My Unsolved Problem with Wifi
Hi,
So i recently upgraded to CWM9 Beta1 and i like it but im having problems with it on this first day. The most important one which i really need to fix ASAP is that i cannot connect to my Wifi connection; The phone fails to find any Wifi connections whatsoever. I asked about this on the bug report topic and i was told i have to upgrade my broadband to XXLM3... no one told me how. I searched for it, i didnt find anything so i decided to make it a topic.
Before anything, i would also like to use this chance to thank all those people who have helped me get where i am, i've used my thankyou quota so no worries, they will be thanked once i can thank again (i just want to show my appreciation )... im taking baby steps, so hey! Im like this cute innocent kid who's trying to learn!
Thanks in advance
Or atleast give me an alternate solution! Gawd!
I wish i could delete this thread and make a new one...
I take it Wifi is an issue on android 4 huh?... Pretty lame to know you have a phone with no wifi, it looses its worth this way...
Thread buried and Dead
For a start, this thread might give you the basics

Well if I get your question correctly then you have to extract the baseband from the firmware then flash it with odin . That means you will have to download the stock rom containing the baseband you want and then extract it . For further information of how to extract a baseband see this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658809

If you can't extract the baseband, you can go the long way:
1. Download original LM3 firmware.
2. Download the suitable odin and ancora.ops file.
3. Flash the LM3 firmware using ODIN.
4. Once back in GB, check everything's working.
5. If no problems, then reflash CWM and CM.
This is a longer but safer route, imo. It makes sure that your hardware is working properly coz if you're on GB and wifi still doesn't work, the phone can go straight to SSC.

What? No they have completely different chipsets. The international version has a 1.2ghz exnyos processor . The t989 has a 1.5ghz snap dragon. That is just for starters. The only real thing they share in common is the name "SGS2"

Hello,
Ok, I can't flash a i9100 ROM in T989, but I question:
Can I extract the language (PT-BR, for example) from i9100 ROM and then "insert" it in the T989 (orT989D) ROM?
I question because I bought a "Galaxy SII X" by Tellus (T989D) in the USA, but it doesn't have my language (Portuguese) and the app "Morelocale2" doesn't work cool.
I would appreciate a solution or sugestion to have my IBS Galaxy X in Portuguese.
Thks.
P.S.: I'm sorry for my English.

Your english is fine a lot better than the people that live in the u.s and its their native language. You will need to root your phone using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1311194 and flash this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1322642
After you load that rom go to settings/ Language and keyboard/ Select languge/ The select portuguese.
That is the only rom that supports your language I know.

Thanks for the words about my english.
I'll try do what you suggest.
Just some little questions:
installing this rom I still be able in the future upgrade to the original ICS ROM? Because I know that it will have all languages... By the way, is it true?
This rom is stable? Does it have some serious bug?
Will I lose some functionality?
If I don't like it, can I go back to the original? How to do? How to backup my Original ROM?
Sorry for a lot of questions by a noob!
Is that the phone isn't mine, I'm just helping a friend

This is a custom rom based off the stock rom you already have with added functionality. No bugs are known if you follow directions as stated by the developer. You will get an ota but it wont flash you will have to update it when the developer gets his hands on ice cream sandwich rom for our variant of the galaxy s2.

Yes it´s possible. However I recently flashed XXLMB and the power consumption incrased in CM9. And because I flashed it togehter with it´s Modem, I also lost HDSPA. Now I´m back to XXKL3 like b4 and all is fine. HDSPA is also working again.
You need to flash either a firmware which contains the needed Baseband with Odin, or just and extracted Baseband. Then simply restore your backup of your CM9 build.

Yup, the radios.... Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, etc anything that deals with signal transmission/reception. The later versions should of course correct any bugs of the older baseband versions.
With that said, frnt, I don't think changing baseband would lessen your lag in Temple Run. Maybe check memory usage, that's the usual culprit of lag when playing games on our Wonder. To check, go to Settings > Apps. You'll find the available free memory under the 'Running' tab. Mine usually lags when I'm down to 30-40 MB free.
I hope this helps.

It comes with the stock ROM for Indonesia, the last one before the "value pack" release, IIRC.
ETA: I honestly have no complaints re: performance of DXKL1. It has stable 2G/3G performance, and very good WiFi performance (I can suck bandwidth out of free WiFi hotspots, rendering my friends' Internet to be molasses ). That's why when people upgraded to the latest baseband, I kept mine (a helpful soul at XDA advised me to not upgrade if mine's performing well).

Honestly, I don't know how to extract the baseband from my phone... you'll have to wait while I download the firmware files overnight...
ETA: Based on the names of the firmware Zip's, it is highly probable that this one is the one that contains DXKL1: http://www.hotfile.com/dl/148070028/d50e67a/I8150DXLA2_I8150OLBKL1_XSE.zip.html
The other CSC's ends in ...LA1 or ...LD1; this is the only one whose name contains ...KL1.
Download it and apply the process described in the "extracting baseband" thread. I accidentally downloaded the wrong one (the ...LA1) and now have to wait 26 minutes before I can download again... and I am about to leave the office and won't have access to a high speed Internet until tomorrow...

Also how do I install a baseband?

but in short It's the firmware that talks to the cellular radio hardware. I believe the basebands for the cdma and gsm phones are different so first i'd figure that out.
Ok tnx but in android the baseband can modify the data partition size and system...

The baseband has nothing to do with the storage on the device. The kernel is setting the size of the partitions as far as i know.
The baseband is really just responsible for telephony stuff

Looks like you have the same phone I have (T-Mobile S4 SGH-M919), I want to install a clean and unbranded version of the ROM, I dont know whats happening but my phone is always low of memory, so I have to install Cleaner Master (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cleanmaster.mguard) to clean the memory every time I unlock the screen, but this is a S4 not a old Samsung phone and I dont think I have to use apps like that to keep the phone running smothly.. Before the S4 I had a Note2 and S3 and I never got problems like this and the S3 just have a 1 RAM, Any ideas?
Thanks

Yes but you have to immediately flash a kernel that is compatible with T-Mobile. There are threads you can search for which list the compatible kernels.

What? Odin? you do not use that to flash custom roms. Are you rooted with a recovery installed yet?
Actually, all of the guys above are right, flash the rom, then YOUR CARRIERS kernel. But I am concerned with your odin thing.

I got clockworkmod recovery installed and also I have my S4 rooted:
Can I install the Stock Samsung Germany Rom for GT-I9505 (I9505XXUBMEA that allow to move apps to SD) and then install the kernel for T-Mobile?
I really hate to have only 600mb free in my s4 16gb and I cant move apps to SD. Also I dont know if everyone have the same issue but I have installed Cleaner Master app to clean my memory everytime I unlock my phone because I always run low the ram memory and I hate that too.. I had a Note 2 before the S4 and I didnt have this problems and I have the same apps installed in my S4. Its there a problem with the T-Mobile version or thats normal in the S4, Any Solutions? I really need help
Thanks to all for the helps and replies
You sure can. Flash the rom then your kernel then boot. It will work. Enjoy.

You might want to check into /data/media/clockworkmod. That would account for you having almost no space on your internal storage...
