Custom ROM download Voicemail / Text Msg Notification?

I'm running EVOlutionV8 and have the Voice Message app installed, but when I receive a voicemail, rather than downloading the message, I receive a text message stating "So and so (insert their number here) has left you a voice message. Call xyz-123-abcd to listen." I then call that number for voicemail.
Any idea how to resolve this so that I no longer receive text messages for voicemails, and they're downloaded automatically?

[Q] Sprint+Google Voice Texting Question

Hey guys. Just did the whole Google Voice deal where my Sprint number becomes my Google number. All I want to use GV for is voicemail, that's it. I can either get 2 texts (GV and my regular text messaging) or texts on my regular messaging app but it would disable all notifications including voicemail (which I want only voicemail to appear).
How do I get rid of the texting feature? I only want to be notified by GV for voicemail and notified by my texting app for my texts.
BTW, I'm running the GV app as well.
unfortunately GV wont let you change the type of phone ( mobile, home, work, etc.). you have to delete your real number then add a new number and set it as a non mobile number. ( use the tab at the bottom right of the GV screen that says upgrade ) you can then choose a new GV number and stop the texts from GV

Can't send google voice search texts using google voice on Jellybean 4.1.1

One of the first things I tried to do with Jellybean was to send a text message by saying "send text to contact_name message message_text." Doing this prompts me to select either sms or google voice. Since I blocked SMS on my number and rely on google voice, I tried that. The little block that showed the contact and the message goes away and leaves a big empty space afterward, and below that regular google web search results are shown below it. If I chose to send it via normal SMS it goes through, then I get a notification that SMS messages are blocked for this number.
Can anyone successfully send google voice sms messages using voice commands??

It's obvious that Google Voice is not updated to work with Jelly Bean yet. I'm sure they will update it soon! I too am waiting for this!!
I can confirm the same behavior. Annoying.

Google Voice + Messaging app integration issue

When ever I get a text to my Google voice number (I use native Google messaging app) from someone I know, I can see their name but number has changed. Its kinda annoying because it starts a new chat thread. I end up adding that "weird" number to my contacts to make it work properly. Has anyone been able to figure this out or adding server number to contacts is the only way to make it work?
There is no way around this issue, turn off text from Google voice and just text from the voice app.
When using the standard Messaging app and not the Google Voice app, messages are sent by proxy via a "Google Voice Access Number". The GVA number is that weird number you're seeing. You can call that number to connect to your friend's number, and they will see your GV number on the caller ID. As far as I know that access number is semi-permanent... so you can add it to your address book. It may change after several months at which point the call just won't go through.
To avoid this, disable "Receive text messages on this phone" under the Google Voice settings page from your browser and use the Google Voice app.
I just use the GV SMS Integration app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mdrtools.apps.gvintegration&hl=en
Works flawlessly. No crazy numbers or anything. I just see their names as if I wasn't using Google Voice.
Quick trick

One thing i do to avoid this problem is save the google voice port number to my contacts i usually text the google voice created number or initiate the text via google voice app to avoid this problem.... hope this helped!
Thanks for all the info guys I really appreciate it.

[Q] Question about hyperlinked numbers in messaging app

My provider (Wind Mobile) sends me notification texts when I receive a voicemail. In these texts is a shortcut 5-digit number, which I can dial to listen to the specific voicemail directly, instead of having to dial the main voicemail and using the menu to listen to all new messages. The text message will say something like "dial 00025 to listen to it directly".
When I got my phone, these messages would have the 5-digit number hyperlinked, so I would just press it and it would take me to my dialer, and I could call it. After my phone received the 4.3 update, these types of numbers no longer were hyperlinked to the dialer, and this behaviour didn't improve after the 4.4.2 update either.
Does anyone know how I can restore this functionality in the stock messaging app?
