[Q] Where is the starred contacts folder option - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

when i had my gs2 skyrocket i could long press on the screen > folder > starred contacts
this would automatically create a folder with all my contacts that i had designated with a star. The folder also had a special design to it.
now with the gs3 i can see how to make a folder, np, but the option to create specialized folders like this and for example "pandora playlists" are gone. i cant seem to find that anywhere.
Am i missing something or are these specialized folders no longer available in gs3?
any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Picture album

Does anyone know of a way to hide folders from the picture album?
By entering the path of the folder you wish to hide in this registry
HKLM\software\htc\htcalbum\ignored\
Note this will also hide the folder from being browsed when selecting an image for TF3D wallpaper.

This would be helpful.
I don't know why HTC design the album in that way. Don't they know there are so many pictures of icons, wallpaper, backgroud, windows fame etc. in the software installed folders?
I think in many cases its a toss up. Some devices will only detect images or music in the "music" or "images/pictures" folder or some similar setup. But then you have to be careful to always put them in those. If you want to have a more haphazard organization for whatever reason it's hard to make sure the player/viewer will differentiate between program images and the users scattered images.
It can be done, but it can be troublesome.

Any way to change the order of items in folders?

I've got quite a few folders on my homescreen for bookmarks and apps etc and would like to change the sorting criteria of the items or even better sort them how I like so they are placed in the folder how I like.
Anyone able to do this or have any ideas?
Cheers
For Apps in a folder I have not yet found a solution.
For Bookmarks I am using the LiveBook app (a Live Folder). It will show all Bookmarks alphabetically - which is exactly what I want, but your needs may be different of course.

[Q] Handcent MMS download question

Hello
I just have a quick question about handcent.
So i saved some pictures that were sent to me and they get saved into the handcent/download folder just fine..i can view it and stuff. But then, when i copied another picture into that folder, it created another duplicate folder + the picture i copied. Now i have 2 folders with the same name and one with the original pics and one with original pics + new copied pic. I then tried to delete the pictures from the original folder and the pix in the new duplicate folder are gone (grayed out box).
Although this is a little problem..im kind of ocd when it comes to organization and the double folder thing just bugs me to no end. I hope someone has suggestions or can point me in the right direction to a solution.
P.S. It is my understanding that you cant pick which directory to save handcent MMS to, correct?

[Q] a few questions new andriod user her please HELP ME

hello guys, i did own a iphone but had so many problems so sold it and bought the htc one x while i love it and me being a first time android user i have a few questions please needing answered...ok here we go
1, the home screen wallpaper what size do i need to make one for just to have the middle home screen? so it will stay static across all homescreen's without scroll? what dimension's?
2, how do install ringtones, music , pictures as i'm on a macbook, can i just plug it into the usb to computer and drag and drop?
3, can i alter my default icons to different ones like the phone , sms icons etc...to custom ones i'm running stock everything as its brand new out the box yesterday and would like to keep it that way if possible...? is it possible?
4, how do i delete app's off the phone i no longer want?
5, i saw a app UCCW custom clock maker how can i install one's from here people have posted zip file for where do the files go? and can i use them running stock firmware etc out of the box?
1. 1280x720...someone please correct me if I'm wrong
2. I usually connect my phone and then open my phone's drive and extract my music files into the "dcim" folder. However you can also just use a program like windows media player or winamp or whatever else program and it should do the transferring part for you. Same with images, I put them in the dcim folder.
If you want to set a song or tune as your ring tone simply open your music app, touch and hold the song/tune you'd like to usw until an option menu extends. Option should be there, simply follow it
3. Yes, you can. However changing icons might only seem possible without rooting your phone if you use an external launcher. Try searching for "go launcher" in the play store. Or use "nova launcher".. note that you won't be able to use sense widgets on external launchers.

4. Open your app drawer, click and touch an app you would like to uninstall. The.background will turn to your home screen and the top right corner should be highlighted "uninstall". Simply drag your all over.
5. That is something someone else would have to answer, but they would be doing me a favor as well, haha! Good luck with your one x. Welcome on board
shadehh has replied most of your questions but I could add in .
4 . You can go to Setting > Apps and click on the apps you want to uninstall too . You can also download Easy Uninstaller from Play Store to have a more easy uninstalling experience .
5 . In android , we use a file type ".apk" to install stuff such as Window's ".exe" to install stuff and so on . So maybe the zip file of the app you mentioned consist the apk file in the zip and yes you can use them running stock firmware etc out of the box .
You can create a folder called "Ringtones" on the root directory of your sdcard and put whatever mp3 you want to use as your ringtone in it. This mp3 can then be selected from settings -> personalize -> sound -> ringtones.
The same goes for alarms and notifications. Just create folders called "Alarms" and "Notifications" on the root directory of your sdcard and they will be selectable in the personalization settings.

[Q] Can't name/rename folders. Any advice?

I've flashed CM10 to my SGS3, and when I first began organizing my home screen, I was able to rename folders with no issue by creating a folder and opening it - an editable label with a default name of "Unnamed Folder" or something similar to that would appear once the folder was opened. Suddenly, however, any folder that I create doesn't have a space to edit a name. Now some of my folders have names, and some do not, which looks really stupid. Any advice?
I couldn't get mine to replicate the problem.

Had the same thing. Go to settings --> Launcher --> Homescreen --> Hide icon labels <uncheck>
As long as that option is checked, you cannot label/relabel the folders. After changing the labels you can check it again and you will still be able to see the label, but individual app labels will not show.
