1:Head over to Stable Recovery from boot menu
2:Wipe Data (Nandroid Backup Before Doing this [optional])
3:Install Zip from SD
4:Select ur ICS(DefyPlus) zip
5:FLash
6:Flash CM9 Kernel [Note: Defy Plus users DO NOT FLASH KERNEL ZIP!]
7:Flash Gapps zip(On first page of ICS DeV thread)

No Data is lost During nightly update!(Unless u do a data wipe(Duh!))

TO CLEAR YOUR CONFUSIONS ABOUT GB KERNEL ICS AND FROYO KERNEL ICS
I have seen lot of confused user out there asking about which kernel to flash and stuff... So here u go read below...
So our beloved Awsome Developers make two types of nightlies
1-For DefyPlus(Can Also be used on Defy(RedLens))
These are the GB/CM9 kernel builds
These are found under /cm9-nightly-defy+/ folder of the servers which we have
To install these you need to follow the TuT to install ICS Defy Plus Above...
Green Lens Camera Wont work on these builds
2-For Regular Defy(Do not work on Defy plus)
These are Froyo/CM7 kernel Builds
These are found under /CM9-Nightly-Defy/ folder of the servers which we have.
To install these follow the TuT to install CM9 ICS FOR Defy stated above
3-Well there is no 3rd build(There is The MileStone2 Port by Walter79,But now that we have camera on our builds that one is not usefull...)

That's correct. I'll join forces as soon as I see a perspective for getting the camera to work. Unfortunately, that isn't the case at least at this moment.

I know that camera is far away from being fixed, but you could help eliminating other bugs from system...we could have a very stable system and when someone have an idea about fixing camera, we fix that too

It's known bug, it doesn't work at all.
You ought to disable PIN check if you want use ICS on defy at the momet.
But you cannot disable it on ICS

For the last time.
DEFY WON'T HAVE ANY OFFICIAL ROM THAT IS BASED ON ICS/JB OR FUTURE RELEASES.
We don't have official ICS or JB, so we won't have any rom that is based on ICS/JB as official.
For every ICS/JB rom we use Quarx's CM9 or CM10, and CM9 is based on CM7, so after GB (newer), everything is a PORT.

Don't shout mihoval. The question was not about the official rom (from Motorola), but about official CyanogenMod, which are two different things.

yaa same here with me be carefull guys when u flash this rim i have a defy plus which they say is already on the gb kernel ...i have never flashed a kernel yet on my device cause all the roms for defy plus say that they require the gb kernel and since defyplus already comes with the gb kernel unless u have flashed some other kernel urself u don need to flash n e kernel which kernel r u talking about i had to reflash the sbf from rsd lite then cause mine is a bl7 defy + i had to then flash the rooted firmware again ****ing pI staking

Unable to boot after installing this ROM on Defy+ (BL7). Able to go back using rooted SBF, but wondering has anyone been able to use this on Defy+. Am on stock GB kernel.

Update: I've tested this rom for less than a day. So far it's rom fairly smooth, not too many hiccups. I think I ran into a force close when I tried to change the wallpaper (no biggy). Keyboards work for me, wifi, sms, mms. So far so good.

Wow! I didn't know that this old chap will get KitKat! Good work all developers! I am going to test it out tomorrow!

I didn't dig it more (installed ~8 hours ago) but until now it works like a charm! And I LOVE it!

a list of what doesnt work for me:
aosp keyboard fc all the time, i cant type (physical keyboard doesnt work too) -> in english layout its ok
362 mb of ram instead of 512 -> as VaderSKN wrote below this post
menu and back buttons doesnt work -> works after a reinstall
btw its faaaast and smooth

You've got 362 mb RAM because it's reserved for radio and other system tasks. All devices' RAM works like this.

Yes, but works on all versions because had the init.d script that active the adreno booster (at least the rom is super fast)

I will fix the keyboard. As I tryed to trim it maybe in some launguages will FC. But I will upload an patch ASAP
Of course that you won't get the full ram space. As @ VaderSKN said, t's reserved for radio and other system tasks. All devices' RAM works like this.
For me works Try to do wipe cache. Did you installed other GApps or mods?

keyboard - yeah, with english layout is works.
ram - ok, i didnt know that
menu and back key - after a reflash its working (in aroma i didnt install the framework mod, maybe its caused it or it was just a bad luck? )

in aroma i checked to install google+ and chrome, btw i have to reinstall them from play, google+ asked me to reinstall, because its not working, chrome just showed up and then closed. after reinstall from play, they are working.
on home screen, after i press menu and choose wallpapers a google search fc window just appears, so it wont load wallpapers screen (every time).

I will upload the keyboard, and will fix the chrome and google+ bugs. About the Launcher problem, i will look about this problem. Once again thnks for the feedback. I will upload a new version today :highfive:

I have flashed this rom.. But it locks in bootanimation for a long time and don't continue to gapps settings and nothing.. I had to pull down battery and reflash backup data..

Had the same issue with my Nitro....this is how I fixed it. Format system partition FIRST then flash ROM, then format cache, then do a FACTORY RESET (format data). First boot takes almost 10 min so be patient. BTW a battery pull is not necessary. Just hold down power button until it shuts off.

Hats off to you. Nice job with the camera and the ROM.
After flash and reboot my phone did not get past the cm logo, I noticed a lot of errors in logcat , so I reboot into recovery and formatted cache and rebooted again, them ROM booted
