Anything that can remove a scratch from gorilla glass? :-\
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA Premium App
You could maybe try Brasso (the old "good" stuff with the tiny sand) or Armor Etch. How deep is the scratch? I'm not really sure how much different Gorilla Glass is different from regular glass so those two suggestions might be void.
Might also want to look at Jewellers Rouge. That may be too much though.

It's just deep enough to feel it with my finger nail. But I can't see it when I have the screen on. It's in the bottom corner.

If it's something that small try some toothpaste. Call me crazy but it works. Put it on a soft cloth and rub the area in a circular motion for about a minute, rinse, repeat if necessary. Learned that from the Navy

Make sure you're using the paste toothpaste not the gel kind. This works great on scratched cds

Called HTC themself. They said its like gorilla glass. But its not gorilla.glass which is a trademark name by Corning. If you go to gorilla glass website they have a list of phone with GG and the inc2 isn't one of them.

Well it flew across the parking lot and I only got one scratch lol...what I'm going to do is make it a silver one and.sand off this black paint on the front. If it goes bad i have it insured.
It's only a $100 deductible on insurance right? Do I have to return the phone?
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA Premium App
What black paint on the front? The black is under the glass, so you can't sand it off (same with the verizon logo at the top). And to answer your last questions, yes and yes.

He isn't talking about the screen, he means the front bezel, since it went across the parking lot, I assume it screwed up the front, so that it was he means. It'll look like a thunderbolt.

If the scratch is really light, do the best you can with toothpaste and then put a screen protector on it. That'll cover up the feel of the scratch, even if it's still there.
Mine is on ordered but should I buy a screen protector or it came pre-install as xperia S?
There is already a factory applied one on there.

I haven't heard of a pre installed screen protector on the AT&T Ion. Is it similar to a Zagg or best skins ever one or just thin sticker film?

I've changed my mind on wanting to remove the screen protector. Seems like it would be more trouble than it's worth, and like you said, it's hardly noticeable.
Removed my screen protector and I am really happy. It was slightly beat up and I dislike screen protectors on my phones. It was put on extremely well.
The screen and capacitive buttons seem more responsive and I prefer the feel of glass.

Wouldn't it be awesome? To buy a gold faceplate off eBay and install it yourself and end up having a shiney new gold phone. Beat that iSheep! But however I don't think it is possible simply because of the way the the phone was designed - and that was thinness first. Samsung has fused all those layers of glass (glass, touch screen, and digitizer[?]) together so we get a thinner product, but harder physical customisations/repairs. I might be wrong though, has anyone here replaced the faceplate/screen of their SGS3? Would it be possible to spray paint even the faceplate without getting the screen too?
What is your guys opinion on the way this phone was designed? (In relation to thinnest VS hard repairs, not how god damn ugly Apple made Samsung design the phone) Also, if you could, what color(s) would you paint your SGS3?

I also use the mercury red screen protector. I have a red back housing too with a brushed aluminum metal. Looks sick. Ill upload pics if ur interested.

actually.. i would love it if you can post pics. I heard they leave abit of a gap on the side.. wondering how true that is.
Oh, and where did you buy it from? (amazon?)
brush aluminum facial plate frame, i have a thread on this, includes a aluminum home button.

Theres 3 options to change the color right now
Mercury screen protectors. Leaves a 2mm gap all around the phone so i wouldnt recommend it.

This new glass colored screen protector. (Waiting on somebody on a different thread to upload pics so I can see if there are any gaps)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280934039929&var=580120833302
And finally the Aluminize Skinplayer. Aluminium Frame I ordered mine so I'll post pics once I receive it. Hopefully there aren't any gaps. It comes with a Home Button sticker.

I've seen the aluminum cases and they look nice. I'm curious as to if they have a negative impact on the signal strength/ reception. If they don't, I'd be tempted to get one myself!
Yea the housing looks nice. I guess the goal for us all is to have a different colored S3, but preferably without adding bulk to it. The Mercury screen protectors are nice actually, as well as the replacement back cover/housing. So I guess there were more options available that i didnt know about when i started this thread.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I'm still looking at the mercury protectors but it seems that there are 2 versions. a flat one that leaves a 2mm gap from the edge and a curved one that fits perfectly.
I'm still trying to figure out if there's a way to get the curved one. but that is an option for you.
EDIT: and the housing.. you can always buy the housing and spraypaint it yourself.. or even handpaint it if you have the artistic skills.
I have a bezel and home button with infused "diamonds". No stickers etc. Looks nice with the Pebble Blue screen and battery cover.
I'm thinking of getting one on a 2 year contract, will the phone last for 2 years? I mean it's glass on the front and the back right?
And is the reception and call quality good? Can anyone tell me their experience with this phone so far?

You can post here, of course, but I'm not sure that you have a good answer to your request.
It was just a suggest
I think Xperia Z can last longer than Samsung and LG
I always fould people have their samsung screen cracked (some people say LG is weak too)
Sony phones are usually harder compared to most other brand (maybe not as hard as Nokia)
still, people usually found that XZ can be scrached easilly.
One problem of XZ is that the battery cannot be removed normally by us
Since you said u're going to use it for two years, i'm afraid the battery may get bad, then u need to pay sony for expensive replace

Maybe find something here http://www.globaldirectparts.com/Samsung-Galaxy-S-III-SGH-i747-AT-T-s/18091.htm
and how to take it apart here http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/search/samsung+galaxy+s3
I use self laminating sheets from Office Max. I Cut to fit and apply. Easy to remove too. They last maybe two weeks, but they do give some protection to the screen and it's super inexpensive since you get so many sheets to a box. They look just fine. I don't think they cling hard enough to remove any coating but I haven't really looked for that.

I took mine off, too, without seeing any negative effects on the screen. I got a tempered glass screen protector and now won't ever use anything else. It feels just like the original glass and protects the phone at the same time.
I like the Zagg stuff. I've had them on all my phones and never had an issue. I have the HD on my GS3 now and had it replaced a couple times, but nothing left on the screen.
ZAGG was pretty good for the iPhones.
Thanks for the heads up on this one. Phew.
