Well, anyways, after a second night of googling & poking the play store I found an app that does it:
Bluetooth On Call. It can enable BT when a call comes in and/or when the device is connected to a charger.
I'm only using the latter and it works.

Hello, please i need help how to remove the car mode because its enabling all the time automaticly, i deleted carmode apk from the sys but it still showing up...(u can see it in status bar)

Launch the car mode app and hit exit car mode. Its one of the big buttons. It should not be starting itself automatically... what rom are you using?
I know but i deleted that apk and it still showing off on status bar and when i click on it i get to home screen because of missing apk. But i got it, settings/locations and untick first option....i think that was a problem.

Check your USB port. It could just be dirt shorting the contacts.

What does that have to do with anything?

The usb port is very sensitive to voltage change. And a piece of dirt can trigger the car mode because it thinks the car charger is plugged in.

I just got the HTC A100 for my S3 and it sounds pretty darn good! I'm not 100% sure if it's streaming in apt-x audio, i'm assuming it is? Good bass and treble, definitely worth $50. It's so nice to worry about just 1 cable to connect to the phone too, looks clean on my dashboard.

Does phone calls go through it as well or just music and GPS? I am wanting to get it but I want it to do every thing my cord does.

Wouldn't the bluetooth take of it all?

No unfortunately phone calls don't go through the speakers, you have to answer it like normal usage but I also have it paired with Bluetooth headset I use in car so it wasn't a big problem for me. In most case phone's paired with built in car Bluetooth anyways so it works fine that way too.

Do you have to connect it every time you get in the car or does it automatically connect and if you take a phone call does the music stop and start back up after? Is there any thing you really like or hate about it? Thank you in advance. I would just go buy one and try all this out myself but there is not a store here that has them.

It has built in automatic shut off to save battery life when not in use, once it's turned off automatically or manually by pressing the control button till red light blink once, you have to press the button again to turn it on and it will pair with your device. When you get a phone call music stops and plays back after the phone call. So far I don't think I find anything negative. It's very compact, good battery hours and sounds good, if there is one thing, I wish I could check how much battery life is left. Only notification is when the battery is low red led light turns on.

I have an xperia arc screen less ( it was broken, and I remove it)
I'd like to use it like a mini tv-pc, using the hdmi port and an OTG cable to connect a mouse and keyboard.
Has anyone any suggestions to give me?

I have connected everything, but I can't see anything on my tv,
Probably the tel is in lock-screen mode, and there is no output on hdmi port.

Did you try to press power button to se if its turned on at all?if the lock screen shows up try to unlock it with mouse.
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
With a Sim card in, the phone can receive calls, so it would be on....
I tried to unlock it by moving mouse but it's hard...I can't do it
Is there a way to by-pass the lock-screen?
Tanks

slide down the status bar and press the settings button and settings should pop up without you actually having to 'slide to unlock'. In settings you can also disable screen lock.

587 i think. I'm using Jelly sandwhich 7.3
I don't think my nfc is working. I tried doing the Google wallet mod to work and failed a few times so I gave up on it and restored my backup.
I haven't messed with the nfc feature before that but tried with a co worker today and it wouldn't work.
I could share through wifi direct but not through nfc.
I watched a YouTube video on it to make sure I was doing it right, but I noticed I don't have an icon come up in notifications whenever I enable nfc through settings.
I am running the h20 lk8 room
might sound like a condescending question, but did you turn it on? it's off by default...

Lol. Yeah, I did.
Anyone?
try looking at the antenna, does it seat properly? does it have something blocking contact? it's it dirty? if none of these are the case seek warranty reimbursement or change of phone

Maybe I'll just unroot and try it and if it doesn't work then get a replacement

It's official, I'm going to unroot and try it. If it works I will root and try again. If not, I guess I'll take it back
Still doesn't work. Gonna go to sprint store and see if their demo phone has it working
Edit: their phone doesn't show the icon either. Didn't try using the nfc on it though
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
I have used nfc many times and I never see any icob light up. The only time you get an icon is after you receive a file through s beam letting you know the transfer is complete. Your not supposed to see an icon just because nfc is enabled.

does it make the blurp sound when you touch it to another nfc phone? also remember unlike the S3 the CENTER of the phone is not the touch point its the top half. the range is EXTREMELY short (many times under 1 inch) so you do need to touch with "some" precision.
also make sure SBEAM is also turned on (thats what is uses to nfc file transfer)
you don't transfer via NFC you transfer via wifi direct which is linked to sbeam and nfc handles the "handshake" so BOTH nfc and sbeam need to be on to do a file swap
like this

I think all share needs to be turned on. I just tried the other day.
I have tried a few apps on the market which claim to read your texts out loud, but none of them have worked for me. Does anyone have an app where this works?
Have you tried turning on driving mode?
Settings>language and input>txt to speech output>driving mode
I think that will do as you want.
In the newer firmwares there is a toggle for switching it on/off on the notification drop down.

That doesn't seem to work for me. I had the headphones connected and then both texted and then called myself. Nothing is heard through the headphones.

Finally figured this out. I was using GO SMS, and there is a setting in that app which disables all other notifications. This options sounds fairly innocuous, but it means no other application can intercept the sms.
btw the sms app I am using is called Readittome, created by an xda user.
Go to Playstore, try: Headphone SMS. Automatically enables when headphones are plugged in. Works fine for me, very simple.

Thanks a million. That's exactly what I've just done.
Or you could use tasker. Set up a profile for when the headphones are plugged in and you receive a text to read it out for you. Does many more things also. Worth the money.
