guys, i recently change to cm9 rom and having a problem with my sms backup. isit possible to get back those sms files through cwm restore? coz b4 i change to cm9 i had make a cmw backup.
Another thing, now i facing a problem that my SMS Backup & Restore face an error and cannot recover my message. It show an error has occurred during restore: length=0; index=0 any idea how to solve this problem? Besides, i also make another backup on Go SMS pro, i had restore my backup but the restoration doesn't show any change on my message. Anyone know how to solve this?

there is an app called jeyo mobile companion... it can be use to backup/restore sms, send sms via your pc and more....

Hi, run this after restore and soft reset.
What does it do?
If you're using Sprite Backup 2 then you MUST get version 3. Version 2 has a known problem where it screws up your SMS folders and you can't receive text messages.
CleanMail will clean your pocket outlook folders (erasing EVERYTHING) and get it back into a working state.
I strongly suggest getting version 3 of Sprite Backup as it doesn't have this problem.

They know the problem. I asked them yesterday if the problem was solved in their very new version 3.1.2 : but they didn't reply me yet I have just checked in their forum.

You did a restore after upgrading your XDA! You should do a hard reset and reinstall everything from the beggining! That happened with a friends PDA2k after upgrading it to the newer ROM and restoring his old backup! :wink:
This can also happen if you used Sprite Backup with a version less than 3.
I had this problem when I did a restore with Sprite Backup 2.
You can download this file which will restore your SMS folders back to working order. You will lose ALL your SMS messages but you will be able to receive them again.

That happened with Sprite Backup version 3 in my friends case!
HI i am wondering can you somehow restore certain parts of a nandroid backup, maybe if you could unpack the img or something??
The reason i ask is because i am on Oxygen 2.0.3 and last night i was using shazam and the phone rebooted. It was like a hot restart cuz there was no splash screen.
Then when it restarted the touch screen wouldnt work to unlock, also the sim unlock keypad would not come up.
I Rebooted several time nothing changed, i even tried to reinstall oxygen again without wiping and that didnt change a thing.
I decided to make a nandroid backup incase it can be fixed and then i restored a different nandroid backup from about 3 weeks ago.
That fixed everything but i had some bookmarks that i needed and some phone numbers in sms messages.
I noticed in advanced restore it will let you restore the different partitions like Data, system, sd-ext etc etc. Would one of these options help me?

Data would help. Really for SMS you need an SMS backup app.

Yeah I realise in hindsight that a sms backup would help, but the unlock screen dosnt work for that backup to install anything now.
I might try and restore the data from the nandroid backup and see how it goes

I did a backup of my phone today using SE's Backup and Restore app an app which makes a bakcup as a .sdf file.
When I restored it, it gave me an error. Knowing that Sprite Restore also deals with .sdf file, I tried it too. However, it game me the error that the files aren't readable.
I really need my contacts back.. Anyone can help me?

I've done a factory reset this afternoon, and after reinstalling my messaging app (Smitten) and restoring my SMS via Nandroid Manager and SMS backup and restpre (tried the both), my messaging app is blocked on Loading threads .. I've tried with Smitten and stock, i've deleted and restored sms again but still the same issue ..
Can anyone help me ?
Maybe your backup file is damaged? Can you try this backup, for test of course, on another device?
That didn't came from the backups, I had 2 different ones and it did the same thing twice. After several reboots, it works now ... That's was so unusual :3
