Galaxy Nexus has a VIA chipset rather than the usual Qualcomm which made things more difficult... but in the end it is VERY possible to flash the device to ANY CDMA carrier in the world. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696621

wrong. you have a GSM phone.
Avoid the Sprint and Verizon development sections. Stick to the stock one and make sure the rom is GSM. CDMA is usually only for US (Sprint and VZW).

About to try the GSM verion.... Thanks!
Sorry if this has been asked before. I have a Rogers GS3. are all ROMs in this section compatible with each other? As in can AT&T, Bell, Telus, Rogers custom roms work on each other or do we need to find roms specifically for each carrier?

Yes, because of the fact that the hardware is the same. We can also flash tmo roms too. Make sure to flash your modem as well and change to your respective apn settings so you can actully do what a phone is supposed to do. Call and text xD

No worries, thats what Q&A is for
Hello,
I am using my Australian S3 4G model handset with VodaAu sim card, currently I am connected to AT&T and my reception is unstable, this is the same while using T-Mobile. I would like to flash my modem with a version that others on at&t are using to resolve my issues...
Will this help?
And which version?
Thanks,
Aussie abroad

Some digging on my part suggests the phone you have is probably the i9305, not the i747. You might want to go over here to ask your question, look for modems, etc.
It is the i9305 gt model yes, but the modems should be the same?

I'm pretty sure you can flash any firmware as long as it's from a snapdragon device. I mean, I have the Verizon note 7 and flashed the sprint ROM to get root. With a few tweaks everything is fine.
Waw i will try sprint as soon i get home thanks for letting me know

Just found this! Thanks! This has been a long time coming, I have had the Note 5 with no root for a year lol.
If you flash another carriers firmware does it come with said carriers bloat? Like at&t does it come with all the at&t apps?

I know lol. I'll just sit back and wait patiently for the unlocked firmware. I'm just glad that samsung is signing this so we have the option to ditch the big red stuff.
If we flash another carrier's firmware without root, how do we get the apn setting for verizon set up for data?
Canadian firmware?
Has anyone tested the Canadian firmware (N930W8) to see if it works with Verizon? I know its not root, but the Verizon changing the Note 7 makes me want to change to AT&T.

I flashed the ATT firmware to get back the removed settings, but I can't get the apn settings set up for Verizon mobile data.

Doesn't the firmware block certain bands (such as ATT firmware blocking Verizon bands) regardless of APN?

That's what I thought but I read posts from others on the forum who said they flashed the firmware from other carriers ( ATT or TMobile or Canadian) onto a Verizon Note 7, , and were able to set the apn so that they had verizon data. I'd like to know how they did it.

Me too. I have until Friday to switch to another carrier. I heard of they release the unlocked firmware, n930u, then we could flash it and be good to go.

Android/Samsung Pay won't work with root access.
I am curious if its possible on this phone or any xiaomi phones to flash the modem to unlock more 4g and 5g US bands? Specifically tmobile ones.
No, I think it's more on hardware thing flashing modem does not unlock more bands.

I have been out of the mod game for years. But before everyone used the same modem and it was the software that was limiting. So was wondering if that has changed or if anyone knows. Hopefully more people chime in.
