If u wanna go into safe mode ...restart the phone and when you see the HTC logo long press on power down button ....then you'll be in safe mode
Keep your hopes up high
and you head down low!!
ADTR...
Ok as to how I did it I have no Idea and to the person above me what does safe mode do does it have any benifets to being in that mode
Sent from my One V using XDA Premium HD app
Lol easy way is if u have cm9 or cm10 go to the advanced power menu and his and keep reboot....safe mode disables all third party apps for one reboot

Is there a way for cwm to boot into external SD card? Coming from HTC amaze it was one of the options.
Also, hard boot into recovery via battery removal it's so painful - holding 3 buttons and inserting the battery at the same time is a challenge. Is there another way?

Rom manager has a reboot recovery option. Yoibcoild use adb reboot recovery. There are lots of other ways.

There's no need to insert the battery at the same time. Do that first. You can even put the battery cover on. Then when you're ready hold power, volume up, and home button at the same time. If you wanted you can even hold home and volume up before pressing power.

This works fine under normal boot into recovery, but I just use quick boot app from market for that. The problem is when I flash a different rom for instance and forget to flash the matching kernel. The only way to get back is to remove battery trick, which is not easy.

Hello, I flashed myOneV RC8.0 FX+ then flashed a separate boot.img which is found on the first page in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647052.
I noticed that there are times that a red square is displayed on screen when navigating the phone in times it is loading.
What is the cause of this?
Great ROM by the way!
Please provide a screenshot.
I can't produce a screenshot since it disappears quickly, it is more like a red thick border on the screen forming a rectangle, this happens when there will be a quick loading moment like opening an app or navigating.

Hmm...it also happened with me on rc 2.0;just reflashed ROM with full wipe and it worked.
I think the reflash worked, i don't see any red border anymore.

I've been a good root user for a while but something isn't right after i used the Installer to flash CM 11 to my Galaxy S4 T-mo.
While i had stock rom i was able to turn my device completely off and reboot into recovery by pressing and holding in the exact order: Vol Up, Home, then Power. And CWM would pop up.
Now with CyanogenMod installed, i try the same process. It says in blue letters "Recovery Booting..." and then everything on screen disappears. I let go of the buttons and after a few seconds the same screen shows without the "Recovery Booting..." in blue letters and then i see the boot.img for CM and the regular boot works fine.
You should know however that if i hold the power button while I'm in CM and tap "Reboot Recovery" it boots into recovery fine. So basically with any root request it works. But the problem with that is if one day if i get a bootloop i cant flash to recovery and restore a backup.
I also tried flashing TWRP instead of CWM but that did not work, the same problem occured with a different recovery.
If anyone has this problem or better, has a fix please reply
Thanks, Essem G

I know the problem has been solved, but out of curiosity, what gave you the idea of that button combo to enter recovery? I only ask because I've seen other questions involving the home button when trying to enter recovery and none of the guides here haven't mentioned using anything other than power+volume up/down for recovery/download mode respectively.
I saw this on galaxys4root.com and it showed a video of that combo working. The very next thing I did was try it myself and it worked. I never knew why or how it changed

It might have been carried over from the s3. Adding the home button doesn't do anything so in retrospect the s4 doesn't even notice. Power + Vol down will take you to Download mode (just an FYI)
