[Q] One V versions? - HTC One V

First of all, hi everybody! This is my first post, coming from the Nexus S which suddenly decided to die while charging. That was an awesome phone, and I hope the One V will step up and take its place successfully.
Now, in he NS forums, there was a thread with all the different versions of the phone, but I haven't found something similar here.
Can anybody help me in finding out which version I have? And maybe a list of other versions?
(completely stock for now)
HTC One V T320e
Software version: 2.22.707.2
Baseband version: 20.76.30.0835U_3831.19.00.120
Build number: 2.22.707.2 CL92876 release-keys

For staters there are only 2 versions (if we don't count in PrimoDS (dual sim) which is called Desire V.
There is PrimoU, the GSM and PrimoC the CDMA version. If you use the phone with a SIM card, then it is PrimoU. The primo is the codename of the phone.
HTC has regional softwares (not including the carrier types of course, like T-mobile). Updates comes according to your CID, the main regions are WWE_Europe, China, Arabic, Asia, India, HongKong, USA or America (but those are mainly CDMA phones). These are the most common ones I'we known so far. So software differs from place to place .
According your data, you have 2.22.2 sw version (707 is the region code) and a T320e which is PrimoU if I'm correct, so GSM with SIM card.
The 707 region code means you use the WWE_Asia ROM, so the phone originates from asia.
Please note that if you root your phone going back to stock won't be that easy, not to mention that if you unlock your phone HTC will know it in the service, so warranty will be a question of good-will for the service.
Eventough I say that, my phone is like a snail on the stock even with OC kernel compared to CM10 .

Thank you very much! That is correct, I am using a SIM card so it's the GSM one. I had no idea that there were basically two versions, and a couple of software versions (that's what happens when coming from a different system I guess).
I also saw that rooting would be tricky, unlike the Nexus S, but I still chose HTC over Samsung for my next phone, because Sam's build quality let me down big time. This really feels premium, for such a (relatively) budget phone.

In any case that you need the official RUU, here it is : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30994089&postcount=121
Rooting is not that hard when you know what you are doing. But unlocking the bootloader with HTC own unlocking method, it may void the warranty but that I believe depends on which country. For me, I don't have any problem when claiming the warranty so far.

debranding UK O2 Desire.

Hi
My desire has firmware : 1.20.207.3 CL171460 release-keys
I'm debating debranding it and putting the latest generic rom on it.
The reason for this is I'm moving from the UK to NZ, but would like to get the 2.2 firmware upgrade.
From what I've read, debranding will allow me to upgrade when I'm out of the UK.
Is this safe to do ? I don't want to brick my new phone !!
Can you advise how I would do this or if there is any other option for me !!
Many Thanks
Hi sorry to pick this one up as not answered but I am in exactly this position.
Bought a Desire from o2 in UK and moved to New Zealand.
VF NZ sim works straight out the box,
but will I be able to 2.2 this phone? My sw is 1.20.207.3.
Obviously dont need any o2 features on this phone as I wont be using their network?
Cheers from both.
Debrand using a ROM and guide, both can be found on this forum. I used a WWE ROM and it worked for me without any issues. You should then get any OTA updates as soon as they're released in your region.
Hope this helps.
Rik.

You can tell if its branded as you will have the phone carriers wallpapers, ringtones etc added to your phone. When 2.2 comes out if you are on branded you are most likely going to be the last person in the world to get the update unlike unbranded phones. Some phone carriers also like to print a logo of the phone carrier on the casing of the phone.
as a guess if you go to :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667
the rom you will need if it is branded is the RUU_Bravo_hTC_Asia_India_1.21.720.4_Radio_32.36.00 .28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_127705_signed.exe
Thx For Reply...but as i told earlier....Desire has not released in INDIA yet.....
Is it really possible that we have ROM specially for INDIA....?????

Hi,
From your software version it's looks like you have unbranded phone made for asia region.
Yes, you should root. Recommended. Worth it.

[Q] Query on Preinstalled Stock ROM

Hi I am planning to flash a custom ROM on my HTC desire A8181.
One of the prerequisites i found is that i keep a copy of my Stock ROM ready.
I couldnt find the specific froyo RUU for my Bravo -HTC Desire on shipped-roms(dot)com website neither on XDA.
My Build number is 2.13.720.2 and Baseband Version 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 . Is it necessary that i should use the exact same custom ROM or can i use one that is with the same baseband version.
Sorry if i dint make sense but i am jus a beginner and really energised to try out the latest ROM.
Pls help.
will this be sufficient ??? [2.13.707.1_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2]

Yeah, it's proper one for you.

The number A8181 means, the phone is for europe and asia. So this could also be the right one:
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe
Furthermore, this one is newer. The ruu you guys give him is older than this current version.

Thanks for that updated one MatDrOiD
so one can install the latest Stock RUU for his/her device provided it is one that belongs to a device from the same region.
Jus to make my understanding clearer ..what sort of dependency (in version) does a Stock ROM have on a Device ?

[Q] Return Desire HD back to Australian Three stock ROM

Hello all,
I've absolutely loved my Desire HD running Android Revolution but I've just been offered a free upgrade to a better handset. And I need to get it back to stock as soon as possible for warranty purposes. However I neither backed up the ROM nor took down any particulars. So any help you might have concerning the required settings, ROM and radio would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks!
PV.
What you need to do is find the Three RUU for your handset, this is probably the quickest and easiest way to return the phone to stock. If you get the Super S-off tool then you will be able to go back to s-on. (unless this was done by the RUU)
The other thing to bear ni mind is that if your RUU installer says that the upgrade is not for your phone then you may need to change the CID from the super CID to Three AU CID.
Good luke
Thanks! Does anyone here have a link to the stock ROM? I'm looking at this one right now but it seems older:

Good news for HTC Desire HD users with the roll out of Android 2.3.3 ‘Gingerbread’ by HTC from today with a staggered release across all users over the next couple weeks.
This means, over the next couple of weeks you’ll get a notification on your smartphone to update to the newer software. So don’t worry if you don’t get the update today.
Details of the release
ROM version: 2.37.178.8 (Vodafone) & 2.37.861.8 (Hutchison)
Radio Version: 12.54.60.25U_26.09.04.11_M2

[Q] HTC Desire V / T328W / WIND - Taiwan ROM for Version 1.56.1402.6 request

Hi guys,
I believe a lot of users of this forum have the same problem as I. Google Accounting for HTC T328w by China Unicom.
A cheap but very good phone, that was cheated to be bad
Well, I've searched a lot and tried a lot of ways to make that work, and the only solution I believe is overwrite my full China RUU by a Taiwan RUU.
Thinking about that, I've only finded the following ROMs over the internet:
PL11IMG_PRIMO_DS_ICS_40A_hTC_Asia_TW_1.59.709.3_Radio_1.05.34D.29_20.21.30.23U_release_264969_signed.zip
PL11IMG_RUU_PRIMO_DS_ICS_40A_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.60.707.5_Radio_1.05.34D.29_20.21.30.23U_release_264526_signed.exe
and
HTC T328W Build 1.35.1402.1
As you can imagine, none of them worked.
Even doing everything ok, using a GoldCard, etc...
It always end in CID error and I can't replace the firmware.
With all the facts above, can someone help me (and maybe a bunch of other users) and upgrade your Taiwan version of ICS for HTC T328w to 1.56.1402.6 and generate a clean RUU for download?
I think this is the only way to get this working, since all other alternatives didn't.
I really appretiate the help and thanks in advance.
Follow my T328w settings:
Baseband version
1.06.34D.05_20.22.30.23U
Build Number
1.56.1402.6 CL65713 release-keys
Browser version
WebKit/534.30
Best regards,
Anfergainst
Device: HTC Desire V T328w
