Does anyone have a step by step for installing the stock rom from Bilard412 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1904099 He posted a video but it was so sloppy that it is impossible to tell what he is doing and what files he is accessing to flash the rom.

Did you ever get any step by steps for reinstalling the stock rom? I went to the link for bilard412 but aside from telling you it will flash to stock there are no instructions.

That's all you have to do is flash the zip. I flashed it in TWRP and it took everything back to completely stock unrooted.

[HOW TO] Get a Completely Stock Kernel + Root!

I just confirmed what leatherneck6017 discovered in Bubby's stock kernel thread.
Basically, there's a simple (although sort of drawn out) process for getting yourself both a stock kernel, and root access. Here's the steps I followed:
First, I flashed the stock kernel linked on the first page of the thread above. Coming from Zedomax, this removed root, and brought me back to stock (Albeit with SU still installed)
Second, I followed Bubby's instructions in This thread to install Clockwork Mod, and then flash the root .zip in CWM.
Third, I reflashed the same stock kernel I flashed in step one.
Voila, I now have a stock kernel--and root!
All thanks to Bubby for his hard (and amazingly fast) work on this device.
I don't know if anyone else is even interested in doing this, but I thought I'd put it out there, since what I've wanted since Day 1 is a stock kernel + root and now, in a roundabout way, I've got it! Much thanks to ACS, and I hope this helps someone.
Hell yea, thanks man!
This is exactly what I have been looking for also.. DL'ing the files now will be flashing momentarily...
---------- Post added at 11:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:15 PM ----------
Boo Ya! Worked like a charm, many thankx good sir! Root is back, SetCPU is locked at 1200, and now I'll be watching for LOS and checking to see if my BlueTooth connection is back to normal... although at this pace there will be something shiny and new to flash by noon HaHa!
Worked as posted!
after doing all this will i have clockwork mod or not?

successfully back up current rom through clockwork mod .
Will be trying this when I get home.

amen holay lu this is all i wanted dont need no fancy kernel thanks yall!!!
I was from Zedomax V3, just flashed stock kernel, still have root and native recovery
Damn my luck! It's only been 30 mins running stock+ root and BAM.. signal loss... sigh.. going back to virgin stock, I never did get LOS for the 6 days I ran unrooted. Balls!
actually you dont have to do the 3 steps just flash overclocked kernel and then reflash stock kernel through odin and the root will stay with stock kernel.
is there any way to working rom manager? when i did back up through rom manager it stuck at traingle.when i tried to flash clockwork mod from rom manager it shows three phones i1900mtd , i1900 and samsung galaxy 2.
I did this process and now have stock kernel plus root. Is it not possible to have stock kernel, root, AND clockwork mod... ?

Not until cwm is added to stock kernel, or the root .zip, because they're both in the same spot and after you add root you lose cwm, at least I did..
So if I wasnt rooted to begin with do I A. Root with zedo' method then follow steps in the OP or B. Start with step 2 somehow? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Go back to ICS from new OTA Jelly Bean on an unrooted phone

Hello folks,
I am a newbie to the forum but I am constantly on the site checking stuff out and finally decided to join!
Anyways,
I recently updated my phone to the new Jelly Bean OTA released from sammobile and find that the wi-fi calling feature that doesn't work is a big no-no for me. I need it constantly since I am in college and most of my classes have wi-fi in basements that have no cell phone service.
If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it.
I tried downloading the stock rom from sammobile and installing it and I got an error:
"signature failed".
I did factory wipe and partition wipe prior to trying to apply the update. I also put the file as update.zip (no I did not make the file update.zip.zip) in the root of the external sd card.
Any other tips?
DL zip from this post, extract and use Odin to flash.
It's the H2 ICS update.

I cannot find the ICS zip in that thread.
Can I restore ICS on my unrooted S3 without flashing it?
Excuse me for misreading the post. Like none of you guys ever done that before, oh yeah I forgot this place is full of XDA God's who never make mistakes.

[Q] First time rooting. ^^'

Hi there.
This is my first time rooting my GS3 SGH-I747, and I couldn't finish rooting it completely. So I tried it again, and it didn't work. Then I went searching on how you un-root and such, then I found this thread and followed it (I think it resets your phone to stock?), I'm not sure. Anyways, now I just want to get my phone back to the way it was before I did all of this. I think I've got to reset my custom binary counts and set the system status to 'normal' instead of 'custom/modified'. I was wondering how you do this? Also, I was wondering if once you root your phone will it always stay rooted or can you reset that so it's like it never happened (as if I didn't even do anything to my phone). I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say/ask. Thanks and the help is very much appreciated.
The thread is about stock rooted ROM. You can always undo root. You need to flash an unrooted stock rom

[Q] How to flash update on stock rooted Note 2

I rooted my phone a few months ago using the link below posted by Jimmy McGee
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/how-to-root-the-samsung-galaxy-note-ii-xda-developer-tv/
I am stock rooted (I have not flashed any custom roms). I found this link below to download the files needed for the updates T-Mobile has recently pushed out (T889UVALL4 update). My question is how exactly do I flash this? Does anyone have a simple step by step how to get my phone running T889UVALL4 (I can not update via OTA, I tried already) What is factory image? Odexed? Deodexed? Kernel? and Modem? Do all these files needed downloaded? Sorry I am new at this, just looking for some pointers. Thanks.

Is there any chance you would want to root the 4.1.1 and pull an image of the bootloader using a script one of the XDA users prepared. Quite a few of us have hard bricked our phones and we would like to try and boot from an SD card with the 4.1.1 bootloader. If you can help here is the recovery flashable file to generate the image.

Someone who has FULLY updated to the new build NE4 needs to flash the linked file via custom recovery. This will create a new debrick.img on your sdcard that you can then upload to help rescue the dead devices here. If the new debrick.img has already been found, disregard this.
T999_Partial_Sys_Dump_for_Debrick.zip
I know it says T999 in the file name, but it should work for the I747 just the same.
Hope it helps!
Let me know if you can help.

ok so i found out and figured out how to update back to 4.1.2
I had to Triangle away and odin back to stock 4.1.1 with no root
Then put the update421.zip from here
Then boot into the stock recover and flash the update file.
Bam now I have 4.1.2 Stock un rooted.
Next I'm going to root it and dump it for you.
If your phone isn't unlocked, you could flash back to 4.1.1 and unlock it.
If you are on 4.1.2 all you need to do to unlock is flash the 4.1.1 modem.
