Text Messages in Call Log - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm on rooted new ota. Ever since the update my text messages are showing in call log. When I select the view by option and change it to all calls it works for a while and then reverts back to showing text messages as well. I've searched but haven't found any solution. Is the a mod or other answer. Also, how do you kill the action where the screen turns on when receiving a text?

Have you try using go SMS? There is an option for the screen turning on and it won't appear in you call log I think

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm really looking for a mod rather than using a 3rd party app.

From the home screen...hit menu>settings>volume
There you can change all the vibration settings
if you are using 3rd party SMS Apps then you have to change the settings in the App itself, for example Go SMS and Handsent and others alike
Did the above and it still doesnt vibrate...

No. I want my phone to wake up instead of going to sleep actually when I receive a text message.I was looking into sms pop-up and iPhone notifications. I just don't want to have to turn the phone on myself every time I get a text message
You would need a third party messenger app like handcent or Go SMS. I personally use handcent since my og Evo days. Pretty satisfied.

edit: my bad, try go sms... it has a pop up feature

[Q] Screen keeps waking up when I get a text message

Hello,
I have not been able to find any place to disable the screen waking up for 2-3 seconds after I receive a SMS text message. It doesn't do this for facebook, for email, for MMS, but everytime I get an SMS it wakes up which I want to stop it doing.
Anybody know where the option to turn this off is?
Side notes: I have my lockscreen disabled
disable notifications under the sms app.

How is that heloful? He's asking about stopping the screen from turning on, not the entire notification. Op as of now I don't think we can. I think I had heard a while back of an app that stopped the stock sms from turning on the screen but I can't remember at this time the name of the all

I need an answer to this aswell
You have to use another SMS program (like from play store) and disable the default, or root and use the modded apk which allows for this option to be selectable

I solved this problem using Gravity Box, in General fixes -> Fix messaging wakelock.
Good Luck.

SMS & screen on

Can someone tell me if there is a way to stop the screen from turning on when I get an SMS as well as stopping the SMS from appearing on the lock screen? It's very annoying and I'm sure over time it cuts into battery life.
Thanks.
Msg. Setting.

Settings in message app and uncheck preview message.
Theres no way to prevent the screen from waking i dont think...custom roms only.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to wait for a ROM then.
Thanks again.
Problem is with preview unchecked you still get a box on your lock screen minus the text info. I believe it just says "message".

chomp
use chomp sms. its quite fast, more customizable than the stock messaging app and actually has an option from preventing the screen wake. i cant say for the other sms applications though, but chomp is good
I have been using Go SMS for years. I really like the customization and settings. You can turn off stock notifications and eliminate the screen wake issue.

[Q] block call and notification

hello to all,
when active "block mode" always appears to me the missed call notification at the top, I disabled the notification.
how to solve?...
thanks
Massimo
I dont think it cant be done on factory rom. When you block single numbers using reject list feature they wont appear as missed calls on status bar but they will show as missed calls on call log
