[Q] "Closing apps holding back button" Feature ? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

DiXperia 2 ROM does not have this great feature...
Is there a way to make the ROM supports the feature like a flashable zip contains the feature to flash via recovery to get it ? I hope so :crying:

Nope.

OK thanks all. Now I have 2 reasons to change DiXperia 2 ROM
1)It is vulnerable.
2)It does not support the feature.

Vulnerable? I don't think there are many ROMs that have the feature though I may be mistaken

Actually, me and sdojoin are kinda devs.

Yes I scanned my R800i for vulnerabilities with X-Ray and the result shows my device is vulnerable to "Gingerbreak". I think it is DiXperia 2 related.
I will search for a ROM that does have the feature and use it.

Your Rom is vulnerable to Gingerbreak?
Gingerbreak is what you use to root your phone if I'm not mistaken..

Someone posted a flashable .zip that apparently contained this mod, and a few others within it, a while back
Never tried it so dont know if it worked

Yesterday, I installed this rooted ROM [ROM] [Unlocked Bootloaders] Stock ICS Xperia Play 4.1.B.0.587 Final and I've scanned it with the app and the result says that my device is patched.
I think some of rooting ways make device vulnerable.

As far as I know, no! The rooting via recovery is the best way of rooting (in my opinion). Easy, fast and no known issues yet.

There used to be an app(Gingerbreak) which could root the devices by simply installing an app and confirm the rooting. But it is no longer supported for later firmwares(as far as I know)

Is the bootloader for this phone already unlocked or something? I can't find much info on it.

It depends.
If you installed the official 2.2, then yes it is locked, but ublockable via the use of Revolutionary.(HTCDev will allow you to use custom ROMs, but its still s-on, which means you can't modify anything on the phone.

There's a couple of ways.
XTC Clip: A hardware tool that S-OFFs and network unlocks
AlphaRevX: Software tool made by the AlphaRev team
Revolutionary: Same thing as AlphaRevX, but also roots.

Rooting.

Hey has anyone figured, at least give me a explanation on y we can't root the ion without unlocking the bootloader .
Sent from my LT28at using xda premium
Because Sony has patched the previous exploits that allowed rooting via one click methods. We might have the ability when IcS comes out like they have with the Xperia s but Sony might fix that one as well. We shall see.
Are u talking about the one click root program or flash tool.

I think you might flash a Rom which is not built for Tmo GS2. Keep in mind that Tmobile Galaxy S2 T989 is completely different from International S2 i9000, or other variants except Skyrocket from AT&T.

Well, why not just root it and use just rooted apps. Instead of loading your phone with roms instead of doing an experienced job, do a beginner job. Save yourself the trouble, until you are educated on android; and brick your brain.

Not a big difference but a huge difference in how the phone files are installed. If u read the threads of the rom u like it will tell u use twrp or cwm. Some roms just dont load proper that is why the dev tells u what to use. I have had about 5 different droids and they all had different steps to load roms.

i dont think it was what he meant. i think he meant it's just some copy of the 4.4.2 rom from dev thread. well, i dont think so. it uses raymanfx's kernel for sure, but the rom is real mokke. i tried only for couple hours, it has same bugs with raymanfx's, the animation's really nice though.
and i think they'll (the mokke dev) will maintain it. so since this thread is in general section, i think this thread is legit. good even, so people will know about mokke's rom (which is from chineese i believe)

I successfully flashed this rom in TWRP, tried it and reverted back to OPENSemc. Recovery was flashed in FOTA before so its not suppose to just go away. You can reflash TWRP from Goo Manager or find a zip file in development section. And as far as root goes just flash SuperSU zip, it is easy to find.
Just for information, this is the thread for MOKEE 44.2 for the Xperia S -> http://bbs.mfunz.com/thread-927227-1-1.html
Based of of RaymanFX kernel sources, though not credited as far as i can see.

Check this first -> http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/144 You can use Flashtool to flash .elf file. There are instructions there on how to proceed. That will take care of TWRP. Then you can flash SuperSU zip file.
