Ok guys, I did my research and the reason I'm still in 4.0.3 even when WWE 044 got the 4.0.4 update is because I have a pre release firmware. The 1.19.707...this isn't letting me update to anything. Can I manually update it to another OTA? Like one before the 4.0.4 or just that one?

Since your version is x.xx.707.x, why don't you flash thru RUU instead of OTA? The latest is 2.17.707.3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30906073&postcount=1852
And see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859714 on how to.
I can't lose my info, not yet. I was wondering if there was a way besides RUU.

Plus, doesn't RUU only updates the "radio"?

There is no other way I guess as the OTA for x.xx.707.xx only start from 1.27 then 1.28 then 1.29 then jump to 2.17. As yours is 1.19, means no OTA for your version.

RUU will update, in fact will replace everything in your device. That is why running a RUU will wipe everything on your device so new files get installed such as hboot, radio, boot.img, recovery.img and so on.

Hi everybody.
Does someone know the link for the T-Mobile RUU, 1.26.110.5?
On the web I can just find the 110.2.
I think in order for some of us to get the T-Mobile OTA, we need the 110.5.
Or does anybody know if the OTA only looks at CID and IMEI numbers?
So is it Rom independent as long as we have a 1.26.110.x rom?
Just cause after downgrading from ARHD I am not getting the OTA on my device which is a bummer..
Thanks all... much appreciated
No one?

I think the OTA depends on your CID. I haven't seen the RUU 1.26.110.5
My software version is 1.26.110.5 and my phone is saying there is an update but everytime i try it just fails.
I have an unlocked bootloader but not root.
do i have to re-lock my bootloader to update or is there another way

Any ideas please
Could you get the ota file of your phone first and upload it for us?
Just search for a file with the word ota in it.
Much appreciated..

We've got the official update as a zip now, but because a lot of us actually have 110.2 as base rom, it is not working.
So if anyone can post a link for the 110.5 base, that would be great..
Its interesting how the RUU we have 110.2 doesn't receive the OTA updates, I wonder if it is a test RUU instead of the actually released 110.5. Even if this is the case, it begs the question, why has no one got the 110.5 RUU yet?
Did you have any luck with the OTA on top of the 110.2 RUU?
Thanks
Nope, no luck at all mate....

Enjoy!
My software is no on version 1.29.707.11. Just find the new RUU at 2.14.707.3 here.
My device is now rooted with stock recovery (just flash back the stock one to check on OTA). But until now still no update available yet.
As I'm quite annoy with the 3 'ugly' dot. I would like to get rid of it ASAP.
Should I wait for the OTA or just flash with RUU?
If OTA then I not necessary for re-install all my software or application.
Would it be long before the OTA available?

Wait for OTA as we might get 2.17 update for Asia and yeah if you update via OTA all your apps and data remain but just make a backup in case something goes wrong

I suppose this 2.14 update is the "offical" version. Do we get 2.14 ==> 2.17..... a longer route

Well RUU is generally release after its and I don't think HTC will give us 2.14 update 2.17 update is best as it contains sense 4.1 and is very fast and I have used leaked 2.15 firmware also so I would suggest you to wait

I started out with an unlocked and unrooted Vodafone France branded HOX (CID VODAP203) with S-ON running stock ICS.
Foolishly, I assumed I needed to update the HBOOT in order to receive the official Jellybean upgrade. So I downloaded the appropriate firmware.zip from here and flashed it using fastboot. That procedure completed successfully, and the phone rebooted.
Since then, it has been stuck at the Beats Audio screen, which is what I suppose is called a "bootloop".
I tried using the correct RUU from htcruu.com, but that throws up an error about the wrong HBOOT version. I can't reproduce the message exactly; there is insufficient charge to try again.
I had HBOOT 0.43 before; after flashing, I have 1.36. Is there any way out of the bootloop? I don't mind wiping the phone.
Any help at all will be greatly appreciated! :cyclops:

Got it.
The phone had gotten locked again, that's why trying to flash anything resulted in an error. Feeling very stupid now.
Got the unlock code from HTCDev, unlocked phone, flashed boot.img and recovery.img from rom.zip retrieved from stock RUU.
Phone is now back to normal.
Thanks a lot!

Err.. I'm actually back to ICS; couldn't find the stock JB ROM.
Now I'm just being greedy, but would you perhaps know where I might find the JB RUU for my CID? The OTA was released in November, but it hasn't been added to the collection here on xda.
y dont you just flash stock recovery and update to JB since the ota is out as you said ?

I'm not getting the JB OTA when I force it to check for updates. I only get an update from ICS 4.03 to 4.04.
I guess I'll just need to keep trying everyday

Why just send email to HTC with question from where to find appropriate RUU because you did not receive an ota?
Or send it to your local services center to upgrade it?

The commands to find your CID are found in almost every thread involving a question about JB updating. My preference is to use;
fastboot getvar all
Official updates from HTC exist only for their ROM (should make sense right...pun intended). So it should never be possible to correctly install an HTC update using some other developer's ROM. Hence, you need to flash back to a stock rom AND flash back to the stock recovery. Once your phone appears to be running the required HTC software, HTC updates should install correctly.
As for your question about flashing JB manually. Well, on a basic level, JB is an HTC thing. They roll it out, region to region, based on how phones are configured for specific carriers (identified by their CID). If JB OTA update has not been issued for you CID, then that's a provider issue (who ever your telcom is). So technically, there would be no HTC stock JB ROM that exists yet for your CID. Other Telcos in your country might already be rolling it out, but if your Telco hasn't done so yet, then you must wait .
You can absolutely flash things intended for use by a different CID, but your phone will crap out and you'll spending 4 days worth of reboots, posts, charging to above 30%, fastboot commands, adb commands, HTC driver installs, RUU installs, and nandroid backup run-arounds getting right back to where you probably are now :silly:. Since you are waiting for the OTA update anyway, why not try it and learn all about it hands-on.....or wait. To each his own
Fot those who are still waiting for jb update for htc_j15, check in settings for the update. It worked for me

Hello everyone,
I have an international HTC One X with CID HTCCN701, and I would like to install CM10.1.
I am not a noob , and I have already installed a Jelly Bean ROM after unlocking. However, I am currently on hboot version 1.12 S-ON Unlocked, and I could not find a hboot that is for my CID which fits the requirements (Version 1.28 or higher)
Moreover, though I know how to flash hboot, it would be great if anyone can provide a method to update hboot without changing the present ROM, recovery, and data on the device.
Thank you!
P.S. Please do not tell me to search; I cannot find a firmware here for HTCCN701
Does anyone have a solution?
Check for a newer hboot here

Yes, I think there is 1.29 RUU, but isn't the hboot contained in it not up to date?
And, I have already checked for updates when I was on stock ROM back in mid June.

Thanks, but are you sure it will just refuse to flash if it is a fake? Because I saw on the forums that if a wrong firmware is flashed, the device could be bricked.
Another question is that is it possible to upgrade hboot without modifying system and data?

You would need s-off for it to flash if it's fake and upgrading the hboot doesn't wipe system or data , although unlocking the boot loader does
