How do I turn the OTA Updater off so it will stop popping up..tried a few things but no success..

No you can not turn off the system notification, but you can delete the pop up by flashing another rom

I got it never mind.....

I guess you can actually disable the ota updater. All you have to do is root your phone then from play store install an app Droid wall and then disable the internet access for the option system update. I did this and so far it is not bugged me. :good:
There is also an app called fota kill. That may help too.

Edit any reference of LI3 in your build prop to read as LJ7. Should stop it.
Honestly have no idea how to do it.

Just search & start reading. This has been thoroughly answered hundreds of times.

worked for me:

says to use root explorer, but ES File Explorer might work.
Everytime I restart the phone after jb update , all disabled apps enable themselves...anyone else seeing this? I really hope this isnt a feature, oh and the boot up animation seems to be a lil off with sound..

I have seen this once so far with the Zynga junk app that seems to have come in as bloatware. I will have to reboot again and see if it comes back again.
Yea it seems the t-mobile app and zynga keep coming back...
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
It appears even without rebooting they eventually enable themselves anyway at least on mine.

Same problem here, just odin'ed mr.Robinson's no trip root, and used titanium to just uninstall the apps.. also had a problem with the Samsung keyboard forcing itself back to default on reboot as well, but a factory reset seemed to fix it.. sneaky stuff like that is sorta angering..

Did you remove any of the stock apps before updating?
No the only thing I did was remove the camera shutter sound and adfree
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
you have to go back & edit the file you did and reinstate the shutter sound...happened to me too
just change it back to a "1" & it'll go thru
Dam I deleted the file when I did it. Could you possibly upload it for me?
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
oh, you actually deleted something? I say just use LGNPST to V9, then go to JB...safest
You don't lose your data (most times) w/ LGNPST, but it can happen, so make a backup of anything you want to keep
Ok I tried all day and couldn't get it to work. It wouldn't allow me to select a dll everything's grayed out, so I downloaded a system dump file and replaced the camera file rebooted still no luck says there's no update and says I'm still on zv8
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
you have to be in download mode to select a dll file and etc
Ahh alright thanks directions didn't say go into download mode till after I select the dll

If you run into anymore issues with LGNPST you can PM me or jump on IRC and ask around there.

They still haven't completely rolled out the update so you will have to manually update

I'm on stock 4.1.2 rooted and is like to get rid of the notifications.
I've already renamed the fwupdate.apk and the odex file, and deleted the update file from cache.
I've also renamed the otacerts.zip fixed permissions in twrp and rebooted.
I can't find any other methods. Any help would be fantastic. Thanks!

In notification pull down, long press on the update notification. There should be an option to disable the notification there

It allows me to go to the app info for Google Services Framework. Isn't that an important app?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
So I made sure the update wasn't in my cache, and then selected to install the update. My phone didn't even reboot, it immediately went to a screen that said I was up to date.
FWIW
