This is the first time I post.. I did search the website but couldn't find a solution that is appropriate to my current problem..
So, I got two problems/issues with this mod..
First off, is that the Wifi Mac Address keeps changing everytime WIFI is turned on/off. Is there a solution for this bug or can you guys point me to a better cyanogenmod for Ice Cream Sandwich for the galaxy gio if you know any?
Second, I cannot connect USB mass storage of phone to computer. Can you guys help me with this too?
EDIT: I managed to connect to USB using some app i found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389375. I would like to know if there is an easier way to connect to USB mass storage than the one i found.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the direction bro .. But still, do you know if the Wifi Mac Address issue is working properly on that ROM or in the ROM I have? Cuz I have a router which has wireless MAC Address Filtering enabled.

I think it hasnt.
But why not disable adress filtering and use a strong WPA2-PSK security password protection?

Thats the only thing I can do for now I guess.. Then, how about the USB connection issue? Is there an easier way for accomplishing that? And thanks for the reply
EDIT: Guys, can you also help me how to get adobe flash player to work on this cyanogenmod? I installed by following the way instructed by the site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19623732&postcount=1
The only thing it shows when I run the flash app using a SWF player, is a cube with question marks on it.

You created a thread a month ago with same question.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7565985#post7565985
Creating new threads with the same question does not help, but searching does. I've answered this question previously.
1: There is no official support for AdHoc on Android. There are workarounds and kernel patches though.
2: Search and you'll find;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=721556
3: Here's also a app that does it all for you, almost.
http://code.google.com/p/desire-adhoc/
Thanks for reply and sorry for my behavior but I need a solution.
I have tried the apk app but I don't understand how it works!
Also I don't understand how try the other solutions.for example the solution at your second link how can I make it?I don't have a terminal on my desire!
I think the app is the best solution if I understand how it works :-(

If you click "this HOWTO that I wrote" link on that website it describes that the app does.
This app also contains the binary needed for the connection to work. the iwconfig binary. Don't forget to deactivate WLAN before trying the app out. Won't work otherwise.
I can't try it out now when I'm on vacation, unfortunately.

you should check the wireless key in your router or access point.
Try to install wifi key recovery from market . It requires root access . It might restore or give you the wifi password stored on your mobile .

Bro..first question..is it ur WIFI router's key that u forgot or the WIFI hotspot key on ur phone?
If it is for the router..then u r asking the question at the wrong place..still the solution(if you're using Windows 7) would be as follows:
Click on the Wifi icon on the bottom right of ur screen
Right click on your wireless network>>select "Properties"
Goto "Security">>Check(Put a tick) the "Show Characters" option
It should show u the password.
If it is the WIFI hotspot key..then changing it is simple..go to settings>>wireless and networks>>portable wifi hotspot settings>>and change the key/password over there..
Click the "Thanks" button if I helped you out..
most likely you will not be able to get the wifi key back. try going onto a laptop or other device that already is connected to the wifi point and try and see the password.
Go to with root explorer
/data/misc/wifi/
And open
wpa_supplicant.conf
That's where all your wifi network passwords get saved to

Above this quote
Connect to the router using an ethernet cable with a PC/laptop and you can check the WiFi settings as you don't need a network key for an ethernet connection.
Check your network connection for default gateway, it'll be something like 192.168.1.254 and if you changed the WiFi key before you should be alreet from that point!
how to root
i had download but how to root???
Confused.
If you lost your wifi password, go to your router config using your PC and a web browser (if you don't know how to do this, step away from your computer and never return!) and find out from there.
If you just can't remember it, but you know its on your phone, pull the wpa_supplicant file from your phone and open it in a text editor on your PC. There is your password.
I made a tool to get it in 3 seconds

Your tool is amazing... only one that actually works for rooting, recovery flashing, password recovery, etc. I hope that you keep improving it.
So from what i can tell he doesnt know his router password he doesnt know how to configure his router. So dude what are you doing in this forum if you dont know how to configure a router ? You said you have galaxy tab and i would suggest to do eoghans method on it but considering what i've seen from your prev posts its probably not rooted. I dont wanna sound dickish but ppl cant help you if you dont help yourself. So make it easyer on yourself and call your IP or whatever and pay for their "professional" help.

Yeah guys me too.. I have a Vaio laptop with Wifi direct. Tried to connect between my OneV and it did, but then what next? I tried sending a photo from gallery, but unlike share by bluetooth no option of wifi direct there... Would be helpful if someone posted a DIY. :fingers-crossed:
So... is there anyone out there that can help on this?
EDIT:
I read somewhere that we need an app from Google Play to use this feature...
Trying out now...
EDIT 2:
Never mind.. couldn't found any...

Looks like we are on our own here. I think it has to be enabled in Sense UI for us to use it. May be the next update of sense may bring this feature with an option of share->wi-fi direct.

Bump for extra information.
Is this indeed not possible? Are there any apps or something that enable one to use a proxy?

Wi-Fi direct is used to play your music and stuff at a capable TV through Wi-Fi.
Works like a charm over here with a Samsung ES7000 series TV. I just start the music, tap Choose Player, hit the TV and the TV switches to the music player which I can control with both the remote and my phone. It is NOT used to transfer files between 2 phones. Use Beam for that.

Lol, no. I'm not.
I asked this question at HTC, they told me WiFi Direct isn't used for transferring files. It's used to send 'small media' such as music to a TV or other WiFi Direct capable devices without the use of HTC Media Link HD.
I have tested this, and confirmed it.
You cannot send files through built-in WiFi functions at this moment, except when you use 3rd party apps.

This statement says you have some sort of self-importance complex, you know you have posted in the wrong forum, but justify it by making out your problem is so much more important than others. Just because you feel its a important problem, it does not give you the right to abuse the rules. Now post in the correct forum in the future!
EDIT: I also removed the [MOD] tag, as its not a mod.
