[Q] Unofficial AOKP Jellybean Build 3 - Google Search Bar - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have this rom installed on a KF and when new apps get installed, it places them on the very top left of the screen where the Google Search is. I have read lots of threads on the ROM and not able to find were I can remove the Google Search Icon from the Tablet UI.
Thanks

[Q] Question about notification bar/custom rom setup

First, sorry if this should be somewhere else, I tried to reply to a couple threads that related to this but was told that I was not allowed to do so.
Okay, I have been trying to fix this for a few days now to no avail. I have a T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2. When I got the phone, I rooted it, left the stock rom (because I want full s-pen functionality; none of the custom roms I tried provided full support), and flashed a couple jb files to change the battery icon/center clock/toggles/remove brightness bar, etc.). Everything worked fine.
A few days ago I decided to upgrade the firmware to have the multi-window support. I wanted to flash the jb files again to customize the notification bar toggles, battery icon, etc. However, after doing so, I get a system ui has stopped error message and I have no notification bar whatsoever. I tried some of the other jb files with the same result. The only other customizations I can find are supported by Android 4.1.2; however, I am at 4.1.1. I have looked endlessly for a way to go up to 4.1.2 or 4.2 but the only options I see for this upgrade are supported in India/Europe/etc. I cannot find a version to upgrade and stay with a stock rom. I have tried cyanogen which works for the Android update; however, does not fully support the s-pen. So, I'm stuck.
I definitely want to be able to:
have multi-window feature
have full s- pen support
customize the notification bar. (change color, center clock, circle battery icon with percentage in center, remove brightness slider, remove line underneath each toggle button, remove samsung clear notification button - basically the features that the JB themes provided)
keep root access
Not necessary, but would also like to upgrade anything above Android 4.1.1. I also like all of the customizations that cyanogen 10.1 offers; however, the s-pen support is a must.
If someone could help me I would be incredibly appreciative. I would like to know what to flash or what files work. I have used romkitchen before to customize an older phone, but can't find anything like that to keep the features I want. I would be willing to pay/donate if these files don't currently exist and someone would like to offer to make them for me to flash.:fingers-crossed:

[Q] Modify search button to ICS/JB recent apps

Can anyone help me modify my search button to display the recent apps menu in ICS or even Jellybean 4.1/4.2?
I've already changed one of my data files from SEARCH to APP_SWITCH, but this brings up the old style Gingerbread task switcher. I've also tried some of the mods for other devices but the files refuse to load in Clockworkmod.
Thanks.

[Q] Google Searchbar Results

Hi guys,
I'm not sure what's going on here but maybe you guys can help. When I use the google searchbar for a restaurant or to check the weather google usually displays some quick card results that have links.
It seems that after I updated to 4.4.4 the links are broken. I have attached a screenshot to help understand what I mean. Hopefully someone can help me fix it.
I am currently running:
- d2lte Carbon (6-30) nightly
- Stock Kernel
- Did a clean Flash

[Q] Google Now Launcher not working on LG G3 AT&T (rooted, TWRP, on CM 12 Lollipop
Hello,
I could not find a thread that answered my question so I am creating a new one.
So I just installed CM 12 Lollipop on my LG G3 after which I tried installing Google Now Launcher on it. It installed successfully but I am not able to swipe right to see my launcher screen (on the left side).
When I go to Google Settings > Search & Now > Now Cards... I get the following screen:

Help Please!

With Cyanogenmod's launcher you can enable the search bar on the top of the screen. There is also a widget for your Google Now cards. I would recommend using this instead because in my experience, the battery drain of the Google Now Launcher is not worth the experience when you can get essentially the same functions out of something else. Also, you can install custom icon packs and customize Cyanogenmod's launcher virtually endlessly.
This is all I can suggest.

FAQ
Q: How can I donate?
A: Thank you for any of your generosity! I will add you to the "Donation Appreciation" list in the post above this (unless you ask me not to). Please leave your XDA name when you donate in a note, or simply send me a PM, or post in the thread letting me know so I can thank you.

Q: What should I do if I come across an issue?
A: If you think you have found a bug, please do a clean full wipe, and make sure you are on the latest version of the ROM and MOD Pack by checking the MD5 Checksum
Q: Can I update system apps without needing to clean flash the ROM?
A: Yes. But it requires some trickery. With Android 5.1 and up I can no longer put out a patch so you can just dirty flash the apps in the the system, like could on previous versions. If you don't want to clean flash the ROM but still want to move the apps into system/app follow this process.
Take the update in the Playstore. Then go into data/app using something like Root Explorer, and find that new app you downloaded. For example Maps. It will be in a folder, and it will be called base.apk. Now, cut the base.apk and the lib folder (if there is one), then go into system/app or system priv/app depending where the app is, in system, and find the Maps folder, delete the old Maps.apk and lib folder and paste the new one in from data/app and rename base.apk to what the name of the app was, for this example, Maps.apk. Now for the trickery. Go back to the Playstore and uninstall Maps. Reboot the phone and you should now have the app back into System.
Q: I have a question, what should I do?
A: Please read the first (3) three posts of this threads OP as it has important information. Then try and do a search of this thread to see if the question has already been asked (usually it has), and also read some recent posts (I don't expect you to read the entire thread, but searching basically does that for you). After you have searched and read some of the latest posts, then please proceed with your question.
Q: Do you have constant apps uploading upon reboot? Do you have multiple folders in data/app?
A: Read this post, please
nice!!
Nice dude! Let me know when you get everything working, maybe we can get Greyyy Inversion over to the M9.

Many thanks as always!
This is a very beta early release, not much going on, but it'll get there!
Hi thanks for the almighty Fluent ROM to the M9! Just flashed it and getting the vzw login error, will this be an issue or is there something we can do to prevent the popups if it is? I see a temporary fix here. Thanks again :good:

please read the OP.... posted this under bugs..
and yes you can remove that app to stop the F/C if you don't need the Verizon login stuff.
as for the F/C and using the login apps, like myverizon I haven't tested. It will only F/C on boot as per the OP. but again, feel free to remove the app.

If you root uninstall Verizon login & Verizon location, then reinstall Verizon login from playstore, it works.

Is it odd I have to turn off adb in order to see my file system on my PC?

Its the kernel. Still working bon that. If u made a stock nandroid u can restore just the boot from recovery.
Can you upload those Verizon apps u downloaded from play store plesse and thank you
Thanks Andy !
OK here is the verizon login apk, it is older, from may 2013 on play store. But it seems to work. I just installed elementalX from the the other forum, and the adb thing has went away. The rom is flawless at this point.
However, with the modpack, the only 2 mods i have tried, (APM & Battery %) are a little wonky. The APM wont reboot, or go to recovery. It hangs on HTC Screen shutdown. The battery % mod doesnt display the same value as the percentage that is enabled in the power menu, like 8-9% different.
Also, (note to others), make sure system & data are mounted in TWRP prior to flashing the modpack, or it will complain about not being able to mount data or system prior to flashing mods. I dont know if it matters in the long run, (the mods installed for me), but its one less angry message to read while doing things.

ahh forgot to mention about APM.
dont use recovery.
everything else will work.
to get to recovery, use APM and select bootloader, then get to recovery from their.
yea i need to edit the updater script in the mod pack, for now either ignore the error msg, don't flash it, or do what you said, and mount system and data.
right now it's a very early release of the mod pack, most things arent working, but it is nice to have the back to kill and apm option. eventually ill clean it up but time is very limited ATM.
many thanks for all the feedback!

I actually meant where is it located on the phone so I can pull it from my M8 to try with my M9. I have looked and can't find it using root explorer.

Great to see you over here, now. Since I'm still on a test M9, I'm usually a few versions ahead of what's out there, so I am running proprietary diagnostic stuff, but looking forward to returning to Fluent as soon as the testing is done. And every time I revert to my M8 I remember how much I enjoy your work.
Andy Fluent has been running good for me, but for some odd reason there are some system app that I cant get removed. And they are garbage ones that are not needed, for example slacker radio.
I have tried rom toolbox lite and even quite a few others and even freezing then rebooting and trying again. I did manage to get rid of a bunch of them such as all the amazon crap, but quite a few dont seem to want to be ditched.
I"am pretty conservative on what ones I get rid of also, and having run Fluent on my m8 with the m9 sense 7 port since day 1 I pretty much know for sure what you can get rid of and what you cant.
Some others I cant get rid of are google +, htc dot view, the htc mail, htc messages, street view, talkback, twitter for htc sense, and a few verizon ones I dont need because this m9 is on straight talk and not verizon post paid so I dont need verizon location agent, vz navigator, and visual voice mail. I managed to get rid of verizon login but was a pain.
And I know these can be removed as I originally used the big V and there were options in the aroma installer to uninstall them.
Just using more memory now than I was on the other rom. Looking to get the bloat ditched because I plan on being on Fluent for the long haul as I"am happy to have my daily driver back.
I kept saying to Dottat I was waiting and hoping for some Fluent Bling for my m9 lol, and I was download number 11 lol.
Thanks for serving up us m9 guys some Fluent goodness !!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks man!
Give "root explorer" a download, I've had no issues debloating the aforementioned apps with that.

After flashing this it causes an error message that says "All in One downloader has stopped working" and I can't figure out how to get Verizon login from the playstore. I know I am making this more difficult than what it is but I just can't figure it out lol. Sorry.
***Edit actually what I meant is after deleting the Verizon login file then rebooting it still says Verizon login is installed in the Playstore.
