I've seen other threads, but I didn't like the answers. If I am going to load CM6.1 RC1 tonight, when should I wipe battery stats?
Great question. Was going to post this today as well. Since I got the extended battery yesterday from sprint.. so anyways I drained treatment battery instead of charging fully.. then I charged fully and did treatment HTC battery tweak.. then I wipe battery stats and turned on.. now will it fully charge my extended battery since I deleted stats and its been fully charge (I hope so.. 11 hours at 45%) and I drain it till its dead..?

I wiped at full charge. Let it drain all the way until phone shuts down. Recharge fully (do not unplug).
I'm at 35% on 18h and 36m.

You'll know when you need to wipe battery stats because you'll see some wild sht. For example: if your battery is at 55% and you need to flash something. You go into recovery, flash it, reboot and your battery is now at 87%, you need to wipe. Its best to wipe when you flash a new rom or kernel; just to keep everything fresh.

Follow this tip here, you may not need to do it every time.....but i recommend doing it maybe once every three times you flash a rom out. And if you restore, i would just wipe batt. stats at the same time of wipe data/factory reset.
Should have clean battery label. But like another post said, to extended battery life....you may want to follow his tip too.
The only issue I have is, when you reset battery stats you have to boot into recovery, right? When booting into recovery it uses some battery, so it won't be fully charged anymore. Am I incorrect in this thinking?
Its less battery power then you think, its not like a whole boot cycle off then off a few minutes later, so it will be fine.

which is better, to wipe battery stats when the battery is full or when its empty?

You should never let lithium-ion batteries completely discharge as this puts additional strain on the battery and it will lessen it's life the more times you do this.
Charge to 100%, let it drain to 99%, charge back to 100%, enter recovery and wipe battery stats.

Thanks for the tip.
do you have to recalibrate battery stats with the extended battery or does battery stats take a back seat to the fuel gauge chip in the battery? i haven't received mine yet but am very curious.
Just received my extended battery today and wondering this as well. Anyone?
I'm thinking of getting the VZW extended battery and I was wondering about how the phone will handle different sized batteries especially if I'm switching back and forth.
I'm under the impression that the battery indicator shown on the phone is an estimation based off time to charge/discharge the current battery.
So if i get an extended battery, and the battery indicator is estimated off the extended battery discharge rate, would putting the original battery make the phone think it has more power left than it really does?
that is what we are trying to find out. if it automatically picks up the battery through the chip and does it automatically adjust battery stats or do they have to be redone.
Doesn't hurt to just wipe battery stats.. takes a few seconds..

How do you do that?
Boot into Clockwork Mod Recovery -> Advanced -> Wipe Battery Stats.
But be sure that your phone isnt plugged in into the charger, and it should be charged to almost max.

So do we need to wipe anytime we switch batteries once fully charged?

I wouldn't go that far, but install something like Battery Left which lets you keep profiles for more than one battery in case the stock battery meter is a little wonky.
Hy guys... i have this phone and i've a problem with battery
the percentage of battery does not discarge in uniform way.
ex i have 100% of charge and after 2 minutes the charge goes to 94 for a long time, then direcly goes to 80% and so on...
i have the same problem with galaxy ace
anyone have a solution?
thanks and excuse for my bad english
If you have CWM Recovery in your device, go to it and select "Wipe Battery Stats" while having a full battery to see if it helps!

do you have same problem? or your discarge is uniform?
anyone have the same problem?!?!
I had this.
The thing is its losing track of your battery % when in recovery and flashinh another rom, so it will drop 20% in 2 minutes and be stuck for 2 hours on the same percentage.
It lasts as long as nprmal, but it indicates wrong.
Fixed it by charging while the phone is off as much as possible, then wipe battery stats, and let it go to 0% till it cant turn on. Then charge to 100%, while phone off, and you are done.

thanks, i will try already this option...
I am getting odd battery stats. I am pretty sure it is a calibration issue but wiping the data or running calibration tools seems to make no difference. Am I flashing something wrong? I make sure to wipe the data each time. It's not a huge problem but I would love to have a more accurate record.

I will give that a try. I thanks for the reply. I am learning above my curve but it's fun.
hahahah no problem! But just remember to let it fully discharge then charge it back to 100% without break and after a few battery cycles it should be good
