No, nothing(mostly)from stock ROM can run on aosp. Aosp kernels cannot be ran on a tw ROM.

I would stay with stock at this point, until the custom kernels mature a bit.
It's more stable, and you will not have to 'flash, test and flash again' every few days.

Can I use KToonz kernel with miui?
Bump

I think miui uses the cyanogen kernel so I don't see why not.

This.. Reading the full original post of something you're about to flash on to your $500+ device would be a great idea.

Im just wondering which aosp roms have the most customizations?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Jellybam or paranoid in my opinion

Depends on what customizations your looking for. There all good. And most of the Roms have a lot of different options to customize. Just need to try them all and see what you like and don't like between them. For me I like quite a few. But then again I'm an addicted flasher.

Each rom has different customizations. You need to flash them for yourself and see which one you like. This thread will be closed soon.

I went from Cyanogenmod to Stock Touchwiz as I needed the stock camera and S Note and S Planner but thats not my problem. The one thing I miss the most is the screen off animation. im rooted btw. I want to be able to have the animation activated by the normal lock button btw

someone thanked you for asking a question - cool!
A few options - flash a custom ROM that has that mod added to it, or search the development forum for the thread that has a flashable zip that enables it.
Only way to know which ROMs have the effect is to carefully read the ROM description. Good luck
Ok thanks

There are plenty of custom roms with the crt off option added. I personally use Alliance ROM as I find it to be the closest think to aosp based on tw without compromises.

Thanks I'll look into Alliance ROM! I've had a bad experience with ROMs so I'm just on rooted stock for now but I might try Alliance Rom

If you want to flash a custom Touchwiz ROM. You can.
You can also flash AOSP-Based ROMs. (CyanogenMOD, AOKP, PACman)
Does every rom needs a different kernel?
Sent from my SPH-D710VMUB using xda app-developers app
Every ROM? No. The kernel I linked to you should only be used if you're going to be flashing a touchwiz ROM.
AOSP ROMS use a different kernel that works with only AOSP-based ROMs.
