Hey guys can someone please do a tutorial or explain to me how to flash xboarders ICS rom on my tmo SGS II? it would be greatly appreciated

its been removed from xda me and the mods cant agree on here so its at my website

You could go to android-dev to see why.

Is this a tmobile rom?

"Jay from e4gt "was over controlling the thread... my question is why not stay in his e4gt section.... he was kind of getting annoying. As if he didn't want our varients to get ics.....

Not very welcoming from the start. It was also, the rules pretty much allow offsite linking if registration is not required which is currently the case but the rules where extended and not applied site wide.

I get them automatically as well, but some don't like my brother who has the same exact phone as me. I release them as they get pushed so that people who don't get the update can update.

Interesting was I the only one who didnt have any issues with 4G downloading on the store? Initial setup of the phone I always had an issue but then it goes away.

no you can open it from your SD card just make sure you have the option selected to allow files from non market sources

Rom manager cwm?

I used it to install cwm recovery without issue.

Nowadays the rule of thumb is to never use ROM manager to install cwm unless its specifically stated to do so by devs for that particular model. I've seen it cause too many bricks. It may work but it may also brick u. U are better off using the recovery provided here.

Man I have dug it was just to solidify what you were talking about I have all those saved as favorites I just wanna get a consensus on what people are using and without a link how would I have known what you were talking about but thanks that's the route I'm contemplating

I am currently running TWRP to see if the IMEI goes missing using it. If so we can rule CWM out of possibilities.
Gotta say though, I am liking it more than CWM. Give TWRP a try. :laugh:

I heard that twrp doesn't support external SD. If it doesn't then I have no use for it cuz I have everything stored on ext SD. That's why I use cwm

My advice...read and research as much as u can before u pull the trigger. Secondly...make sure u know a way to recover if something goes wrong.

Yea I have been reading all these threads like always and have had and flashed a lot of things and even made a Rom or two on infuse lol never heard of this whole imei thing that's why I'm asking others it is not the lack of knowledge and reading it's a reassurance from others that are working ok

The file manager in TWRP see's my external SD. I am sure you can flash from it.
I only ever flash from internal though.

I came from infuse too and the individual thing scared me. Right now I have the opinion that if I am going to lose my imei I want to do it while I am still In the 30 day return period with best buy

Well, if you've checked the IMEI thread and read my posts I've done quite a lot today using TWRP. Even restored back to stock unrooted via Odin straight from JB AOKP. I'm not sure if it's how CWM does something with the partitions or what. I used TWRP because there weren't any reports, so I wanted to test and see.

hmmm lets see cause some people like myself would rather have fun flashing things (alpha or not) We know the risks we take with our phones. Also considering it's in a public place that is not locked for downloads he has it up for a reason. I'm just not providing the link as he did not post one and in respect to sb I won't post one unless he says it's ok to do so. But others who know how to look for things can find it and get it IF they chose to do so.

I just asked him on twitter if it would be ok to post the link just waiting to see what he says. If he is ok with it I'll put a link in another post. Also this is Vanilla AOSP according to his twitter with some CM stuff added so it's NOT a CM rom it's aosp.

I actually didn't notice that but I'm grabbing his gapps now to give them a go. Doing it without MMS however since I always use GO SMS.

I think its the update script causing the problems if i had to guess i looked at it and i don't think it needs to mount the partition that you have in it. I have disected alot of files and don't remember seeing this partition being mounted like this to install apps. Just a guess though I am not a professional developer so I could be wrong.

Eh I tried. Maybe it just not gonna work... Maybe some else can port it.

OK. Progress report. Found the conflicting libs causing no-boot. Removed them for now, but that will cause a fc most likely. Its probably due to hardware. I'm going to merge the lib files later but just want to test the zip without them.

Maybe it'll work with the new leaked version of 4.12?
Would it be possible in any way to port the GS3 camera app to the 4.12 leak and use the zip on that?
I would try myself, but i have no knowledge on deving at all.

Yes. That was one of my plans. Thus mod should work better on the leak. I'll use all my porting knowledge to get it to work.

I just flashed [CAM-MOD] ["Note 2 Camera"] 24.09. 30Mbit/192kbit/Hardkey-Vol.UP/SLOW/FAST-MOTION to my Omega 44.3 ROM an now its not getting past the boot screen.
Is there a way to undo me flashing the zip file?

You're talking about the S3 ROM while this is the S2 thread, but to fix it just reflash the Omega ROM
