your antivirus is working on a secondary process...zergrush was eaten by it and therefore it will fail everytime u run the Hack Kit....uninstall the AV or use a liveCD...it is worthless that you keep trying in that way.

I had the same problem im running win7 home premium 64 bit i deleted norton and i had not htc sync installed and no apple program i reinstalled my computer a week ago so i dosent hav many program but i think it dosent want to work whit my computer im gonna try it on another computer
please i need help i had the same software and hboot and everything

It is not working because the hack kit download is flaw. The anti virus it firewall has eaten the zergrush.
Delete that hack kit, uninstall the anti virus and then re download it again. If you are still stuck just let me know.

hello i was just reading, and i also have the same problem. i already tried to re-download the hack kit.. but i keeps failing on me.
i have an htc inspire android 2.3.5
sofware V. 3.20.502.52
and i keep getting killed by the hellions.

That is att latest update, go to the hack kit site and check the requisites needed first.

Its very easy just place the original ruu v 2.3.3 to the root of yor sd card and rename to PD98IMG.ZIP and to HBOOT menu just wait and follow the instruction on screen, thats it.

What? That is wrong...you can not downgrade with a higher main version...you need at least a goldcard and in this case will also fail.

S-Off, Still could not root tried everything

Hello everyone,I am new to flashing and stuff.
I am trying to install a custom rom. So I unlocked my bootloaded by htcdev.
it's Hboot 1.09.0099 now.
I'm following this Tutorial.

so then I tried UnLockroot,It failed rooting. I read on their dev website, it may be due to firmware differences.

I recently unlock the bootloader.... have you missed the subsequential steps after flashing rru? (Getting identifier token and send back to htc... etc)

The gingerbreak vulnerability is fixed in the new firmware versions.
Try this:
1. Flash the CWM recovery.
2. Download http://downloads.noshufou.netdna-cdn.com/superuser/Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip and put it to your SD card.
3. Enter recovery in the hboot menu.
4. Enter "install zip from sd card" and click Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip.

No I sent back the token and did rest of the steps in htcdev.com and unlocked bootloader sucessfully.

I need to see the outcome of the session in order to be certain about it, but 99% of the main version fails is due to bad downloads (antivirus eats zergrush wich is used to gain temproot)
Check that in the folder tools>bin there's a file named zergrush. If that is not there, then your download is flaw. Make sure you stop everything first and then re download the Kit. Make sure also that you are running the last version from attn1's site. :good:

I noticed that the device won't automatically boot so when I tried to manually boot through ADB reboot bootloader it boots up normally but I get the error: Update Fail! Main version is older I have no idea what I am doing wrong any tips ? I've tried using google but I haven't really found anything concrete to use the zergrush files weren't eaten as was suggested in other threads so I don't know what to do anymore. If any more information is needed I will update as requested thank you for your time.

I keep getting an error at the second to last command when the rom actually gets flashed. Google has turned up several threads but those remedies don't seem to apply here. I'll give you my phone details as it stands right now.

At this point the phone reboots back to the "bootloader screen??" with the three droids at the bottom. It says FASTBOOT USB. One thread I read on this forum said the 99 error was because you were not in fastboot so I threw in this command and my device shows up???

Your link is broken. You should be using prototype's tacoroot method I believe. It's a sticky in the development section. Is that what you are using?

Just to clarify it is unlocked using the method from HTC. I can relock too if that is better.

so i have recently tried to root my htc desire hd using the aahk and using a video from youtube, which was the xda made, how to root your htc desire hd using aahk.
so i had problems at first, i had a 1gb sd card and i had formatted it and it kept giving me error messages saying that there was no space left on the device so i then hunted for my 8gb sd card. once i got my 8gb it worked fine and it downgraded with no problem. i got through mostly all the steps included in the video and guide on the forums.
i basically got to the end where it asks me to reboot and it froze....for about an hour and a half untill i turned it off. im a lil bit of a newbie so hahaha
this morning i tried to turn it on again and it got stuck on the green htc logo boot screen. i took the sd card out and it successfully turned back on but only by pressing volume up down and power. i got into the hboot menu but now i dont know what to do.... do i find the stock ruu and run that or?

so i have recently tried to root my htc desire hd using the aahk and using a video from youtube, which was the xda made, how to root your htc desire hd using aahk.
so i had problems at first, i had a 1gb sd card and i had formatted it and it kept giving me error messages saying that there was no space left on the device so i then hunted for my 8gb sd card. once i got my 8gb it worked fine and it downgraded with no problem. i got through mostly all the steps included in the video and guide on the forums.
i basically got to the end where it asks me to reboot and it froze....for about an hour and a half untill i turned it off. im a lil bit of a newbie so hahaha
this morning i tried to turn it on again and it got stuck on the green htc logo boot screen. i took the sd card out and it successfully turned back on but only by pressing volume up down and power. i got into the hboot menu but now i dont know what to do.... do i find the stock ruu and run that or?

Have you tried reading the effen manual? Because the answer is in there. You did everything but follow the right instructions.
Try running the hack kit again from the white screen, that is what the manual says.

yes i have read the "effin maunal", thank you. and the phone wont even pick up signal in the usb.....i start the aahk and i get an error...saying the device has not been plugged in and debug isnt on

Reinstall the drivers. If you downloaded the hack kit with the antivirus on, switch off, download again. Read the manual again. It's a tricky book.

Then, in the phone you should be prompted to update, aren't you? If you are not getting the option to update in the phone, then try using a different sdcard, as yours seems to be corrupted.
If the Hack Kit is now trying to downgrade, then you were not downgraded the last time...you are still where you started.

ok thanks so much man. and yes im not getting an ask for an update. i think it is the sd card to. will a 1 gb be big enough?? anyway to stop cards from corrupting?

1 GB is just fine. Make sure that eject properly everytime to avoid corruption.

hello again!! so i had a few sd cards sitting around, i know it says to use new but i tried these. the cards all still didnt work and it still didnt prompt me for an update or get me passed the point i have posted in the comment above. i will try and buy a new sd card and see how that works. im running 2.3.5 and 3.12 for software.
