hello everyone bit of a newbie and need some assistance i've been flashing for a couple months now and want to give ParanoidAndroid a shot but every time i flash and reboot the boot animation comes up and then goes to a white screen and stays there. I do follow all the directions and have tried previous releases but always the same, I do use darkside superwipe and cache to clean before flashing and other roms I have no problem with.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated

The white screen is normal, try to wipe dalvick cache, fix permissions, if you are in cwm 6.X.X.X. If you are in cwm 5.X.X.X. try the dark side wipe.

I get the white screen too, but my phone still boots up. Make sure your fully wiping before you install. You'll always get the white screen until they realize to fix it but for now dw about it. Make sure you are waiting.. the first boot takes s while and we tend to get so excited that it feels so long. Time it and if it doesn't boot up after 5 minutes then you probably have a bad download or something

Thanks for the help I actually got it to finally boot up after doing a seperate dalvick wipe and fix permissions it booted and was looking badass then I went back to install my apps from my zip backup and it wouldn't go past the white screen again n I waited 20 minutes so I tried another fresh install and nothing I'm gonna keep trying though.

For backing up apps I use rom toolbox and only restore apps not the data. If you get white screen, wipe cache dalvik and fix permissions again.

If your are running 6.1.4 then no scripts are needed. Just do what you did every time you have issues

Okay, so i finally got my incredible rooted, and i installed cyanogen mod...but it wont finish booting, it keeps getting stuck at the Nexus boot animation and wont go beyond that
Did you use a hydra kernel?
Trust me, your not bricked. This happens to me several times a day.

Whoa...easy...let it boot. Sometimes the first boot when loading a fresh rom can take a long time.
I think he is describing a boot loop....and cm6 does take long to boot

Not that long.
Question, did you install the new hydra kernels?
Also, is it just hanging at the nexus logo or is it starting, stopping, and restarting;

Did you do a full wipe?
Go back into recovery...wipe cache and data and then load the cyanogen zip again.

It just keeps doing the nexus loop..and no i didnt clear anything...but i will try

Hi all,
I decided to remove Cyanogen today from my Inc2(obv). I loaded up the recovery I flashed with Clockwork last week. When my phone rebooted it got stuck at the HTC splash screen. Now all it does is loop the splash screen over and over again. Does anyone have an idea as to what i could do?
Did you wipe data and caches before flashing?
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium
yes I did. This wasnt the first phone that I have rooted, so I am confused as to why it is doing this. On my old Droid by doing what I did above, I was able to remove cyanogen easily.
Did you make a nandroid backup first,if you did that just go to recovery and then go to backup and restore and select restore and just choose your backup, and then restart.

Do the following in recovery:
Factory reset
Wipe data
Wipe dalvik
Format all partitions except sdcard.
Enjoy aosp
I'm sure you are coming from a sense rom and there is residue left on your system partition. Formatting all partitions will help here.

So this is my first time posting so im a pretty big noob at this, but here it goes. I have a T-mobile Galaxy s2 that i rooted a few months ago. Today CM9 released the stable version, which is what Ive been waiting for so i decided to try it out. (again, Ive never flashed a rom before I only used the stock one) I followed all the steps to do it and now its been at the boot screen for over an hour. The instructions said be patient, but I feel that over an hour is too long. I decided to pull the battery, hoping I could go into recovery mode and do a factory reset. When I try to go into recovery mode it vibrates a couple times but doesn't go into recovery mode. I can't go into download mode either. Does anyone have any idea for what I can do to at least do a factory reset? Thank you in advance for the help.
Edit* After going into recovery, I tried a factory reset but its still trying to boot into CM9. Why is it doing that?
When factory reset it doesn't go back to stock rom .
How are you flashing the rom?

Actually, for some reason recovery was being really strange. I had to hold down the power and the volume buttons 3 times for it to go to recovery, then I restored an older backup that was on my memory card and it took a while then finally worked
Do you by chance know why it didn't work?
I've been getting this same problem. I can get back to recovery and recover from my backup just fine, but every time I try to get CM9 working, it won't go past the boot screen, even after about an hour of waiting.
I've tried the CM9 hercules stable release off the CyanogenMod website and the CM9 RC2 download through ROM Manager, I've tried installing through ROM Manager and straight from booting into recovery, and I've tried putting the zip on both external and internal storage just in case that might conceivably affect something. I have the same problem every time. I'm using CWM 5.0.2.7 and currently on rooted stock.
Any ideas on how I might get this rom working?
You need Darkside super and cache wipes, which are both available in a sticky with an obvious title in the development section of the forum.

I flashed cm10 to the SGH-T989 and it wont go pass the cyanogenMod screen spinning blue ring
i followed the step
wipe fatory
wipe cache
the flash radio
then rom
then gapps
the wipe cache
and then dalvik cache
so what am i doing wrong need some help please
I'm no expert but I don't think the first thing you flash should be the radio. Wipe everything again, then flash the ROM then gapps, then reboot and see what happens. I really don't think there's a reason to flash a radio unless you have bad reception personally.

Bootloop after Jedi Mind Trick 3 Install
Performed a full system wipe - Factory Reset/Data Wipe, format /system, Wipe Dalvik Cache - using CWM. Flashed ROM, Fixed Permissions, then rebooted. Waited 10 minutes (actually more like 20 minutes) but was stuck in a bootloop. The loading bar almost completely fills in each time (only a small fraction - i.e. about 0.5mm - remains unfilled) before the reboot occurs automatically. I read else where on the SGH-T989 forum of similar problems with 2.0. Someone said that wiping the data caches before AND after flashing the ROM always works for them. I assume they mean format /data cache and Wipe Dalvik Cache after flashing ROM but I'm not sure. Anyone have any experience here?

Thanks. I found the darkside wipe files and downloaded them. Then I read elsewhere that if you have the up-to-date CWM version (6 or later), it will do the same thing accomplished by the darkside wipes. Do you know if this is a fact? Thanks again.

It may work as long as you choose to not wipe the preload. I wouldn't chance it tho...just use jamisons wipes.
