Unusual problem with google play - HTC One X

Guys I'm having this problem with google play on my HOX. It keeps on loading and doesn't show anything, I've already tried rebooting the phone a couple of times. Weird thing is I tried accessing google play in my account via a desktop and the same problem persists there too. Loading but not opening I think I should just mention that I had rooted my HOX and installed superSU but I switched to superuser but then switched back and uninstalled superuser from my device but on the desktop account it still showed superuser installed so I clicked the uninstall button on the screen. Nothing immediate happened and I'm not even sure if this problem did happen because of that but just mentioning it

Sorry I'm still a noob here what does that mean in layman terms. Oh and there's another thing, I read somewhere that clearing app data and uninstalling all updates can fix that. Well I did that and I can no longer see google play in the apps list I tried downloading a google play apk from 4shared but an error comes that ur replacing a system application and cannot install but I can't find google play anywhere

Oh lol a fellow Pakistani so when will they, like, undo that. And can u address my second qs plz I think I did something stupid there I read somewhere some problems can be solved by clearing app data and uninstalling updates I did that and now I can't find google play anywhere not in the list of apps or anywhere or system/app. Though the app widget is still on the home screen

if its blocked by your ISP
(root) Download Orbot app(from pc)
(non-root) Download hotspot shield VPN(from pc)
these apps will act as a proxy for all of your apps so they dont get blocked by ISP. The only problem is that with these software the internet gets a lot slower so i would recommend to turn them off when not being used.

Thanx vcek it worked like a charm but this is really weird but after before this solution I had tried another where by I had clearer app data and uninstalled updates and now I can't find google play anywhere in the app list in manage applications or app drawer or in the system/app although I can still access and use google play from the home screen widget. It's like if I removed that widget I would have no way to use gp at all what do I do

Fire it up, go to the "Settings list", long press on one of the listed providers, click "fake this provider now" and then you can install Chrome to phone (and other zone restricted apps) like you would do for any other app via the Market.

Something seems thoroughly wrong with your install. At this point I'd consider a complete wipe & reinstall of your ROM.

I am having the exact same issue with my HTC Evo 3D.
Next time back out of play store then try opening web browser to google and click on one of those restaurants, coffee links then click update precise location when they show you the map. For some reason this ludacris combo of things seems to kick 4g into gear for me then I can tether or use play store or whatever no problem.
Known issue that started after the last Google Play Store update.

I received a pm from someone stating he found a fix. Has anyone tried this with success?
Evo3Duzer said:
I fixed it! Thanks to an IM from xblackvalorx that got me going in the right direction.
First I downloaded the gapps-gb.zip (gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip) from http://goo.im/gapps
Then you need to uninstall Play Store updates. This should put you back to Market but don't open it.
Extract the downloaded zip and copy MarketUpdater.apk & Vending.apk to /system/app overwriting the existing files after backing them up.
After this I installed Play Store to 3.5.16 and it worked and is no longer is it auto updating to 3.7.13. Problem solved!
You may also have to clear the cache & Clear data on the newly installed Play Store if you have any issues.
On a side note I tried the same routine with Play Store 3.5.19 and it auto undated to 3.7.13 (No WiMax Support) within about 10 minutes. So if you are going to do this use Play store 3.5.16 NOT 3.5.19!
I take no responsibility if this messes up your device. I am just sharing a process that worked for me

Google Play Store isn't working !

Hey
I have a very big problem...
But first my last flashed Roms:
CM9 Build 7 to Stock Rom, cause of many mini Bugs, which annoy me too much... No offense, Arco did a very great Job. Respekt to arco, but I just need a Stable Rom, which works PERFECT... That's only the Stock Rom... For example I want to open Twitter... It has white Screen when I scroll down, not all letters are shown etc.
And exactly thats annoying me if I use the Rom longer.
So I decided to go back on Stock Rom. Flashed XML8 via Odin and yeah.
Flashing was okey, alright.
But my Google App Store isn't downloading any apps !
It always sais: downloading, but there are no percentual bars or anything, there are stripes in the bar, and nothing is downloading. I waited about 20min.
So I flashed Kezra v3, just to try the Rom, as I've never been on Kezra, and thaught the Play Store would work...
It did not...
I really need my phone now... But well, I got to get through the day without it...
What can I do ?
I've already tried to clear the cache, to download a new Play Store APK, remove updates and all the stuff... nothing works for me..!
Galaxy S+ Users had same Probleme a month ago...
Google Fixed their Problem...
Am I the only one ?
I can't use my phone without Play Store, as my Phone is empty atm..! There's kinda like nothing! It's an empty Kezra v3
Please help me out, I don't know what to do anymore... Tried everything I thaught of...

Hello robbayani, 403 means forbidden access. You might be behind proxy that is blocked by Google Playstore or not allowing you to download big files.
Or
You got problem with your DNS. the workaround is using a VPN like DroidVPN or by changing to different connection.
Mobile network often have this type of problem.

It might be a bug that your phone caught from a custom ROM...so i would advise to reflash your factory ROM through Odin...but before that...wipe everything...format system and data as well...and then flash stock ROM...i would suggest you to fix permissions then as well....hope this would work...
And for your information...flash FAW rom release 2...i you want a rom qhich is flawless and quickest...this rom is not themed...it just looks like the stock 100%....just your g search, voice search and maps will fc when installed from PlayStore...but you will have to move them to System/app using root explorer, setting permissions...and then rebooting...then your rom will be flawless...stockish rom...

-click access point names
-select the access point you want to edit
-edit it, if you want to delete some box, delete the text.. and leave it empty (in this case, delete proxy and the proxy port)
-click menu button then click save
-done
this step works if you have proxy firewalling the data connection
sorry for late answer.. hehe
I for instance don't have any APN therefore no proxies. If you create another google account and keep your 1st as default, nothing will happen to your contacts, everything will be in place, switching account will be only for playstore. For me it works everytime.

Okay. I see where you're coming from the same thing happened to me. It sucks I know. but I found a simple solution to this problem.
you might have to go through these steps every time you restart your device... Sorry
If you're getting a "service error"
then follow these steps:
1- turn on your android device
2- start your internet app
3- search for google accounts sign in
4- click the first link
5- sign into your account that you use for all other google services on your android...
6- Test if google play store works.
7- your welcome

No connection for Google apps

Using LiquidSmooth ROM for about a week, suddenly my Play store doesn't work
It says "No connection" no matter what [I'm using Wi-Fi and can use web browsing and WhatsApp so its definitely not a connection problem]
Edit:
Its not just Google play, it's all Google's apps [Except for google maps, which was downloaded manually], and my Wifi signal is gray
I looked it up and the only fixes I came up for this issue is having the device set to the wrong date, but its not the issue here, it just has the same symptoms
Can anyone help? :|

I'm not a programmer, net tech background, but you guys have the latest issues posting on the web. I've been having the same issues all day, spoke with Google and ran their pre-programmed solutions. I'm just trying to do a reset & rebuild, all other apps seemed to install all right. Originally had issues with updating Chrome & Samsung Link, but in the past hr these 2 have been updated successfully. Only remaining issue is trying to install Twitter, still getting the same error.
Google issues all day myself. ..
And being linked to my home and work computers has made the problem even worse as I'm 4 states away from home. .
But I guess it's okay. .

I have 5 phones on my account and 4 (including the phone I personally use) of them, that I know of, are getting this message when trying to update apps or install apps. This includes certain Google apps, the AT&T apps and Facebook Messenger. I'm guessing this is going to turn into a widespread issue. I honestly think anyone and everyone who are having should call the Google Play Support number to report this error. Maybe then they fast track a fix once the programmers are notified of the error.

Tried that. It works temporarily.
From my perspective, I think this error is linked to Android Device Manager. I haven't received the update yet, but started receiving this message on Monday. That is about the same time Android Device Manager started rolling out.
Things I tried...
Just trying to help figure out what is up so...
I have cleared cache on the google services, rolled back the settings update (gms.apk - removed the device manager), updated to the latest app store (4.3.10 - was on older version). I tried updating after each, no luck.
I can still download other apps, just not the google beta.
And if it matters, I am running Slim/ Devil with TBO apps...
EDIT: Working now...didn't do anything.
Wish I had seen this thread before I wiped my phone 18 times today. O well. Only Facebook is giving me this issue now.

Try un installing the latest update from within your application drawer. .then allow Google services to update again. .

Try deleting the app cache first. Then, delete the Google account and add it back. That should fix it for you.
Others have reported that this method doesn't fix their problems, but it did for me.
