Hi All,
Having just moved to the S3 from the HTC Desire, the only thing I /really/ miss is the people Widget, I've tried a couple from the play market, but they don't work.
Any suggestions for a widget that has the look and feel of the sense one that does work on the S3?

If people widget is such a widget for social stuff like Facebook and twitter I can recommend you pure messenger widget.

No, it's just for VIP contacts, the HTC one does list FaceBook status I think, but I'm only really interested in the speed dial/text side of it.

The TWiz is a piece of chet$%$ They don't know how to make phones to humans, it's boring and more complicated than Sense or iPhone, to Call, to Enable Camera with a pattern in the lockscreen.
They DON'T THINK IN NOTHING AND THE DEVELOPERS here don't think in this simplicity tooo.
WHY NO ONE DEV ENABLE A WAY TO TAKE A PICTURE WITH THE CAMERA WITHOUT UNLOCK THE PASSWORD? GOD PLEASSEEEE SOME ONE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND ME...

I don't have enabled the pattern and I don't use any password for my screen so with one touch from my lockscreen I can go to phone and make a call or open my camera or open my calculator or whatever app I want...so what is your problem with touchwiz?
I think YOU make your life difficult with the choices you make.....so don't YELL
Try Top Contacts from PlayStore!
But touchwiz has already a favorite contacts widget. Don't get all this mess about it! I use it and its just fine as it is.

Have you tried Android Pro Widget ?
I have switched form HTC Sensation, and this widget, in my opinion, is closest one.
This looks a bit like Sense PPLwidget as i remember it from long ago tough...

I love the ring lockscreen, but the 'productivity' version leaves so much to be desired, it would be awesome to have whatsapp and facebook notifications without having to give up the ring, is that possible?
Try widgetlocker.

Actually it now has a ring option, and I use it for just that reason - with whatever widgets I like. It also allows up to 6 apps above the ring, so in some ways its an improvement
The only downside is that you can't get the sexy HTC weather widget, or the rather nice music widget that appears on the HTC version, but I guess perfection is too much to hope for

Maybe, he needs the native one.
Sounds very interesting. think I'm gonna be following this thread
For stock Sense 4.x this one is closest to perfect: Virtuous Widgets
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.virtuous.lockscreen.widgets
I know I know it's something everyone has been asking...At least I think so....Been searching around the web and thought I would come to you guys as my first post and question! I know there are some apps that can provide notifications in the lockscreen so you don't have to type in your password or pin to see what they recently said, now my question...is there a rootable app, something that can change the current lockscreen on the SGS3 to have these notifications? none of them seemed to work or are really buggy and not supported anymore, I know Iphone has this, infact I think this is the only reason to get an Iphone, just for the notifications in the lockscreen! If there are any legit ones that work and people still know about them please don't hesitate to answer and thanks for reading!

I tried the widget locker thing and it quite badly sucked....wouldn't have any haptic feedback even though it was clicked on, and when I pressed home button after I turned on the screen it would completely bypass my password which is stupid...

Hey devs and android users! I'm new at this so I apologize if I've posted a New thread for nothing or it's in the wrong category
I have a htc one v and a galaxy tab 2 7" (GT-P113) and would like to know if there is any android app that can mimic the way sense 5 homescreen and lockscreen works on the new htc one, and just to be more specific I mean like the way you can see newsfeeds without widgets.
Does anyone know if there is such a thing?

The closest you'll get is flipboard or currents on JB, using daydreams, while you're charging. The rest of the android world hasn't caught up. Technically, YOU'RE probably the leading knowledge right now on this subject.
Do you mean to say I have the leading knowledge on the subject?

You can try the feedly widget. I use it on my device to quickly run through headlines from my home screen. It can be resized and still looks good. If you're looking for social feeds, look online to see how to generate a RSS of your fb/twitter feed and add them to feedly.
I have used pulse and flipboard, both do pretty good job.

So... I started making such an app, after i heard my phone won't get the update to Sense 5. (HTC ONE S)
The app itself is going to be a launcher, similair to Sense 5 with Blinkfeed. But i'm not going to add news feeds and rss, Only social networks will be included.

so.ho launcher already does this
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
So.ho launcher hasn't been updated since December of 2013 so it is outdated. Also the benefit of having a launcher do what he is wanting as opposed to a widget is that it will look better. Exactly like what blinkfeed does. It is possible as HTC made sense 6 a launcher, so it is possible. And people don't ONLY want RSS feeds. I personally loved chameleon launcher but that was abandoned/sold.

There is another widget from the Butterfly Leaked ROM to be added to the list.
It is the HTC Navigate widget, which is used in conjunction with the Laputa navigation pack (if your ROM has it included).

I do not think it is related to stock ROM. My ONE is running Mike's Energy-ROM, and I am also facing problems with the Mail-Widget: although I have all my eMail-accounts properly set up, the widget does not list any of them when placing it on the homescreen. Instead, it insists on creating a new amail ccount. Unfortunately, this is not possible, because whenever I try to do this, the system tells me that this account already exists . Real pitty, because I was always in love with the Sense 4 mail & SMS widgets :crying:
I tried notes and mail,
When I put widgets it doesnt see my mail accounts or notes.
It asks for a new mail account.

Hi I don't know if it was asked before but I would really like to see a Blinkfeed Widget. I used the "Blinkfeed App" Mod a bit and thought it would be great if I could put Blinkfeed at a Page and look it up from there. I don't know how possible this is so please don't hate me... I'm no developer. It's just an idea I thought may be good

With "they" he refers to the rom developers/chefs.
And indeed they Blinkfeed cannot be removed (YET)
Some devlopers are actually trying to remove it (I heard team venom had it partially removed)
Though none have been completely succesfull yet..
For now all we can do is wait.
There is however a way not to use the blinkfeed as your homescreen in every sense rom.. just pinch out and select any other screen you want as a homescreen, then pull it to the "" set as homescreen" text and release
This effectively makes the other scren your sense homescreen and makes your blinkfeed seem like a widget..
There is already a blinkfeed widget, it's stuck on the left page though.
