very nice i would love to do this to my gnex
How can I do this to my nexus, it looks epic

Looks like a job well done, the colour is good. I'm not a big fan of flake on smaller items though.
wow that looks pretty awesome!
Looks very very nice, just not too sure im a fan of the shimmer paint, i personally would have gone with a flat blue and a clear coat but nice job none the less. did you go as far as to paint the inside of the housing or just the outside?

The edges are painted inside too. I had a case that was flat blue and glossy, but I like the shimmer better.

munchy_cool helped me with mine. He also has a DIY in his post about doing this yourself. Check it out.
Not usually a fan of these DIY jobs but that looks pretty damn slick
Very nice man. Is it just the pics or there are glitters in the paint?

The paint has metallic flakes. I like it! If I didn't require an Otter Box, I'd do this too but paint the buttons black.

Used Rust-O-Leum paint for Wicker materials
2 coat primer and 3 coat gloss white..
I personally dig it.
Cool!! That is really good work... Nice keyboard as well
Excellent job! Have you considered putting the words on the backdoor a different color? Just a suggestion
Meh. Why don't you just buy an iPhone if you want a white phone..
Looks nice!
Sweeeeeeeeeet, make a video next time.

Looks awesome but wouldn't have the stones to do it myself.

Not a fan of the red but you got my respect for working that hard to make your phone unique and turning it into something you like. Very cool.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I'm not a fan of the skin either, but that's removable I suppose.
Why the paint for wicker? RustOleum makes paint for plastics, surely they have white.
Did you disassemble it to paint it? Tell us what you went through to do it.
White is nice... get rid of the red.
**** the haters man, I think what you did is wicked awesome! Looks great man.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
For some reason I was thinking you got yourself a OEM white ET4G... like how you can get a white Galaxy S 2.
Anyway, I like the white but if you don't prep things right the paint will chip off and look like crap very quickly. I can see that happening really fast on small items, using incorrect paint types, and which aren't properly prepped or painted.
So it looks nice now but I imagine it's going to look like crap really soon...

hahahaha ....WORD
but the red carbon is kinda cool, i would have done it on black.....i mean its unique at least, and if the op likes it its his phone....
but iv always personally thought that the whole white phone thing was verry girly.
What would have been really tight is a clean matte gray, almost primer color but cleaner looking with black carbon over it... that woulda been suhhhhweet.
anyone else notice this? i noticed yesterday my home button is now purple instead of blue.
It's the same pebble blue color. The only difference is that the home button is not behind the gorilla glass so it has that opaque color contrast
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
no. its purple.
Are we going to argue colours all day, it shouldn't change colour maybe in different lightings it looks different but mine has always had a purplish colour to it.
Why not post a picture instead of arguing?
I returned my pebble blue for the white because of this

I remember everyone complaining that it was purple.. but damn, that's purple lol.

The pen is BLUE! The pen is Bluuuuuuee!
But that button is purple. I have the pebble blue and had never noticed it before until SOMEONE pointed it out (point) .Mine looks like yours.
On closer inspection kitkit201 is also correct. The color of the metal used on the bezel seems to be impregnated as that purple color. The Gorilla glass changes it's appearance once applied. The button however is raw so no glass, no coating, no love and therefore will look different much like stained wood when compared to unstained wood.
I'm the po-po so no solvents....lol
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Mines turning purple too. But I'm not really worried about it though

I'm not sure why but I love metal cases for cell phones. I'm so happy that there are a few options available for the S3. Not just cases but also metal battery covers and bumpers.
Any one got some? Post up some pics. Imma post mine in a few.
There are already big threads about it, just saying

and if you encase your phone in metal, it stops getting reception, and is no longer a phone.
You get 1 bar less, but still good signal, the same with backcover

not if you do both.
he asked about cases. that would be fully encasing.. if you add a back cover to bumper, it drops all bars, not just one each, because instead of letting some signal through. you let none.
I hot and amazing steel bumper with a matching metal battery cover and my reception is awesome. View attachment 1517840

These are definitely unique 3D-printed cases, but they all have the same flaw: dirt & grime will easily work its way under the holes in the layered patterns.
I *would* consider one of these nice designs, but only after they incorporate a silicone or TPU inner core like my Incipio Silicrylic hybrid case.
