Ouya controller until it enters pairing mode. I know I'm missing a step in the menu, but its there, you'll see it. Promise
