[REQUEST]use power button as camera shutter key - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As the subject states by its own,
I'd like to use the hard power button as the shutter key in the camera app. It would be so useful!

Sir, Development Threads are for that...not request and or questions, Thank You & Thread Moved.

[REQ][MODS][CDMA]Camera Shutter Button / Notification Togggles

Request 1 --
Coming previously from another Samsung phone... I've had the same gripe before... I don't know if it's possible on the GNex but I know it has been done before on several other Samsung phones.
Our phone has an awesome camera but the Samsung developers continue to neglect obvious features like a dedicated camera button. In CM9, you are given the option to assign different buttons to be used as a camera button and this is extremely helpful. Otherwise, you and fumbling around blindly trying to find the on screen button to take a picture.
Request 2 --
Is it possible to add the power toggles to the notification menu? That was one of the most convenient aspects of Android.
-------------
If anyone could help I would definitely appreciate it, thank you for your consideration.
The notification power options can be built using Widgetsoid from the Market. It's free. This feature is also built into many custom ROMs, like AOKP and CM9 Kang.
Is this what you mean by camera button? Flash this, and then volume up becomes a dedicated camera button - http://rootzwiki.com/topic/13899-mod-camera-buttonvstart-and-take-pics-with-volume/

That solution eliminates either the volume up or volume down button. Is there a reason why simultaneous press of both volume up and volume down is not an option to maintain function of the volume up and volume down respectively?

[REQUEST]Use Volume Buttons as Camera Button

I have done a search but cannot find a thread that asks for this.
Is it possible to create a mod that will allow for the volume buttons to be used as a camera button, when in the camera app I mean? Thanks.
already done..flash manhattan rom!
Cheers. Flashed the ROM last night and it is fantastic. I hope more people incorporate it into their own ROMs soon.

[MOD] Volume Rocker for Camera Shutter or Video Start/Stop Button

I thought I should've titled my post as a mod for people to see what the thread is about more accurately.
Mods feel free to delete this post if I am out of line with what could be considered a double post and my apologies in advance if it is.
The original thread to convert the rocker to a camera button can be found here ==> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1482468

Remap the power saver key

Is there any way to change the function of the power saver key? It would be really nice if I could remap it to toggle silent mode or something.
Please respond to this man (or woman, are you a woman ?) ! I found the application "Buttons remapper" to do the trick but I have no idea on the name or ID of the power saving toggle... Is it obligatory to have a rooted phone to do the trick ? (I don't want to lose my warranty
Thanks for the help and support =)
As far as I can see no it can't be remapped

did you achieved this function?
It'd have been nicer if you have searched the thread before creating another topic! Please read and search the forum before posting. Don't flood the forum
