[Q] Speaker Does Not Mute With Headphones? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I am using CM10 nightlies and not sure if this is a general issue or with the build. When my headphone is plugged in, media plays through headphones but not the speaker, but notifications and ringtones still play through speaker. I hate this, I don't want my phone on vibrate only at work just want to wear my headphones and here notifications there only.
Any ideas? Also, I don't have enough posts to put thing in the development forum if that is where it belongs.

Notifications Through Headphones

Anyone else notice notifications (text/email) do not play over headphones? Is it me or WTF?
Note - I am rooted and using Domination HD rom, but honestly I do not remember them playing through headphones with factory rom.

[email protected], you're becoming the watchman for this forum, looking out for repeat postings lol. I wish Chris can just delete them or move them to the appropriate thread. I've been seeing so many new thread pop up lately asking the same questions we've been discussing a couple of months ago. As usual, nobody tries to search for it first.
Anywho, I just wanna mention one thing too regarding notifications. My situation is the opposite to what some people are experiencing. When people say they don't hear the notifications through the headsets, I can hear mine on the headsets AND on the phone as well. Yes, what I'm trying to say is that the notification rings on both the headset as well as on the built in speaker WITH the headsets PLUGGED IN. I didnt realize this until one day I was in the bus and had only one headset on and turned of the music when a text came in and i heard it on the free ear. I was like omg, have the other passengers been hearing this loud notifications all these times (I text a lot and thought they never heard anything) and I felt really bad.
Then I found out that the only way for notifications to not be heard on the built in speaker is to enable silent mode, in which the phone only vibrates. The funny part to that is that all notifications including ringtones still work normally on the headset, so I can hear notifications still without bothering people. I just have to remember to take it of silent mode once I disconnect the headset.

Thanks for the heads up! Weird that there are so many different symptoms of essentially the same issue - routing of notification audio.

[Q] How can I play notification sounds within headphones?

I'm on Calkulin's right now, but have had this problem regardless of if I was on Calk or Original.
In previous phones I've had, whenever there was a notification while I had headphones on it, it would play the notification sound within my headphones, so only I could hear it.
This phone on the other hand, not satisfied with only me knowing if I have a notification goes on and bypasses my headphones and rings it loudly on the phone speaker.
Anyway to get it so that if headphones are plugged in, the notification sound plays INSIDE the headphones and not bellowing it to everyone?

Ringtone goes thru speaker even with earphones plugged in...

Hello,
I was at the library earlier today listening to my music with my new HTC One X with my earphones plugged when I received a call(lucky the ringtone wasn't that loud...). The ringtone went thru my earphones AND my speaker... Is it supposed to be normal? I mean why would it go thru the speaker when I'm supposed to be listening to my earphones anyways...
Question is: Is there a way to disable the speaker or any way around to not have notifications/ringtones go thru speaker while in headphone mode?
Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
i think its supposed to, incase you don't have the headphones in i guess
easy solution, put it on vibrate
might be an app out there that can help as well.

disable speaker when headphones plugged

When I have the headphones plugged in, the ringer and notifications still play over the phone speaker in addition to coming over the headphones. I dont want them to. I just want them played through the headphones. I cant find a setting to disable it. Anyone know of a fix.

Ringtone on loudspeakers even when headphones are plugged in

When I have my headphones plugged in and my phone (Moto Z [griffin] LOS16.0) rings, I often can not hear the ringtone, because it is on the loudspeaker, not on the headphones.
If I am sensitive enough, I can feel the vibration, but more often than not, I just miss the call.
From former phones on stock ROM I was used to have the ringtone on my headphones when they were plugged in.
I have searched the phone's preferences and this forum, but have not come up with a solution.
This two year old post implies that it used to work the way I expected it:

But when I put it aside sometimes the phone rings and I don't hear it because the ringtone is played through the earphones too.
Is it possible to have the phone ringing on the loudspeaker and then switch sound to headset as soon as I accept a call?
