i tried to solve my problem for 1 day before i make this thread.i have an unbraded ls ks20 with english rom v10c.i tried to pass a greek rom (v10g vodafone).after flash it and the phone start setup shows me a message "illegal use" so i went back to english rom.since then my phone doesn't conect to the network "no service".everything else works fine .what should i do?did i kill my brand new lg ks20?

Never flashed before - but you need a special file (nv?) that is unique to your phone. If you didn't back that up, yes you killed it ! If you did search XDA for instructions on how to restore it.
You can do this step to find your signal.
1.backup your ks-20 NV file,the file you can backup from firmware.
2.firm ENG rom and chose ERASE ESF.
3.complete the flash,you can go in the system,and find Windag_open.cab install on the device,and open engineer mode.
4.open firmware,only flash nv file,since reset ,you will find the signal.
I do this to find my signal
lol, He loss calibration data from handset!!!! If there is no service after flashing without NV backup, only way to resolve that problem to flash the NVRAM with backup of another handset and correct IMEI and BT address.

If u need .nv2 file, pm me with ur imei no. and email address, i can generate one for you, but the last digit, which is calculated by your phone, would likely to be different and also i can only generate branded .nv2 since i only got branded .nv2 file. It could be work in unbranded phone but just u need to flash a branded rom or hybrid rom to use with it.

I have managed to write the IMEI to the phone with QPSt; do i need to do something else?
If i conect back with QPST shows the IMEI (without the last digit)
Unfortunatell i don't have a valid backup for the nv file

I still have my .qcn file... but what I'm trying to do is a little bit different: put a KS20 rom on a MS25 mobile (similar mobile that we have here in Brazil).
I tried to recover my network config using my qcn backup but I couldn't...
My phone always shows "No Service".
Tooo bad...

What does ERASE EST do? Why would you think this whole procedure will help find the signal? I asked because my KS20 doesn't find any signal in a lot of places but my wife's KS20 does. I am wondering if there is anything I can try to resolve my problem. Thanks.

i have two LG KS20 and one failed (hang at boot).
I already upgrader the first one without any trouble a few month ago.
I have the backup nv2 of my first phone.
I were not able to backup the nv2 ofthe phone hang, i tries many times but nothing. I succeeded in upgrading with a rom the phone, and now he boots.
I just want to put the right IMEI, i tried with LGMDP but he never restores
because I M ALWAYS IN EMERGENCY MODE in LGMDP !! i have installed the cab file WinDiag_Open.cab like written in post

I had exactly the same problem - i successfully flashed a new rom, but found that I couldn't restore the nv2 because LGMDP kept telling me there was no nv2 file to be found. And when I went into the nv restore page, the field to select the nv2 file wasn't there. This was whether I connected the phone in emergency mode, or in normal mode with Win_Diag.cab installed.
I was using LGMDP v1.5 Build 12-14, so I tried downloading and running LGMDP Euro v1.5 Build 12 14, plugging my phone in and voila! the field to select the nv2 file appeared!
So maybe try googling around to find different versions of LGMDP Euro and see if you have any luck.

I have the following problem:
I bought on eBay SGH-I317 from USA for use in 2G/3G networks in my country.
Phone finds the networks, but is not registred in them (available only emergency calls).
Later I noticed that the IMEI in the phone information is 0 (*#06# -> 0/02). I think that my operator does not take this IMEI and so it does not register in network the phone.
I tried all the ways how to repair EFS/IMEI, installed the stock firmware via odin, but nothing worked.
The phone has S\N, Wi-fi MAC and other information that is contained in the EFS, only not has the IMEI.
What else can I try to solve this problem?
I would be grateful if someone would send me your EFS backup of I317, so I can figure out which files in a folder EFS is missing in my phone.

After "dancing with a tambourine" Qualcomm NV Tools has worked, and I was able to hand-write the original IMEI.

I have a prolem
I used rom Ditto but something went wrong during an upgrade and so I did downgrade.
First problem
unknown imei unknown baseband and unregistered network.
2) I followed all guides to repair imei and now
note 2 have imei 0049 but The network working
What can I do to get original imei?

You didn't properly upgrade and downgrade...or maybe something went wrong during the process..Whenever you install a ROM you should always take a backup of your EFS partition in order to avoid such issues.I am sure the DITTO Rom installer must have generated a backup of the EFS while flashing/installing it ..if that is so you will find that in the internal SD card mostly. Secondly,I don't know about other but i have faced this issue with my Samsung Galaxy S2 ...Sometimes the IMEI is proper in the partition but it shows it to be wrong..and the network connects !....and the imei shows proper on restart / flashing other ROM...
This might help !...
1.Search for the EFS restore image created buy the ROM flasher..into ur Computer system

My device has been unlocked by FWUL/Salt/USUed.
I have data format the device many times trying to make various USUed roms to istall but i was unsuccesful
After each attmpt the device bootloops i some occasions bricks.
I have istalled a flashable MM which was the only way i could boot to android and use EFS/quallcomm nv tools
Although nv tools say imei was written in phone , when i disc and reconect imei is still zero
