[Q] phone wont start even with battery full - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello, please help if you can.
i have a xperia arc s and i did not rooted it or installed any custom rom, i just have the stock rom that came on the phone.
my problem is that a couple days ago i was charging the phone with it turned off, and now everytime i try to turn on the phone, it just wont turn on.
i mean, i connect the phone to the wall charger and it says that the battery is full, but when i press the button to turn it on it just wont.
my solution has been to remove the battery and then reinserting it again, and that way i can turn on the phone, but that way is just to annoying, and i wonder if anyone has had that same kind of problem, and if has been able to find a solution and solve it, or if perhaps there is nothing to do except take it to the tecnichal assistence.
please if you can help me, this situation has been driving me completly crazy.
thank you in advance.

when you do turn on the phone and it works normally, does the phone shut down automatically or do you turn it off yourself?

hello, so far as i can see, the phone doesnt turn off by it self. i am the on o turn it off

Use the sony ericsson update service to repair the phone.
Hit "Thanks" if I helped you.:good:

i am affraid you wont understand my previous reply because my english is really bad so i write again,
the phone dont shut down automatically, when it turns off, its me who turn it off.
but now i notice one thing.
now after i remove and reinsert the battery again like i said, i can still turn on the phone, but now it is taking much more time than the other times i did that.
maybe all i can do is taking it to the technical assistence, but i want to be sure that there is nothing i can do, because i have friends who took it to the assistence and came back with the phone even worse than when they took it.
so please if you know something that can help me i really thank you.

Dear XperienceD,
I have searched xda developer and read several threads, but none of them had proper resolution.
If you know any thread where proper solution is provided, Kindly let me know.
Thanks.
Since you repaired it with pc companion, and still get bootloop after enabling the bluetooth, i think this is caused by a hardware fault

Download PC Companion, repair your firmware.
If problem still exists, go back to the shop.
Guys sorry for kicking an old thread but a friend asked me to help out with ARC having the same problem on stock ICS 4.0.4 is there any solution for this? If I were to go to a custom ROM will it fix the problem?
Thanks in advance

Try this, helped so many times with Arc S:
- turn off your phone
- remove the battery cover
- remove the battery
- put a small piece of paper between the bottom edge of the battery hoousing and the battery (the side opposite of the battery connectors, so the piece of papper pushes the battery towards the battery connectors)
- put the battery back
-turn on your phone

Its not the battery or power issue.
It has something to do with software.

I had similar issue on my Arc S, and this helped. It seems that there is a loss of powerdue to bad contacts, and the voltage level drops so the phone goes into restart loop. Try it, can't do any harm
I had a problem earlier (some 10 months ago) when i turned on blue tooth it went on rebooting, I tried to get into settings and switch off the blue tooth which was not possible due to fast rebooting. Then I read read in a forum to leave the mobile to reboot for nearly 8 hrs or so, so I left it like that (to reboot continuously) for more than 6 hrs, then it became normal with blue tooth going off (I think so) and I went to settings and then to backup & reset (I think I lost some data during this). From then on I never tried to use blue tooth.
Again today (19 Nov. 2015) I wrongly pressed blue tooth instead of wifi, then again the problem of rebooting started, I was upset thinking of shunning this mobile once for all. Then suddenly I searched in web and got this link :xperia-arcs-auto-reboot.blogspot.in/2012/08/sony-ericsson-xperia-arc-s-auto-reboot.html , where it is asked to keep the battery tight in it's place to keep good contact with its terminals in mobile. Before doing this, I took a conductive metal (a small knife) and I shorted all the three pins in the mobile where the battery touches to give power. *WARNING: NEVER TRY TO DO THIS IN THE BATTERY*. Then placed a piece of paper in the back of the battery and inserted in the slot. Then I switched ON and it started and the boot was holding for some time (say 30 seconds), with in which I went to settings and switched of blue tooth and switched off the mobile. Then removed the battery and inserted again with the same piece of paper and restarted, now it's working.
In my experience, this mobile is having problem both in the battery placement for tightness and in the blue tooth software also. Otherwise this is a good mobile. Thanks for the forums which helped me salvage my mobile with many important contacts. I share this here out of gratitude for these forum. Otherwise I would have to spent a lot for software reloading if I went to authorised or some dubious service centres.

Xperia Arc S sleep to death?

I got my Arc S last weekend, but I had many times of sleep to death on custom roms... (didn't happen on stock 2.3.4)
Sometimes after screen is off, I can't wake phone up again. Only a battery pull can help
Arc S had unlocked bootloader, I tried smart Xperia, aokp, viper, racing bean, but all having sleep to death problem on it.
I'm now using racing bean Rom and fusion kernel(184m-1.4ghz), it does have less sleep to death problem, but still no luck.
Any help for this phone?
Strange..... Even I use the same settings.... Y don't you try setting min frequency to 224.... N bdw what governor are you using?

My phone got stuck fairly often when it was new, after a month or whatnot. It started working alot faster and stopped freezing.
Since you got it only last weekend, it's probably why.
I just relock bootloader, and back to stock 4.1.a.0.562 via flashtool, but phone is getting crazy.
Every time screen off, phone can't be turned on.
I may try Sony pc companion later...
Try a factory reset or seus, mine was like this when I bought it too

Tried SEUS to latest official ICS , but still can't solve.
Maybe a hardware issue somewhere?
(I tried different sd cards)
Have you tried different stock firmware? If yes I think its better to send it to SE.

my Xperia S is screwed!!!

yesterday my battery showed 37% & it suddenly shut down
d phone was completely drained, even d charging symbol wasn't showing
after a few mins i tired turning it on again
it turned on & it switched off
tired it many times & twice it showed "battery temperature too high shutting down"
m sure d phone wasn't hot
the phone turns off whenever i use any app for a long tym ex:FM radio, multitasking
the phone stays on during deep sleep/stand by mode
can any of you guys help me diagnose the problem???
P.S
i have relocked my bootloader & tried repairing with sony pcc
no use!!!
help
Guys
need ur help
any kind of help will b appreciated!!!
Well, try to do manual flashing to Gingerbread with full data wipe. If the problem persists even then - then it's 100% a hardware issue, maybe temperature sensor is borked.

[Q] Experiancing "Sleep of Death" and "Sudden Death" with Xperia ZL. PLease help.

[Q] Experiancing "Sleep of Death" and "Sudden Death" with Xperia ZL. PLease help.
Howdy everyone. I bought an Xperia ZL about 6 months ago and it worked perfectly. The first thing I did was installed Cyanogen Mod 10.1 when I got it and everything worked perfectly until about a month ago.
A month ago my ZL went into the "Sleep of Death" it wouldn't charge, wouldn't start, wouldn't do anything. Eventually, after exhausting every option I popped the back off the ZL and unplugged the battery from the mother board ( Very easy ) using a spudger. I left it off for about 90 seconds, popped the cover back and on and it restarted perefectly.
I then installed PAC rom and it worked nicely for a week then... book. Shut down for no specific reason. It would load up, start working get to lock screen and as soon as I unlocked it... Shut down. It seems to happen at random times. Thinking that PAC rom might have had a problem I put the newest CM 10.1 on and it's beautful. I even re-installed all my apps from the app store instead of using Titaninum backup for fear there was some kind of malware or something. Again, worked for 2 days and... Shutdown when opening facebook app. Now it's stuck in a boot loop.
I noticed on google that many people with the Z and ZL have had this probelm, but all I could find as far as a fix is that sony said it " knows the problem and wll fix it soon" I don't mind going back to a stock Xpera Rom but I would much rather fix the problem and stay with CM or PAC since that's what I;ve been using for years.
Thanks alot for your time!
Sounds like a pretty big annoyance. I can't say I've experienced something this bad. With any custom rom so far. A few hard locks here and there but that's what the reset button under the sim/sd card flap is for. Keep it pressed for 5 secs to reboot the phone or for 10 secs to hard reboot it. The hard reboot will fix anything. No need to take your device apart.

Thanks
Thanks for your help, but I've tried that and tried it again. Nothing helps.
Just keeps shutting itself off. I'm gonna flash the newest stock rom for the ZL and see if that helps apparently Sony had some kinf od software fix for it.
Thanks again !

Do you have a unlocked bootloader? If you do then try flashing a custom kernel with offline charging. It maybe because of faulty battery too.

Thanx for reply Sumdha. I do not think it is a battery issue, it is relevant to software for sure. During past hours I noticed that the Wifi has a problem as well. When I reboot the device when WiFi is on, it does not respond on startup and the charging problem persists, If I turned it off before rebooting everything works fine, I know it seems weird but that what is going on
BL is locked, I have no intention to flash custom kernel, I did that before with my Arc S, it was such a big headache.

This is weird. Anyway, unlocking bootloader is not such a PIA as you think it is, Its very easy and in my opinion a phone with a locked bootloader is just like an icecream stored in refrigerator. You will never be able to enjoy all that your phone can provide unless you unlock your bootloader. Rest is upto you.

Hello again..You might be interested to know that I solved it very simply, the problem seems to pop up when I power on device while it is on charge, I simply disconnect it, power on, and it works fine:good:..I know that unlocking boatloader is quite easy, I have already done that many times.
Anyway, I like what you posed about icecream in refregirator, but I am more into jelly bean
