Browser trouble since 3.29 update

I just flashed the 3.29 software update yesterday and everything was great, but I discovered today that I have a new problem with the built-in browser - whenever a page is loading and I touch anything (like x or the back button) the browser instantly force closes.
What can I do about this? Could a different kernel (I'm on stock now) make a difference?
Any ideas are appreciated.

Go into manage applications force stop the browser and clear all data/cache then reboot and see if that helps.

I did what you said, but it hasn't fixed the problem, only made the force close delayed by a few seconds. What else can I try?

You can try booting into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik-cache then reboot. And if that still doesn't help I guess you could re-flash the rom or try an entirely different one.

Thanks for your help, man. I tried flashing a custom kernel and in the process I wiped cache and dalvik, but the problem has persisted. You think just reflashing the ROM could solve the problem?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yeah that would be my next step...I'd wipe the important 3 then re-flash. Trying a different ROM wouldn't hurt either.

Thanks for your help. I think I'll reflash the current ROM. I like stock Sense UI.

Missing browser icon MIUI.

Hi everyone.
So I am having an issue finding the built in browser application on Miui. I have tried formating cache and dalvik, and I have attempted to move applications around. Any other suggestions besides full wipe and reflash?

try going into recovery if you have cwm, clear cache and dalvik cache..
Clear data for the app - should work fine after that.

Play store keeps crashing...

For some reason my play store keeps crashing, I've tried rebooting my phone, even clearing the data and ram from the play store... I don't get it..

Rooted? Rom? Kernel? Mods?
Have you cleared data and uninstalled updates? Then reboot and give it time to reupdate?
Try to Remove google account and re-enter info.
If no go then Reflash your rom

Completely stock, nothing custom. I've tried clearing it from the apps. I'll try to uninstall updates.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Tried deleting the play updates, still same issue.. this is so frustrating.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
You may need to do the same on some other Google apps such as Google services framework and maybe a couple others that work along side the play store app. Can't remember them all right off hand.
When you say you're completely stock does this also mean you are not rooted? If you are rooted you can use titanium backup to backup all Google apps and data. Then clear data one by one till you find the culprit and then restore data for everything else.
Did you try deleting your account?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Completely stock, as I'm not rooted or anything. I tried everything, then I factory reset and its fixed.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Glad you got it fixed. I figured a factory reset would do it but was trying to help avoid it. But sometimes it's the only way....
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Yeah I was going to avoid it. It was about time for a fresh start anyways.

Stock Browser Crashing? (Solution)

I've had several weeks of frequent crashing with the stock browser, including associated crashes in Pulse and other apps that use it. I searched high and low to no avail but finally came across a one line post elsewhere that seems to have solved my problem (24 hrs + stable).
The issue was caused by a Google search setting that may have gotten changed some time ago during an update (grrr). If you have this problem, go to the Google search page in your browser, then click Settings > Search Settings, and under "Precise Location", choose "Do not allow". I cleared the browser cache afterwards and for good measure, rebooted to recovery and wiped the cache and dalvic cache. Hope this helps someone else as it was a nasty problem.
