I'm having issues connecting to 3g. Yesterday I was running paranoid android and my bars stayed grey all day and I couldn't connect to 3g at all. I reflashed a couple different modems but it didn't do anything. I can use the phone for texts and calls but not for the internet. I flashed codename android 3.6.6 and I'm still having the same issue. I don't know if its a sprint issue because my friend has an epic 4g and he can connect to 3g. I really need help.

I just upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S3 but my epic would be a wonderful wifi internet device for my niece. The problem is that I need the ROM to have no drivers for the cellular radio so 911 operators can have a rest haha is there a rom or way to do this? It would save battery power and stop searching for a signal that has been shut off. This phone is still a great camera, music device, ect. Please help me.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
you could just delete the phone app using rom toolbox titanium backup ect... and go the extra mile and delete the messaging app.
Would the phone then stop searching for signal and using most of the battery searching for a signal? Or is that hardware/modem firmware based?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Couldn't you just toggle mobile data off?
Yes but then I'd lose the internet via wifi functionality and video or music streaming functionality, as well as blue tooth for audio and remote control. We can turn the epic into a non cellular computer like it is on a non cellular tablet.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Even with mobile data off the phone uses a lot of power searching for signal.

Nope not unless there is actually a rom to download here it doesn't belong in development... only actual development belongs in development...

Legal?! I bought this piece of equipment, I'm free to do with it as I please. Especially when it involves only my home network.

I have a GSM Galaxy Nexus about 2 months old. Yesterday I flashed this ROM. I'm on the latest radio XXLF1 (I'm in New York, USA). My carrier is Straight Talk on AT&T's network.
Everything was going great. This is all on 3G/4G (or H symbol on top): I was using it up until 12am and fell asleep. I woke up at 4am and stayed up on it for about 30 minutes and fell asleep again. Then at 10am, I saw that the signal dropped terribly. I usually get 2-4 bars throughout my apartment, and 1-4mbps download speed. But now it is 0-2 bars and 0 to 0.2mbps ......
If I switch to 2G only then I get 2-4 bars again but that's with EDGE speeds...
I've tried flashing a few other ROMs and also the UGKL1 radio but that didn't make any difference.
EDIT: Outside, the connection is normal, I got my usual connection and speeds, but I am finding some areas with 2 bars instead of the usual 4 I generally have almost everywhere....

My co worker and I have note 2 mine works and her phone is never connecting to network. She can't use Internet and it's very slow. Her phone is with mobilicity and mine is also with mobilicity. What you guys think is the problem? Radio? Her baseband is T889VVLBMA3 and mine is different baseband.

The fault is most likely on Mobilicity. It's network is just not ready for service.

Her phone still have Samsung warranty. She can contact Samsung and let them to fix the problem, or if she is rooted just flash another modem and see if that resolve the problem.

Ok, this may have been covered before but I don't think so.
I'm on Sprint 4.2.1 official. No custom ROM. I am however running AK. I can't send MMS or receive MMS. I have updated my profile, rebooted, etc etc. I do have data enabled and do not have WiFi enabled. Any flash able zips? There are no APN settings being a Sprint phone, well none that I can adjust.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

have you tried a different mms app like gosms? or even replacing the stock mms with a different 4.2.1 mms apk?
No. I love the stock MMS so much. Lol. I have flashed different ROMs and stock firmwares to no avail.

the only thing i can think of is to clear the messaging application itself.
you would lose all your texts however.
I delete my messages daily anyway. Haha. I just wish I could take the internals of Go SMS and skin it with 100% stock Android. Lol

For those having issues, have you guys fully ported your Sprint number to Google Voice? Thinking this may be causing some issues. I managed to get MMS received by unchecking the "auto receive" option. Still can't send though. This is frustrating.
I'm having a lot of issues with my 3g. Don't think it's Rom or kernel related though. My 3g just drops and takes forever to connect and I even did the soft reset with 611 today on tw and nothing.

Join the crowd, I think it's Sprint, here in Louisiana, they say they've finished 3g upgrades, I can't tell a difference at all. Some spots seem to be better than others. Seems at night I get better speeds. Mine does the same as what your describing, AOSP or TW has nothing to do with it for me. Luckily I can connect to Verizon's 4g most of the time.

Have you tried Reprovisioning your data ? You can call Sprint, or you can do it yourself. Dial ##72786# in the dialpad. The Device will reboot once, or twice while it is setting up. Just let it do it's thing.

Try a different Rom. Just to rule out the possibility. If that doesn't correct it, I would ODIN back to Stock. See if that resolves the issue.
