Hi Team XDA,
Anyone there to help me out :'( ?????
The first screen you see after powering on your phone is called the splash-screen and it can't be changed until s-off. Google is your friend.

Correct, or I think, you could break your phone if you do update

You can update by locking your bootloader again and flashing RUU (google on how to do that), but if something goes wrong during RUU installation, then your device will be bricked.
From what I've read, flashing/installing RUU is one of the most dangerous things you can do to your phone, because if anything goes wrong (eg. your battery is not >30%), your device will be bricked.
BTW, don't regret that you unlocked your bootloader/rooted. It's one of the most fun things to do with your phone. Just make sure you read guides first so you don't screw up viewing youtube videos before installing stuff helps a ton too.

Flashing an RUU is pretty safe if you have battery. Crossing the road with hox in pocket is more dangerous.

Hi Everyone!.. New to XDA and it's really helpful.
However, I am unable to find the answer to my query...
I have a HTC Wildfire S. Great phone don't get me wrong. I updated the software to 2.3.5 and I've hated it ever since Everyone moans about the "lock screen" but I don't have a problem with that. It's the fact it's slower and I am unable to root it.
Hence my question.. can you downgrade a WFS to 2.3.3 from 2.3.5?
All help would be appreciated
Yes, you can.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445867
you can do it , but also you can root it ! since you have an unlocked bootloader or s-off you can get permanent root using superoneclick , and flash custom recoveries and others !
downgrade from 2.3.5 to 2.3.3
hello i wanna know the procedure to downgrade my htc wildfire s.I also wanna know that will downgrading help in removing the "RELOCK" status of my phone to "LOCKED" for warranty purpose
. PLease help me I want my warranty
Guess what? It's old thread bump time!
My father wants to take my old Wildfire S (GSM) as I don't need it anymore ('updated' to Nexus 4). However I had CM7 on it and he disliked it for being different than Sense he knew from his Desire Z. I installed custom Sense 3.5 but he didn't fancy it either.
I can go back to stock 2.3.5 Android as I have it in my CWM backup folder in PC, but I know it will work similar to what I have now, that's why I need a tutorial how to go back to stock 2.3.3.
TL;DR - I must flash stock 2.3.3 on GSM Marvel.
Thanks in advance

Not yet and no ETA at the moment so your guess is as good as any bodies. you could unlock your phone via htcdev and install one of the many great custom roms based on the lastest unbranded update as these custom roms get update very fast to the latest stock base.
Hope this helps.
S-OFF is impossible, for now, but there`s a workaround at least for debranding:
-root your phone and install touch recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1592355
-install this ROM, it`s closest to stock and it`s clean from branding http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562603
and wait for S-OFF with debranded One X
but first, you could write down your current ROM version and download it, just in case you want to revert to stock ROM for warranty reasons. and bootloader is also easily reverted to locked.

Okay, so this probably sounds like a noobish question, but here goes! I have an HTC One X, unlocked bootloader, S-ON and running the latest ICS ARHD... Is there any way I can update to JB without bricking my device?! I've been trawling the forums looking for a means to do this but have found nothing. Any help? :cyclops:

hi guys i put on nik project x rebirth now before i put it on i was on 4.2.2 now its gone to 4.1.1 i didnt think you could down grade on firmware also please please can some one explain is a boot img a kernel i really dont understand that bit
Yep, boot.img is a kernel. Kernel is complete by saying it's a boot.img file and it's modules.
You are back on 4.1.1 because it's probably an older custom rom. Try a newer one and read the descriptions well, check carefully if it's a 4.2.2 rom in the OP
