I'm not sure why you even want to do it but get on Google and search for iOs launchers for android. I'm sure ones been made.

From my understanding you could never port the ui from iOs directly as it is closed source. Meaning it is just a heavily modified android launcher, using your post makes it BS.

FUD!
Touchwiz was heavier in previous iterations. Touchwiz that they've got on the SGS3 is essentially a skin, some replacement apps (camera, messaging, calls, etc) and some additional apps (notepad and stuff like that). I have a fond dislike for Samsung, but I hate it when people perpetrate lies. In terms of the latest flagships, Sense is much heavier and much more intravenous than Touchwiz.

That's what I was trying to say, that sense is more resource heavy than touchwiz, but I think sense looks and feels nicer than it.
Should of made that more clear my bad

Actually, this isn't the same group that released it. One is MIUI Android in UK and MIUI.us in US. There was a long time that MIUI.us didn't update, so I think it's a good idea to have both listed.
Tell MIUI that we hate the iOS solid-Neverchanging-boring UI, and I will use their ROM.

I agree with you about the default iPhone appearance, but that was never how I left it. The theme engine along with the sheer number of themes available lets you make it look pretty much any way want. For my two cents it was what set it apart from other ROMs. That being said, I understand that the themes for ICS ROMs are somewhat limited. I imagine that the number available for JB is going to be pretty slim in the beginning. They also tend to work in incremental updates, so slow improvement over time. Things can be a little buggy in the very beginning. It took about 2 months after they released their GB version that it ran smooth enough on my Evo to use as a daily driver.

The main thing for me is, we bought Android by choice, I used an iPhone and it looked so boring for me, a phone for those who are 50 years old or less than 15. So why MIUI is trying ti copy their UI ? I don't get it, one of the main things google merged to Android was an app drawer, they even tend to take it away from their home launcher. Their GB MIUI was oh god ! An exact Copy of iOS! on ICS they even changed the task manager ! to look exactly like iOS! Why China has/want to copy everything? Android is more successful the way it is.

I think that "we" should be replaced by "i"
It does looks like iOS (infact its the most blatant copy of iOS) but it's never been sued by Apple.. which-is-awesome

Im not asking anyone to hate it, I've used it, It's a good ROM when stable, some nice features. But the over all UI and iOS-wanna-be is what hecks you. Lets say you are running MIUI and you meet some of your friends, he has no clue about Android, he has an iPhone? And he'll be like? Oh this look exactly my phone but with some more options ( At the time Google is trying their best to lessen the claims that Android copied iOS ). Instead, show him the Vanilla Jelly bean! And he will **** in his pants...
I'm now on htc one x for a while after gnexus. I like the sense design since my old HTC desire.
A thought came into my mind and I don't know if it is possible: As some apps design doesn't go with with the sense design, I think apps programmer should consider two versions of their apps. One is normal and one is for sense. What do you think?

HTC do release a SDK so apps can be designed to look like sense but most developers don't use it.

And another for touchwiz.
As well as a completely new one for iPhone (objective c), and a completely different one for Windows Phone (.net), and again for BlackBerry (java) and, well, you know what? It's too much work, people don't even want to pay for apps.

You might be correct. But some decent apps that are needed and we pay for could do it I think.
As for touchwiz, I believe it looks like pure android where in sense the design is different. For example, one app I'm using "memories" provided a sense theme.
Anyway, this was a thought that I wish it could happen. And, I'm still alive without it too

I'm saying that the reason why apps aren't also developed specifically with Sense in mind is likely due to the fact that the additional overhead is not worth it.
Let's port the webOS(http://www.openwebosproject.org/) to One X. I'm keeping a bounty of $100 for any developer who is able to make a fully functional port.

this would be a great idea, but would it be doable?
wouldn't it be easier to port some of it's features, if it is, and improve on current htc one x android roms, making them even better and maybe ppossibly setting a new standard?

It is doable. You can't port specific apps or features as it is a different platform.

Why can't there be both if it can be done? I would like to see both a standalone port and a features added port. That would be awesome, if it is doable.

Source code is out now. Someone please help the community
BUMP to resurrect this thread.
I used to own a Palm Pre, and i can say without a doubt, that WebOS was smoothest and most intuative OS i've ever used..the ONLY thing that held WebOS down was the horrid hardware Palm and HP put out....
Please someone, I can't pledge a whole 100, but i will certainly pledge $40....it ain't much, but if you add up what the others say, it will get you pretty damn close to a new nexus 7....and than we could beg the great dev who does it to port it to the Nexus 7...
Come on XDA, lets do this...well one of you great devs do it!! lol....i'm a great tester flasher, but i'm no dev and i don't have the hardware to build it out...
I had the Palm Pre 1 and still have the Pre 3. They're great and easy to use devices. WebOs has so much potential, it shouldn't be given up that easy! It's so innovative and full of interesting functions. I would love to see a port to the One X!!
Some of it's benefits:
really fast!!
easy to use
a great solution for "multitasking" (some say it's a useless gimmick, but they should take a look how other OS's solved this problem (!...))
gorgeous interface!
ability to play .apk's (ACL)
Opensource
and far more things I can't remember right now
To compare how good the software architecture of WebOs is, take a look at the Moto Droid (Milestone 1) and the Palm Pre. While the Droid is very laggy on Eclaire or even Froyo, the Palm Pre with the same processor as the Droid runs very very fast and smooth. Even with WebOs 2.1, which actually hasn't been released for the Pre. There's a port of WebOs 2.1 for the Pre and even then it's still so smooth and fast. Flash contents on websites are running very fast, but when I take a look at my Droid using flash contents on websites...I can count the frames...
I still belive in WebOs, because it's, in my opinion, a great OS!!
Add additional 50$

With the lack of proper drivers (which can't be solved in this case), such a port will never be all that great.

You probably need to email and pm devs to get people to work on this. Look for the big devs on your devices forum pm them advertise it to them as a new thing to test and how fun it will be for them to do something new, then offer them the reward.

sorry to burst your bubble it will NEVER happen. it relies on sense UI to function. will ONLY work with Sense UI unless of course a app developer makes a replica of it
It will never happen...but you can use FLIPBOARD that in my opinion is better

I can't be the only one to miss it.. don't think a ROM exists but maybe some themes or hell, even the HTC clock/weather widget would be kind of nice.
Anyone else?
Nope.
Sense is a huge resource eater in HTC, why bring it to Gnex?
There are plenty of widgets for that.
Not gonna happen since there aren't any TI based HTC phones.
blasphemy!
Search for themes and apps in the play store and even a simple google search. You can find enough stuff to at least make your phone feel somewhat like sense if you REALLY want that ugliness.
Sense slows down the phone since it is a huge memory hog but your best bet for a sense rom would be taking to the sense4all team if they still exist

They stopped for the Galaxy Nexus even if they still exist.
Were not seeing any other UI's ported for the Gnex except for what we have now(MiUi, Ubuntu, AOSP, any others?)
All u can do is modify the AOSP UI with themes and apps and zip files to make it feel like new UI.
