I cannot boot into recovery. I was attempting to update ROM/Firmware and now I just get the white HTC screen - won't boot up at all. PLEASE HELP!!!
You might want reinstall your recovery, or try a different one. I use ur pc to push the recovery onto your sd card and then put back in your phone. Then, start your phone by holding down the volume down + power button. You'll that should bring you to hboot. Once your recovery installs, just select recovery from the hboot screen and you should be ok.... As long as you rooted it correctly, that is.

hi,
I had a bricked device (USB and SD unmount)
I resolved the "brick" but now I can not instal rom from Rom Manager or from recovery
Rom manager is not puting device to recovery at all, I go throu all steps and when it says to push OK to go recovery nothing hapends
Eny thoughts on this
Try booting into recovery manually, see what happens. That is by powering of the phone and using the vol down and power button.

Tried but pc is not recognizinh it.
... is it posible that it got unrooted?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Resolved - done a trick with file "update" in rooting procedure, packed recovery image in it and flashed it from recovery (when in triangle screen press vol up and power)
After that flashed new rom and now everithing works as charm - well usb sync is not but I do not need it

What is the easyest way to root the Desire?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Probably Unrevoked method
I tried it, but it said that the firmware was to new.

revolutionary
Sent from my HTC Desire
i may be wrong but i think that revolutionary is the only way then
revolutionary technically performs s-off, root is achieved afterwards
read the documentation first
then follow this
What can i add?
S-OFF & flashing custom recovery is a very handy thing.
If you break something you are able to repair your system through recovery, but even if this fails you still got access to fastboot. It's really worth to do. I dont regret i've done it and this helped me a lot many times already.
Thanks guys. I will try this out.

lol u think? did u flash superuser? to check if ur s-off boot into bootloader - hold volume down and hold power and it should say s-off (hopefully). put superuser zip file on ur sdcard and boot into recovery and install zip from sdcard and then ul done
Sent from my HTC Desire
No my bad. I could not get into mount sdcard to flash it in cwm. Don't know why. Is there a secret to get there?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
turn off ur phone then hold volume down + power and say what the bootloader says
Sent from my HTC Desire
I followed the instructions and got into cwm recovery by holding volume down and pushing power button and choose recovery. But when I tried to choose mount and format, it didn't respond. I pushed the power button to confirm but nothing happened. What am I doing wrong?

yes, you need the superuser.zip on your sd card in order to flash it...
that guide overcomplicates it a little bit imo. you can just copy the superuser.zip onto the sd card using a card reader, before you put it in the phone.
then when you boot into recovery, go straight to 'install zip from sd card', find superuser.zip and flash it. push the trackball to select within the menus
and then u r rooted

So I probably made some enormous stupid mistake.
Have rooted unbranded hox that didnt install ota (returned to clockwork recovery) and used this instead:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2035203
Installed without errors, and updated without errors, but stuck at boot screen.
Wont come back to recovery with volume down either.
Didnt read the thread as well as I should have and now I need help figuring out how to access recovery!

Make sure that you have v5.8.4.0 cwm recovery.
In recovery go to mounts and storage, then mount usb storage and connect usb cable to computer.

Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Working on it. Will update boot.img and try again.
Sent from my GT-P7500 using xda premium
Will give up and go to sleep.
1. have accessed recovery without problems.
2. have flashed boot.img from the official rom via pc
3. have installed official rom via recovery
4. still stuck at loading screen
and
1. have tried using boot tool
2. locking (unrooting) goes ok
3. ruu starts up ok
4. cant install because of low batt.
have left phone in recovery to load battery over night.
is there anything else im doing wrong?

Finally...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQasxRPopSM
My problem was partially low battery and partially my phone not accepting update to hboot (probably due to low battery)
It didnt load enough in clockwork so I had to leave it on the "script" for a day...
Tnahx to those who helped!
Hey, I just rooted my PrimoU and installed AOKP unofficial Nov 24-12. I had a few problems and did not make everything clean (I tried different roms, wiped and so on because I was stuck in bootloops). I ended up with trying to boot into recovery and AOKP boot animation appeared. Now it works fine but I cannot boot without going into recovery because it goes into bootloop (HTC with red text). I want to reinstall the rom because I cannot access recovery mode anymore (rom automatically starts). I tried flashing it with rom manager but it does the same thing. I want to change rom but I can't because recovery is not accessible even from hboot (power and volume down). My kernel is 3.0.16 HELLBOY. Please help :s

flash recovery from fastboot again.
Sent from my One V
Thanks I will try it but will flashing a new rom wipe the old one and will I need to install another kernel or reinstall the same if I put a new rom?
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
that depends if the kernel is compatible with the new ROM.
Sent from my One V
Never use rom manager! It breaks your phone lol. Why can't you access bootloader? Press vol down, then press power and keep both buttons for 3 or 4 seconds then release power but keep holding vol down until it goes to recovery. Don't worry keep holding, it will work

Hello from the newbie.
Ok guys i screwed up big time on my htc desire hd. I bought the phone from ebay and it was already rooted. It had a superuser icon on it and it was a 2.3.5 gingerbread. I downloaded CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightlies and went to recovery mode and fleshed it. But me being a newbie didn't know that S is on. So now my phone is stock on white screen with HTC logo on it. I still can go to recovery mode with no problem. Plese help what to do?

Yea i dont know how to do that ha ha. i will try to look up for a video tutorial. Thank you
Did you pull out the battery for a few seconds -->put it back-->hold volume down 3 seconds, then simultaneously hold down power button for 1 sec while keeping vol. down pressed.
Its been awhile since I've had to do that. A menu should pop up after asking your option for fast boot,h boot, recovery etc... From there you can see if you're s on OR s off. (top left corner)
I wish I could say I have done that before, but I have been on s off for a very long time. I'm not sure if you can turn s on or off from there

As for the OP, do some reading before doing things that you don't know how! Use search on the XDA site! And this is the wrong place for this post!
