[Q] CWM SD card partition - HTC Wildfire S

Hi everyone !
I'm actually using CWM 5.0.2.8 and SpeedDroid rom.
When I change rom, I format everything and wipe, and I partition via CWM (1Gb EXT and 128 Swap). When installing a CM9-based rom, I try to use A2SD++ (or another zip file to use that kind of script) but it seems that no one work, S2E included.
So I was wondering if it was a problem from the partition ? (I have a 8Gb Class 6)
Maybe from Swap ?? When I do the partition, what kind of EXT does it create ? And what data to SD script should I use for SpeedDroid ?
Thank you and sorry for some vocabulary mistakes, I'm french

You need to use Minitool partition wizard to create the partitions and swap, first format your sd with FAT32, then create teh partitions. I recommend you to use EXT2(use primary not logical)with FAT32, and linux swap at 500 MB, the first partition must be formatted in FAT32 too(primary too).
That sould work cause i used speedroid too, hope it helps!

Thanks for your answer !
The problem is that my SD card adapter doesn't work with this SD card, so I can't partition it via computer (or can I partition the sd card by connecting to the computer with USB ?)

Yes you can do it with computer and the usb cable connected on your phone, just need to put the mass storage when the phone asks.

BY CWM U CAN USE BUT IT WILL PROVIDE ONLY EXT3... MAY BE WORK SLOW..
EXT4 IS BEST
IN CWM u can directly do partition by advanced/ create patition sd card
No need of usb cable or mini tool for ext3

Clockworkmod Recovery cannot find .zip files

I have a rooted LG Nitro HD. I downloaded the Domination HD Rom. However, when in clockworkmod recovery, no .zip files found. Anyone else have this happen? I rooted using superoneclick.

Yeah, I had this happen with the CWM flashed from Rom Manager. I ended up going back to bytecode64's.

Copy your SD card to your computer (all the files), reformat the SD card in Windows, and then copy your files back on it. Then CWM Touch will see the files.
Thank you, kernelpan1c. Worked perfectly. My next step is to check out your rom. Looks pretty sweet.

I haven't done it with card in the phone. Go get a microSD adapter and format with Windows (considering you have a card reader).

Enable usb mass storage on your phone and windows should let you format it or boot in cwm, go to mount and storage, select mount sd card and then format sd card.

Connect the phone with usb cable and choose Disk Drive, default is charging only, download MiniTool Partition Wizard Home from here, install and format the microsd, if is not ok, delete partition and than create fat32 partition, now disconnect usb cable and check, should be ok.
Thanks a lot man

Links2sd symbolic links

After I link an app in links2sd I go to manage applications and I see that the app I just linked is on my phones internal memory. Isn't it supposed to be on my sd cards second partition?
Link2SD creates a link on the internal storage. The phone is not aware that it's just a link, and reports that the apps are on the internal storage. This is perfectly normal for Link2SD.
But after I link a few apps it says insufficient storage. Doesn't that mean links2sd is actually using my internal storage
Sent from my Wildfire S A510e using xda app-developers app
Reboot your phone. You should find that the free space has increased.
I rebooted and it's been stuck on the boot screen for 2 hours
Reboot into recovery and wipe both the cache and dalvik cache, then reboot again.
I rebooted and my internal memory is still the same. Also if the links trick the phone into thinking they're on the internal storage will they also trick applications like disk usage?
Sent from my Wildfire S A510e using xda app-developers app
You can view the /data/sdext2 partition in DiskUsage. You can also check in Link2SD "storage Info".
In the settings for Link2SD, make sure Auto Link is turned on and also enable Link application file, Link dalvik-cache file, and Link library files.
Thanks for your help

Before you create a link to the SD card, the apps have to be on the internal memory, maybe you had them on the SD card and that was the problem.
Why what happens if they're on the sd card

Don't know, I've just read it somewhere. I'm sure nothing bad, maybe nothing and it will work properly, but all my app were on the internal memory before I created a link to the SD card, and everything works fine and I still have a lot of space on the internal.
I am also facing the reported issue and don't understand why does it keeps on reducing my internal memory and if I place my apps on internal memory and then link then what's the use since in one way or other I am consuming my internal memory.
Can anyone help.

[Q] MicroSd Card Problem

I just bought a new Kingston 16 GB micro-sd card and it works normally with the computer and other phones, but not with Wildfire S.
It has two partitions - 15 Gb Fat32 and 512 Mb Ext2.
I install the rom, flash the gapps, let it boot, reboot it and flash data2sd script by Jikantaru and then reboot and when the system starts, it says, preparing sd card and it never goes, and the system hangs up and shiiit..
And the 8 Gb sd card works fine.
Can anyone help?
i think your ROM is cyanogenmod and it consumes more ram and 16gb sd card requires more ram due to heavy load...
you should try it on stock rom
Sent from my Wildfire S A510e using Tapatalk 2
What class is your mSD card ?
If I remember correctly, there was issues with Class 6 cards.
It is class 4.
Dude. Are You sure that you partitoned your card properly? I once had this issue and i repartitioned again. Make sure that while partitioning, partition the fat32 first (primary ofcourse)
And then partition ext3-4..
( i cant guarantee that this works.. but worked for me )
