My files app>samsungmediahub>contents>folder>sd>avengers movie
You can move it from there to DCIM and you should be able to browse to it in your computer.

Two comments.
1) the .samsungmediahub folder is a hidden folder. If you don't have the ability to see them using the proper file manager, you won't see it. I use ES File Manager and after checking some boxes in the config, it shows up.
2) The resulting files are encoded ASF files that end in a .pyv extension. This is a DRM'ed Microsoft Silverlight PlayReady video file. I'm not aware that you can play it on your PC.

I forgot. You have to open the app, hit the menu soft key and click the box that says show hidden files.

Yes. just create a file entitled ".nomedia" and copy to those folders you want to exclude. As far as I remember, you have to reboot to make it work. That's all!

Create a blank text file called .nomedia then stick a copy of this in all the folders you DON'T want to appear in the music player.
That's how I understand it anyway, haven't tried it so I might be wrong!

Yes. An empty .nomedia file should be in every directory on your SD card which you don't want to include in your music player/photo viewer.
I attached a zip file with the .nomedia if you want it. Just extract it to necessary folders.

You could also install a player that allow you to specify directories that hold music. Mortplayer is such a player. Available from Marked.
I prefer to use the stock music player because I like to use the widget but
having to add a file to all directories is a bit of a pain ,
So I just downloaded mortplayer , and it works fine but you would think
you would be able to play only music from the mp3 folder by default or at least
given an option by the htc music player

Just put a .nomedia file in the folder where you have the pics and videos you want to hide.
You might already have this file in your sdcard (some ebook reader or other app that has pics not show in the gallery).
If not, just create an empty text file and rename it.

Doesnt work for me... Stil shows the folder.
It definitely works. Either your media files didn't update yet or you don't have a correct nomedia file...

Can confirm. This does work. Try restarting phone.
Tried it with a .nomedia file already but it didn't work. Gonna see if it needs to update though.
Rename the folder to .folder, the whole folder becomes in invisible.
Your other option is to install estrongs security thingy, which allows you lock down apps totally

I found the best way is to create a zip file and store them in that as it cannot see through a zip file. Has always worked for me, hope that helps

Can someone just rename this thread to 'how hide porn and pics of the bird your cheating with'
By the way. The ext partition is a good place to put 'sensitive' material. Gallery wont look there and it wont show up when plugged into a windows PC.
OK, I have searched dozens of threads and it seems they all come back to the same thing. I'm looking for someone to tell me if my deductions are correct. Movies must be stored ON the device or they will not play. There is no option to send them to the SD card.
Next, how do I delete the movie I did download? I can do it from ES file Explorer if that is the only way.
Thanks....
i guess u need to "un-pin" the movie....

Holy crap . . that must be why it downloaded in the first place. So easy. I guess I tried to make it more difficult than it is...
You can, if you have root access, cut and paste the .samsungvideohub folder onto your external from internal storage. The files will play, theres a subfolder then a numbered folder and inside the numbered folder a .pyv file eg. titanic.pyv. The .pyv files are the video files and will play on most players.
You must have root access to to see inside the hidden folder....
Hi.
Just purchased a SM-T800 and was wondering if there is an easy fix for me to be able to write to my SD Card? Do I need to be root to be able to do this ?

Kit Kat changed the way sd cards work.
The easiest way i know to fix this is to Root your device and then install this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix
I have the tab s 8.4 and have a micro SD card coming in this week. I might be misinterpreting this post but does Kit-kat really not let the user copy over downloaded files onto external storage? I'm the kind of guy that usually immediately roots but was enjoying the stock experience for once. Definitely a bummer if this turns out to be true.
No, it let's you do it fine. But you have to use the My Files app. Not the app of your choice. Unless you root and change that.

With this app, you DON'T have to ROOT your device, and you can copy/move file from device to SD-card vice versa:

You need to be rooted and applied the app to sd card fix before you can download torrents direct to sd card. Otherwise you can download straight to your tablet then transfer to sd card using the my files app.

Tried the app you linked and unfortunately it did not work. My problem was finally resolved with the Wanam Xposed application SD card fix. That works fine if anyone else has any trouble. But honestly it is so irritating that any of this is necessary to get full use of my device. I am rocking 128 gigabytes loud and proud
Okay well maybe not. Big file I was moving to SD is now gone and I can longer write to the SD. Bummer. No idea what went wrong.
Second edit: so the JRummy Apps "SD Fix" on the Play Store seems to have me covered for now. Fingers crossed...
Third edit: Gahh once again read only. No idea what the issue is. SD appears empty, can't read or write. Any help would be appreciated. For now I have a useless slice of plastic sitting in my otherwise perfect tablet.

I had this problem with my 32gb sandisk card, it even said made for android on the packaging but it was very unreliable, sometimes there and sometimes not, even tried the usual test apps for these sdcard on my pc and they reported genuine with no errors. In the end i decided to buy a samsung 64gb card and it works reliably with stock apps but i have not got around the kitkat restriction cos i dont want to root yet.
