HDMI adaptor resolution - Galaxy S III Accessories

So when I connect my SIII trough HDMI to either of my Sony HD TV´s (200hz) the screen is stretched in a way that parts of the corners will not show. When I connected it to my Philips HD Tv (100hz) there was an option to turn stretching off which made it show the whole screen, but on that TV the screen on the tv laggs like hell.
Any insight on how to fix either of these issues?

Go to your tv menu and there should be a sub menu for HDMI in your video settings. Try out the different settings until it fits perfectly. Had to use "Video Setting 3" on my panasonic.

MHL Problems

Hello! My SGS3 friends, I have bought a MHL adapter, bluetooth keyboard, and a bluetooth mouse. So far, the whole setup has been lovely, BUT...
1) I want some way to use the power button from my keyboard.
2) The screen is like, 5% zoomed in, it's the TV's fault, but I would love some way to fix it, probably phone based as none of the TV settings can fix it
Thanks much for any help!
Also, is there any way to like, turn the screen off while the phone is connected?
You can't turn the screen off because it's just projecting the screen via hdmi to your tv...
I also have that the edges are cut off the screen, this has nothing to do with the mhl adapter or your S3.
You need to adjust that with the tv settings, but both LCD screens here can't fix it, with 16:9 or other auto adjust settings.
Pixel to pixel is the problem I read somewhere, but some tv's just won't project it right.
Look on Youtube and you will see more people have the problem when they play games and so.
It's annoying but you can't use an other setting on the phone, and it's not the MHL adapters fault.

[Q] Hdmi out issue with a100 and 3d tv

I'm trying to connect my a100 to my TV. The TV is a Vizio 42" 3D TV, model number e3d420vx. The problem is when I connect my tablet to my TV using a mini-HDMI to HDMI cable, the TV thinks I'm connecting a 3D output device, so it automatically switches to 3D mode, showing both halves of the tablet screen on the TV. If I try to change the TV to 2D mode, it only shows the left half of the tablet screen on the TV.
Has anyone heard of this, or has any suggestions that I could try to show the full tablet screen on the TV in 2D mode?
What is weirder is that I have an Evo3D that I connect to my TV using a micro-HDMI to HDMI cable and it can switch between 3D and 2D mode without problems. It's the tablet that doesn't show full screen correctly.
Not sure. I have a 2D HDTV and it works just fine on that. Have you tried connecting the tablet to a 2D TV to see if it will display properly on that? Also are you running Stock or a custom rom?
I don't have a 2D TV to test it with, unfortunately.
As for the rom, I'm using keebersrom cmflex 1.5.
Try running this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2042725
It's older and based on ICS but it might have better compatibility.

force 1080p output resolution for HDMI

Hello,
Today I got my Samsung Smart Dock which is working as supposed with my Note 3. My issue is that in a TV, it will display correctly at the TV native resolution, but in my monitor (I-INC iP221) it will display as 640x480 60Hz. The monitor is capable of displaying at 1080p since I use it with my PC. I would like to know if there is a way I can force 1080p to the monitor. I would like to use my Note 3 as a Desktop Replacement for office things, web browsing and media playback.
I have tried several HDMI to DVI adapters I have and I also used an HDMI to DVI cable I also own and it still displays at 640x480 resolution...
My Note 3 is stock ROM and is rooted.
Thanks for all the help you guys can offer.
I already tried using the command
echo U:1920x1080p-2 > /sys/class/graphics/fb1/mode
the modes file shows:
U:640x480p-0
U:1920x1080p-2
but the 1920x1080p-2 mode only keeps the screen black until I disconnect and connect the monitor again where it defaults to 640x480 mode
Hello I have the same issue with galaxy s3 and s4 when i connect to my hdtv directly to hdmi I get 1080P. But when I use my hdmi to dvi adapter I only get 480p. Have you found a solution?

[Q] fire tv no picture via av receiver

When connected to my av receiver marantz nr1602 I am not getting stable picture on TV. It flickers between white noise and the fire tv picture. When I connect directly to TV with same hdmi lead then works OK. Any help, perhaps a setting on the fire tv box?

Sounds more like a setting on the AV. Try reviewing the HDMI input settings on the AV and changing them to 'Through' or 'Auto' or anything else to give it a test.
Thanks for the assist, it prompted me to check settings and video out settings on fire TV box was set to auto. My TV is limited to 720p or 1080i. Changed output to 720p and it worked. Thanks

MHL to HDMI screen size

Is there a setting to have a more accurate screen size when connecting to my TV? I have the Samsung MHL adapter and it seems that it either is cropped or too small when using the picture size options on the TV. I have a Samsung Smart TV. Thoughts?
Mhl just mirrors the screen of the tablet which is slightly different.
You can try playing through Mxplayer which gives you the ability to resize to various formats.
I'd get shut of mhl and use chromecast, far more versatile.
