nice bootanimation
I'll do it for a thanks!
Starting on it now...

You realise the boot animation in the link doesn't contain the image in the preview? Do you still want me to do it? I will show you some of the frames ....
ok so it starts with a blank screen and a small red dot in the lower left corner. This dot grows until it fills the screen and then a grey dot appears in the same place. That grows in the same fashion until that fills the screen and the word booting is in the centre. A white circle gets bigger and smaller and loops until the device is loaded.
No pic of cid with loading, spinning particles as suggested in preview
Sorry, friend, if I had the time I would make one for you. If you have time you could make it yourself. It's not too hard.
Anyway let me know if you want this one done or not. Or if you can find the original and send it to me I'll convert it for you. Maybe PM the creator?
Cheers

OMG! i love it! But can u can change red with a cyan color (i mean cmyk colors)
From AceOne Rom.
I made one out of the preview. It's not very smooth but it's a very small file so it should improve boot time. To make it smoother will take more time. Maybe I'll do it next week.
To use it replace bootanimation.zip in system/media with attached file and set permissions to rw-r--r-- then reboot
Cheers!

Hadn't seen any themes that had even really changed the picture frame (maybe no one uses it?), but I took it into my own hands to modify it for my phone. I tinted it blue, and it turns out mostly transparent with a black wallpaper. I think it is pretty damn cool, and will share the file with people if they like it, of course it means you have to know how to add it to your current theme - which I take no responsibility for. In landscape mode it has more of a blue appearance, but how often do you view your phone in landscape mode? Anyway, here is how it looks. My phone has a very modded theme that has a lot of elements from other themes, and several that I have created myself.
Any interest and I can post the actual pictureframe.9.png.
Sorry, I didn't feel like rotating the landscape shot. Lazy, or tired, I guess.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing... when will somebody edit the picture frame. Good job, looks great! Can't wait to see actual picture frame.png. Your baby is very cute btw. Congratulations!
I was wondering the same; why no one edited the picture frame widget to match themes/skins. Maybe you are right and nobody uses it. I would love to see someone edit it to match theur skin/theme.
So theme/skin developers, now you know at least someone people would use it!
if you look at the last few post of my MoOn DUST theme you will see a pic of a pic with no frame that i added to my latest build.

Cool. I am attaching what I did, if anyone wants to use it, drop it into the Launcher.apk and have fun.

There is no link, this is not an update you can apply. The image is attached to my last post, if you want to use it right click and save it, you will have to put it into your Launcher.apk, resign it and create an update.zip with an install script.
sorry, I misunderstood. I downloaded it. It'll take awhile before I can play around with it and get it installed into an apk.
But, thank you for the image! You ROCK!
Problem with picture frame widgets
Not really on topic here about the transparent frame but it's as close as I could find without having to start a new thread. With that said... I've always had issues adding a picture frame widget to my screen. I select Picture Frame from the widget list, I select my picture from Gallery, crop it, select Save and then it takes me back to Gallery again! Then repeats. Eventually it'll seem like it's saving and go back to the screen... but alas... no widget. Time wasted. Anyone have a solution?
Undere the normal status/notification bar there's something like anoter status bar stucked...for example when i start the phone, there's the htc logo on a white screen, and in the highest part of the display I can see a status bar but it's like if it's under the white screen becouse it's difficult to see.
Also when something goes into that part of the display it changes a bit the colors, like if there's a sort of veil over...
what can i do?
here is a pic
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
as you can see...in that part i can see a clock stuck at 18.38 and other notification symbol .-.
I'd put my money on screen burn-in.. have you by any chance had the screen on for hours on end? then that would explain it.

Is it like that on ALL other ROMs? If yes then it's a hardware problem and you can a) contact HTC b) change your screen yourself.
Hi everyone, forgive if anything like this is already up (I searched and found nothing). But I completely customized the text messaging appearance so that it takes advantage of the pure black that the AMOLED uses.
(This is all using the app: "Handcent SMS")
I downloaded "handcent SMS" went into settings --->custom style--->bubble settings:
Here is where I Changed Conversation style to: Android
Background color: pure black (all colors to zero)
Incoming background and outgoing background to: pure black
(By then everything should be black)
Now this is what makes the effect happen:
I adjusted incoming font color to pure red (255)
Then I put outgoing font color to 138-Green and 255-Blue
I adjusted both fonts to size 22.
I Also noticed that the date font color also helps with the effect and I have mine at 83-green.
So once you have all these setting in place, the pure black and the incoming red font should look like it pops right out at you, while the blue outgoing font color sits in the back!!!
I noticed the effect pops out more outside or whenever theres a more light in the room!
(First write up, forgive if I'm not as thorough as I should be)
Give it a shot, mess around with the colors!
Interesting effect. I do like the glossy black background. Though I found the pure red to be too harsh. I settled on official Android Blue (51, 181, 229) for the incoming text font color.
Will try it out for a few days to see whether it's a keeper.
Update: Making the incoming text font a couple of points larger than the outgoing enhances the 3D effect.

I've noticed 3D looking text in other apps like tibu but I've never though of using it for texting, its pretty cool
can you take a screenshot of it?
Crazy! It actually does give a semi 3D effect

Eh, the red text certainly pops out but I wouldn't say it does so in a 3d kind of way. In fact it looks sort of pixelated to me and harsh to look at. More like it's grabbing my attention by being so stark compared to the rest of the screen.
I think I like your color settings for the outgoing text though, very easy on the eyes. I'm messing around with options for the other color, so far I'm working with max green, mid blue and red.
Still waiting for a screenie

Blue and red colors always appear to have depth on a solid color hence the red and blue 3D glasses. It's an optical illusion but neat if you like that sort of stuff.

Wow pretty cool!!!!!
Ok so clearly a troll post. Looking at the instructions alone you can tell nothing 3D about it. I'll post a screenshot in 10 mins. Maybe we can get an op to get rid of it.
Screen shot attached

It actually gives you an optical illusion of a 3D effect.
And it works, I tried it on my phone.
Nice find OP.

I just updated a screenshot of it. Look at my results. I followed the instructions in the OP. If you think it's any different then provide a screenshot as proof.
You can see same illusion/effect in Titanium backup's app list

Ever thought that this effect won't come out in a screenshot because it's an effect of the AMOLED screen or the specifical display?
Ever thought that this is an optical illusion and not an actual 3D-effect and you might just not see it because it is, in fact, an illusion?
Hi
I have gotten a working bootanimation.zip and it worked 100%. But i edited it so that it would fit even better for me but after i edited it it just wouldn't open. I created the edited bootanimation with the Boot Animation Creator but it's still just a black screen.
Plz can any1 check it out?
What am i doing wrong?
All i did was removing some letters and adding "HTC quietly brilliant" logo and then saved the pics but they were saved in indexed colors so i then had to resave them in RGB mode. It then said it was in RGB/8. After that was done i was able to make the bootanimation.zip with the creator and then i just pasted over the old desc.txt into the zip.
Can any1 tell me what i did wrong?
Here are the not-edited version that is working
and the edited that isn't working
Thanks alot in Advance
EDIT: I just read that in order to make it work there has to be no transparency. I don't know if there was transparency but I will try to remove the alpha channel and see if it changes anything.
What are you using to save the edited pictures, as could be wrong bit depth. I think pngs need to be 24-bit (can't remember off the top of my head). I know Paint.net (nothing to do with MS Paint) will let you save to different bit depths - Gimp probably would as well.

I also read that the 8-bit/channel in rgb is the same as 24-bit color depth in pgn. I'm doing it all through Photoshop. I will try also in paint.net if it doesn't work.
I read it all here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560836

EDIT: There is one thing that bothers me. When i extract the working bootanimation photoshop says that all the pics are not in rgb mode but in indexed colors. Then im wondering how come the bootanimation is working then?
EDIT 2: Well i solved the problem by comparing with a working pgn bootanimation. I saw that the working bootanimation had Layer 0 instead of Backgroung and so i put my pics in Layer 0 and then it worked but was slow. After that I used a program to reduce the size and then I put the pics into Layer 0, RGB 8-bit/channel again and then just hit save and the bootanimation was reduced with more than 1 mb and the bootanimation isnt slow anymore but its almost perfect.
