Sorry I don't have the proper permissions to post this in the correct section or thread.
I recently installed the Sprint Jelly Bean leak and for the most part it has been great. Sometimes it gets a little warm when I am using the 3g antenna but otherwise it's butter. That being said occasionally the screen will not turn on. The menu and back button will still light up, if I receive a message or a call you can still hear the incoming notification sounds but in order for me to get it right I have to remove the battery and restart. Anybody else notice this? Anybody have a fix?
Thanks

Are you using the LIF leak? That was an issue for almost everyone using that build (referred to as SOD or Screen of Death in the thread). When it happens, no need to pull battery. Just hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and the phone will reboot.
It's fixed in the latest leak (LIH).

It's called LOS. There are hundreds of posts about this. Some phones have it some don't. Depends on the phone, the rom, and a number of other things that Devs are trying to figure out. I'm running strongsteve's odexed rom and haven't had any Los. Previously I was getting it quite frequently.

I'm on calkulin's ROM and when i'm on the phone and I need to change the volume, I can't do it unless I pull the phone away from my face and the screen comes on. Only then does the volume change.
Is there a fix for this? It's extremely annoying.

I too have this "issue" Maybe we should post it on Calks thread?
Experiencing the same issue on UnNamed 2.0.1
Yeah I don't think this is a ROM related issue, as I recall this even when I was totally stock. If you notice the screen does go to sleep when you are on a call, then when you pull it away from your ear the screen is awaken. I think it has something to do with that.
I've been having this issue on all the EL ROMs but I don't remember it doing this in EK02.
I'm pretty sure it still did this on my stock EK02.
Nope it doesn't do that on stock EK02. That's what I'm running rooted and I can change my call volume while in a call and the screen is sleep..

Same issue on Blazer 3.9. Can't seem to work the "long press to skip track" feature either, coincidentally..
I get the same thing with the Blazer ROM 3.7. I think it is an EL29 error. :/

It is not. Its already been established in another thread that this is only in custom roms. Something about a music mod is the cause of it. I can change my volume in call with any stock build.

I am not "allowed" to post this information on Calkulin's E4GT 2 page, because I have not been here long enough. I am however a daily driver of Calkulin's E4GT 2 rom and have made some helpful observations. I will try to post one per day on this page. Hopefully after about 10days of posting, the powers that be will give me access to Calkulin's page where this actually should be posted.
Jtags helpful tune-up tips for Calkulin's E4GT 2 ICS ROM Day 1
Is the Crackle free movie app not working for you? Install Calkulin's Stock Android Hosts from zip in CWM and it should fix it.
Getting that annoying silent notification bug? Restart your phone everyday... it won't stop it but it will decrease the number of dropped notifications. Don't believe me... well try it yourself. Text yourself from someone else's phone when you are getting the silent notification bug. Then restart you phone and see if it fixes the bug. It works for me. Tell me if if works for you. If it works for everyone, I may write a script to restart the appropriate services after use which may fix the problem all together.
Well that is all for today. I hope this helps.

I thought the notification bug was based off of hitting home or back after a phone call before the phone app quits itself, and not a random occurrence?

Although there is a relationship between the dialer and notifications stopping it does also occur randomly.
Notification Bug
The notification bug in my experience is triggered by hitting the back button before a call has fully ended, silencing an incoming call, silencing any notification, or exiting the SMS messenger by using the taskmon.
Restarting the phone is one way of fixing the problem. There are a group of services that you can restart, but it is easier to restart the phone. I am working on a script to restart the services after use, but I am running into another bug. When I have the script running the notifications enter an infinite. The only way I have been able to stop it is to remove the battery and uninstall. I am still working on it, but obviously not ready for prime-time.
Unfortunately, samsung may have beat me to the punch. I have a source that tells me that FD10 no longer has the bug. Hopefully it will leak... I mean be released officially soon.
Notification Bug
Recently my wife's E4GT has been getting the notification bug... it even goes one step further and affects the alarm clock. Her phone is stock el29, never been rooted. Weird.
I just do the following. Make a phone call, hang up RIGHT AWAY (1 second after calling), wait for the screen to go away (the screen that says "message" and "call" at the bottom). Once that screen goes away, the notification bug is gone and you can press whetever keys you like.

NOOB HERE
Hi, I am using eugene373's newest PLANE JANE ICS ROM, the whole system seems to me is perfect, except the one issue about the touch keys backlight. Sometimes those four keys do not light up even I already unlock the screen, may have to wait for 15-30 seconds, then the backlight comes up. But sometime it works good. So I am just wondering is there any other this ROM users have same problem about this?
Its a little bug, everyone's got it. It'll probably be fixed soon.

Thanks for telling me that. I already had flashed the rom more than five times!! I thought that only because I installed something affect the lights.
PlainJane
Installed Rom.Everything seemed to work fine. But i could not get Talkatone working that what i use mostly.
Anyone else having this issue?
I went to update my PRL and profile this morning after restoring a nandroid after messing up some settings in the phone yesterday, and when I went to update my profile, it updated then gave an emergency call screen?
I know some folks in the FK09 thread have had this issue, but I haven't flashed anything FK09 or FJ10 related on my phone. Anyone know how to fix this?
Didn't you hear, that is the new DHS anti hack software that alerts them of a hack attempt. Its part of the new cyber security bill currently being run thru congress.
And oh Im just messing with ya.

My phone started to experience this problem yesterday. I am 100% stock. Two days ago I restarted my phone and for a brief second saw a message saying updating Android. I looked at the Sprint forums and do not see any discussion about this. I am running FI27.
Same Here

I am currently running EL26 Android 2.3.6 after running FK09 for a bit. I see the same thing. I feel like there is a part of the device that we cannot access. There is no reason that this message should be showing up on android 2.3.6 EL26.
really weird !
It's not a problem its just Sprint making changes on how there network works. Guess you guys missed the Network Vision upgrade they're doing. Things are bound to change. You can OC back to EK30 and It'll still happen. My Evo3D does the same now too.

Ya i saw this a couple days ago! The second Profile update ends it pops up and shuts phone down. Check out the blu kuban thread in general I have a screen shot. It pisses me off! I quickly found a work around from rebooting. I put the samsung task manager on home page. So when this pops up, hit home. Then clear memory, and phone wont reboot. Works like a champ.
Same thing happened on my phone. A emergency countdown appeared on screen. When I clicked the back button, it started to dial 911. Any idea how I can update my profile without dialing 911?

The countdown is until reboot. If you need to make an emergency call, hit the button... Otherwise just reboot and it will be fine.

Thanks for the tip, I didn't want to try it again if it was going to call.
